Research Projects

2021-… A research project focusing on sustainable fashion supply chain management has been

progressing. An article entitled “A novel neutrosophical approach in stakeholder analysis for sustainable

fashion supply chains” has been published in Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management in 2022.

Also, an article entitled “Sürdürülebilir moda için bütünleşik bir yaklaşım önerisi: İkinci el kıyafet

alışverişinde etkili olan kriterlerin anlaşılması ve analizi // An integrated methodology proposal for

sustainable fashion: Understanding and examining criteria affecting the second-hand clothes shopping”

has been published in Journal of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Gazi University in

2022. A conference paper entitled “Sürdürülebilir Moda Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi Uygulamaları//

Sustainable Fashion Supply Chain Management Practices” has been presented in 11. Ulusal Lojistik ve

Tedarik Zinciri Kongresi on May 12nd, 2022, and a conference paper entitled “Moda Endüstrisi Çalışma

Koşullarına Yönelik Bir Literatür Araştırması// A Literature Review on Fashion Industry Working

Conditions” has been presented in 27. Ulusal Ergonomi Kongresi on 26th March 2022. A conference

paper entitled “Moda Endüstrisinde Sürdürülebilir Lojistik Uygulamaları // Sustainable Logistics

Practices in Fashion Industry” has been presented in V. National Transportation and Logistics Congress.

Another conference paper entitled “Moda Endüstrisinde Yapay Zeka Uygulamaları” has been presented

in the national “40. Yöneylem Araştırması ve Endüstri Mühendisliği” congress. An article entitled

“Küresel Salgın Döneminde Değişen Sürdürülebilir Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi Uygulamaları // The

Changing Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices During the Pandemics Period” has been

published in Journal of Design, Architecture and Engineering.

2021-… A research project focusing on servicizing business model of transportation has been

conducted. The article “A new servicizing business model of transportation: Comparing the new and

existing alternatives via neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process” that is highlighting the customer

priorities in car-sharing servicizing business models has been published in the journal of Neutrosophic

Sets and Systems which is supported by the TİKTAK car rental mobile application company

representatives. Also, the article entitled “A new servicizing business model of transportation:

Comparing the new and existing alternatives via neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process” has been

published in the Computers & Industrial Engineering journal.

2021-2022 A research project for theoretical foundations and applications neutrosophic sets and

systems has been conducted. In this context, the book chapters entitled "A novel neutrosophic

Interpretive Structural Modeling approach: Hierarchical visual graphs of indeterminate causalities", and

"The role of the paper packaging industry in the circular economy: The causal relationship analysis via

neutrosophic cognitive maps" which has supported by the WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER Turkey

office have been published in the Advances and Applications of Fuzzy Sets and Logic book.

2020-2022 A research project entitled Industry 4.0 researches conducted in Turkey including

country-based comparison studies, financial infrastructure transformation researches, Industry 4.0

education requirement, industrial engineering approach to various business departments, and the

investigation of firms and sectors was finalized. Four conference papers were presented in the 3rd

International Conference on Life and Engineering Sciences (December 11-13, 2020, İstanbul). And a

final manuscript has been published as an article in Journal of Turkish Operations Management with

the title of “Türkiye'de yürütülen Endüstri 4.0 araştırmaları // Industry 4.0 researches conducted in

Turkey”.

2020 - 2022 The effect of feature selection approach for the churn analysis in the Turkish

telecommunication sector was examined with the support of TURKCELL. An article entitled “The

Attitudes of the Telecommunication Customers in the COVID-19 Outbreak: The Effect of the Feature

Selection Approach in Churn Analysis” is published in Sakarya University Journal of Science in 2022.

2020 - 2021 An article (as a part of LÖKAP project) named “Analysis of barriers in medical tourism

during the COVID-19 pandemic” is published in the Journal of Design, Architecture and Engineering,

which is supported by the experts of BATIGÖZ HOSPITAL and DENTAL ESTETİK CENTER.

2019 – 2020 A book chapter (as a part of LÖKAP project) called “Predicting the medical tourism

demand of Turkey” is published in the book “Industrial engineering in the digital disruption era”. This

project was supported by the HOSPITADENT which is a leading actor of dental tourism.

2018 – 2019 I have conducted a research examining the Industry 4.0 projects at BOSCH Automotive

Turkey with the aim of determining the Industry 4.0 (I4.0) adoption challenges and analyzing these

barriers based on the expert opinions. As an output the article named “An interpretive structural analysis

for industry 4.0 adoption challenges” is published in the IEEE Transactions on Engineering

Management journal. The barriers were investigated in a structural base, the relationships between these

challenges have been identified, and finally how barriers affect each other have been presented in order

to discover the root cause triggering the other factors.

2017 – 2021 An academic research (a part of my MSc thesis) named “Defining and modeling risks

in service supply chains” is about to be published by the International Journal of Industrial Engineering:

Theory, Applications and Practice. The research was supported by the Logistics Association (LODER)

members.

2017 – 2020 An academic research (a part of my PhD thesis) named “A conceptual model of medical

tourism service supply chain” was published by the Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management.

The research was supported by the “Turkish Healthcare Travel Council (THTC)” and “Foreign

Economic Relations Board (DEIK) – Health Business Council” experts. This research, we have

suggested a conceptual model of the medical tourism service supply chain with definitions of supply

chain processes and supply chain members. The suggested conceptual model enhances our

understanding of the medical tourism service supply chain concept and structure, identifies its business

partners and defines the business processes. The proposed conceptual model was presented to healthcare

management academicians and business authorities at the 8th International Health Tourism Congress.

2017 – 2019 I have been a part of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) adoption project at

BUZKAP Refrigeration company manufacturing tailor-made display refrigerators with the purpose of

structural modeling and analysis of ERP implementation barriers. The research has been resulted in the

article “Structural modeling and analysis of enterprise resource planning implementation barriers”

which is published by Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences.

2016 – 2017 I have participated the assembly line balancing project at TEKSO Technical

Refrigeration company with the aim of combining a methodology to help decision makers in evaluating

and selecting the most effective hybrid part feeding system. The article “Design methodology for a

hybrid part feeding system in lean-based assembly lines" is published by Assembly Automation journal

as a consequence of this project.
