New Terraneo audio and video door entry systemsThe Terraneo range of equipment for audio and videodoor entry systems has been completely updated witha new series of devices whose appearance andfunctions will meet a wide variety of requirements interms of system size and performance:

products for different types of installationthe systems that can be set up have technical andfunctional features which meet all installationrequirements with regard to project size and level offunctions; from single occupancy to dual occupancysystems, from apartment buildings to apartmenthotels;

new lookthe rounded lines of Sfera outdoor pushbuttonpanels and the new design of Sprint and Pivot door

entry systems are the result of a careful analysis ofmarket requirements in terms of appearance;

catalogue rationalisationthe number of item codes has been significantlydecreased without reducing the number of functions;the indoor stations and finish of the outdoorpushbutton panels are the same, regardless ofwhether the system to be set up is analogue ordigital;

Two types of system: analogue and digitalUsing specific equipment, two types of system can beset up, with different operating logic: analogue anddigital.In an analogue system, the number of wires variesaccording to the number of users. There are 4 wires foraudio systems, and 7 wires for video systems, plus onewire for each call pushbutton.In a digital system, connection between the outdoorand indoor stations is always by means of 6 wires foraudio only and 8 wires for video, regardless of thenumber of call pushbuttons.

This is because the call is sent via an address codewhich can only be identified by a properly configuredindoor station.It is therefore appropriate to use an analogue systemfor medium/small installations and a digital system,with simple wiring, for more complex installations.Audio and video sets are nevertheless common to bothtypes of system.In addition, in all systems, the video signal is distributedvia twisted cable.

Fast and simple connectionsNumerous technical solutions have been adopted toallow fast and simple system installation and to reducethe possibility of connection errors:

plug-in terminalsequipment connection by means of plug-in terminalsmeans that the system can be prewired and thedevices installed when work is completed.With these plug-in terminals, replacement of a deviceor isolation of the system for testing purposes canbe carried out very quickly.

wiring testerthis is a very useful tool which allows one person tocheck that the wiring is correct, signalling anyinversions or breaks in the wires, short-circuitedwires or incorrect call addresses;

no coaxial cablethe video signal in video door entry systems isdistributed by means of a pair of twisted cables, soavoiding the problems associated with the use ofcoaxial cable.

identical referencing of all connection terminalsreferencing of terminal connections is the same,whatever of the type of device, so reducing thepossibility of connection errors.

Configuration of digital modules is simple and requiresneither special tools nor specialist knowledge.
