National Workshop on “Scientific / Research Paper Writing” jointly organized by Department of

Chemistry, SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amaravti and The National Academy of Sciences,

Allahabadwas inaugurated on 4th March 2016 at A.V. Theater, SantGadge Baba Amravati

University, Amravati.

The workshop was inaugurated, at the hands of chief guest of the programme was Prof. U.C.

Srivastava, General Secretary (HQ), NASI, Allahabad, who has briefed the audiences about activity

of Academy and objectives of workshop.Program was chaired by Dr. V.S. Sapakal, Hon’ble Vice

Chancellor, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. Guest of honour was Prof. Paramjit

Khurana, University of Delhi, Delhi .The gracious presence of Dr. F.C. RaghuwanshiDean,

Faculty of Science, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati,Dr. K.Satyanarayan, ICMR,

New Delhi, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. P.C.Abhilash, BHU, Varanasi and Dr Santosh Kr. Shuklawere

the other speakers of the workshop. Chief guest Prof. U.C. Srivastava urged all the partcipants that

they should go for only good journals for publishing data instead of going for numbers. He also

expected that your research results must go to maximum readers so thatthey may get motivation.Dr.

thanks whereas program compered by Dr. M. M. Kodape.

Lecture sessions I

Dr. Paramjit Khurana started the session on the topic “scientific paper writing”. She very nicely

presented the art of writing in her talk and how paper writing should be done?she explained essential

ingredients for reserach such as passion, commitment, observation, planning, imagination, references,

language, presentation affects scientific paper writing.She also explained motivation behind her

research work.

Second lecture was delivered by Dr. U. C. Shriwastava on “concept of building and developing the

hypothesis”. In this he explained about effective selection of title of paper, survey of literature,

hypothesis, various steps, objectives of scientific paper writing, the theories behind hypothesis along

with reasoning. He explained various experiments in the development of hypothesis.

Sessions II

Third lecture was delivered by Dr. Pramajit Khurana on “Key elements in effective writing of grant

proposals”, idea, how to write a grant proposalfor various funding agencies , collecting all stratigies

together, what you want to do, problems you want to solve, justification of the idea, funding

opportunities, goals, action plan, literature survey, style quotient.

Fourth lecture was delivered by Dr. K. Sathyanarayana explained about where to publish research

work and how to choose the best journal or publication, impact factor and other indices, how to write

scientific paper, how to communicated paper, basic publishing standards, timeline of publication,

editorial content, international board, global authorship, ciatation data, criteria for selection.

On05-03-2016, Saturday

Fifth lecture was delivered by Dr. K. Sathyanarayana lecture with unethical practices in scientific

publications and the role of authorship. Where he explained ethics, research misconduct, falsification,

plagiarism, guidelines for authorship.How one has to avoid copy cut paste whilr writing the research

paper. Sixth lecture was delivered by Dr. P. C. Abhilash, BHU and he nicely explained about revising

the manuscript, reply to editor,pointwise reply publication process, peer reviews, editorial decisions

and about journals etc..

Sessions IV

Seventh lecture was delivered by Dr. NeerajKumar,Executivesecretory, NASI, and he explained

about various forms of misconduct, reworking the puzzels, good review, ice berg effect, pitfalls to

avoid in writing the proposal, reasons for unsuccessful proposal.

The workshop was concluded by the valedictory function Chaired by Dr. J.A. Tidke Hon’ble Ex-Pro

Vice-Chancellor, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.The speakers and audience

who have attended the workshop were from various parts of the country and more than 200

participants attended .The workshop has been well appreciated by one and all.All chemistry

fraternity of the department and PG student community made the event a grand success.

Bioinformatics is essentially an important part of all life sciences disciplines now a days. The

computational tools and methods are contributing to this field are of immence significance in terms of

time and efforts being put forth by experimental biologists. The same also helps in cost reduction at

experimental screening of the lead molecules. The Life sciences based industries have great deal of

applications of such computational methods. It is necessary to inculcate these skills and expertise

through systematic training of human resource by exposing young scholars to modern and

sophisticated tools related to Bioinformatics. Keeping this in mind, an introductory level workshop

which is aimed at specially Post Graduate students in the area of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and

other life science disciplines. The primary objective of the workshop is to provide practical hands on

training in bioinformatics. This event is open for Post graduate students and Researchers in Life

sciences affiliated with University/ Colleges with keen interest in this area.

