Life in the City

Nowadays, it is becoming easier to live in a large city. Most people prefer living in cities because there are many advantages compared to the countryside. Living in the city is more comfortable. There are also many more opportunities in the city. The employment rate is much higher in the city and there are more facilities available. This gives people a better chance to make a lot of money. Education is better as well. Children can go to schools with great teachers and services. Some of the best universities in the world are in cities. After graduation, the students will have job opportunities right outside of their university campus. Healthcare is also fantastic. The government hospitals are better than the countryside. Health care isn’t the only service that’s easy to access. There are many service places such as banks, post offices, and offices around the city. Living in the city is never boring. There is so much entertainment available and everybody can find something they enjoy. For example, there are big shopping malls, theaters, clubs, sporting events, parks and concerts. Transportation is also much easier in the city. There are public services such as the bus or the subway to help get around the city. Everybody has access to electricity, highways, telephone and internet services and plumbing easier in the city. All of these benefits are the reasons why life in the city is great.

Like everything, there are disadvantages to the city as well. Sometimes it is hard to find peace in the city. Life moves very fast and it is very noisy. That’s why many people take their vacation in the countryside. Public transportation is available to everybody, but if you travel in a car, you will often sit in traffic for hours. Cities are often dirtier than the countryside. The streets, the air and the water are very dirty. There are so many people that it is hard for a city to manage the trash. While everybody has access to water, it is usually much dirtier than in the countryside. Also, the opportunity for employment is much higher, but it’s extremely competitive.