About Workshop:

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of electronic educational technology (also called e learning) courses or training programs. While teachers are certainly trained and mentally equipped in academic subject, but they need training to handle new technology and understand educational psychology. It is important for teachers to understand the student’s need in this technology scenario and helping them to achieve their goals. It is therefore necessary that teachers must acquire the knowledge required to deal with the new technology in research and teaching methods. Online learning opportunities, use of open educational resources and other technologies can increase educational productivity by accelerating the rate of learning; reducing cost associated with instrumental material or programme delivery; better utilising teachers’ time. Universities are also expected to have a strategy to ensure that the positive outcome of these innovations in teaching percolate to the classroom level. Therefore to stress the adaptation of new technology in research and teaching, we are embarking on the task of organising “Train the Trainers: Six Days Training program on Soft Skills, LMS & E-Content” for University Faculty.

Protecting original ideas and inventions is essential in today’s knowledge-based economy. Universities too are making increasing use of the patent system to safeguard and commercially exploit their research results and to facilitate technology transfer to industry partners. Today's students are the engineers, researchers, lawyers, politicians and managers of tomorrow, and it is important that they embark on their careers with at least a basic knowledge of the patent system. There is a real source of inventiveness and creativity in every country and must be harnessed and supported and we believe that vast academic potential and exceptional talent of our university must be used for the benefit for the society.

The workshop is being organised jointly by Patent Cell, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and RUSA, Govt. of Maharashtra. The workshop aims to raise IP awareness and improve IP education by integrating and developing IP teaching in university. It offers a unique opportunity for you to encourage and extend IP knowledge at all levels of academia and beyond.

The workshop is being organized for PG teachers, Ph.D. Supervisors, Research scholars and Fresh Ph.D. holders of Science, Engineering and Law faculties.

College Principals are requested to permit at least five Ph.D. supervisors along with their two research scholars.

Of Marathi. Main objectives of course were (i) To enhance the participants

understanding of cinema in all it's dimensions including aesthetic, creative,

communicative, industrial & commercial. (2) To import skills in contextualizing an

Equipment Handling Skill Programme was conducted for science and

technology students in the Department of Physics during 21/09/2018 to 29/09/2018. The

programme was started with formal inauguration under the chairmanship of Dr. Kapil

Kamble, Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati

University, Amravati.

Total 32 students from Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry departments

were actively participated. The eminent resource persons Dr. G.G. Muley, Dr. Manisha

Kodape were demonstrated and taken hands on training on UV-Vis Spectrophotometer,

TG-DTA gravimetry. The students were handled basic equipment’s like Spin

coater, Digital oscilloscope, Digital multimeter, Digital pH meter etc.

The information regarding the awareness of the equipment was given to the students.

All students were informed about Safety and First Aid. The last day of the program

was concluded with the awarding of certificates to the students.

PPT Skills ) Workshop conducted on power point presentation making skill

A ten day workshop on "Power Point Presentation making skill" was organized by skill

development centre, SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati from 28 January 2019

to 5th February, 2019. The venue for this workshop was Department of Chemistry, The main

objective of the Workshop was to familiarize participants with the ideas and skills on how to

make power point presentation effective. The programme also aimed to teach participants to

enhance their presentation skills in order to improve their professional and social settings

effectively needed in future.

In this context the ten-day workshop was organized for Post Graduate students. The

workshop adopted the processes demonstration-cum-discussion, presentation/lecture

cumdiscussion, group work, assignments etc.Convener of this workshop was

Dr.HemantKhadake, Co convener were Dr. J.M. Barbde and Dr. M.M. Kodape. Resource

Google Class Room Training Program (21-25 Jan 2019)

As per the decision of Board of IT and Suggestion of Hon’ble V. C.,

Google Class Room training program is the need of current era of

Information Technology. UGC also emphasizing on the MOOCs,

SWAYAM, Google Classroom and e- content development.

To have a progressive step in this direction Hon’ble V. C. has

suggested to organize the Google Class Room training program,

accordingly during 21-25 Jan 2019, one day Google Class Room training

program was organized in the department of Computer Science for all

faculties of Teaching Departments of University Campus including CHB

faculties.

The program was organized in the department of Computer

Science & Engg and Dr. Sherekar, Dr. V. M Thakare, Prof Bhoyar, Prof

Pachpande, Dr. S. N. Kale, Prof Solanke, Prof A. S. Jaiswal worked as

the resource persons. Department provided all the required facilities and

resources to conduct the said program.

Startup India Maharashtra Yatra

Startup India, Maharashtra had organized “Startup India Maharashtra Yatra” with

an aim to scout grass root level entrepreneurs in the smaller towns of India. This Yatra

had provided a platform for budding entrepreneurs to realize their Startup dream by

getting incubated at excellent facilities and taking their idea to the next level. Startup

Yatra van had travelled to 23 stops across districts. Interested participants had

registered themselves for the boot camp on 23.10.2018 at Govt. Polytechnic Amravati.

“Student Innovation, Start-ups and Ecosystem”` Competition

Annual National Project Competition “Student Innovation, Start-ups and

Ecosystem”` was organised during 25 - 26. March, 2019 at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati

University. This competition comprises the programs like round table, master-class

seminars, doctoral colloquium, policy boot camps, hands-on-workshop and case study

presentations related to participants’ projects models. The core idea of this endeavour

was to provide platform to academic researchers, practicing professional and various

states engaged in start-up India efforts to share their efforts and experiences in pre-

incubation/student innovation/incubation and start-up support efforts. Total 350

students participated in the program.

Symposium on Bio-Fuel

The Symposium on Bio-Fuel was organised by Innovation, Incubation & Linkages of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and in collaboration with Green Crude & Bio Fuel Foundation (Purti Group) Nagpur & Agro-Vision Nagpur on 22nd

May 2019. The participants in this symposium had discussed significant takeaways, tips, and recommended actions to maximize the investment for ethanol & other agricultural products.

The programme of Equipment Handling under Academic Skill Development Centre

was conducted for science and technology students in the Department of Physics during

14/09/2019 to /09/2019. This two dayes programme (10 hrs) was started with formal

inauguration under the chairmanship of Dr. G.G. Muley, Assistant Professor and Head,

Department of Physics, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.

Total 25 students from Physics and chemistry and Biotech departments were actively

participated. The resource persons, Prof. Shivaji Dagdale, Vikas Hingawe, Dr. G.G. Muley,

were demostred and provide hands on training on the X-Ray diffractometer, UV- Vis

spectrometer, Photoluminescence spectrometer etc. The students re handled and trained

about basic equipment like Oscilloscope, Multimeter, pH meter, Centrifuge, calibration etc.

Report On

Google Class Room Training Program (30 Aug 2019)

As per the decision of Board of IT dated 03.07.2019 and Suggestion

of Hon’ble V. C., Google Class Room training program is the need of

current era of Information Technology. UGC also emphasizing on the

MOOCs, SWAYAM, Google Classroom and e- content development.

To have a progressive step in this direction Hon’ble V. C. has

suggested to organize the Google Class Room training program, again,

for those who was not able to attend and new CHB’s of academic year

2019-20. Accordingly on 30th Aug 2019, one day Google Class Room

training program was organized in the department of Computer Science

for all faculties of Teaching Departments of University Campus

including CHB faculties.

The program was organized in the department of Computer

Science & Engg and Dr. Sherekar, Dr. V. M Thakare, Prof Bhoyar, Prof

A. S. Jaiswal worked for the training program. Department provided all

the required facilities and resources to conduct the said program.

The complete report of the said program is attached herewith.

Total 21 faculties registered for the said program. Department wise

involvement of the faculties in the program is attached h/w in graphical

form, along with that graphical analysis regarding the regular faculties

and CHBs registered for the said program is also attached h/w.
