Peroutingan dengan RIP (Routing Information Protokol)

Latar BelakangRIP (Routing Information Protokol)ini lahir dikarenakan RIP merupakan bagian utama dari Protokol Routing IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) yang berfungsi menangani perutean dalam suatu sistem autonomous (sebuah koleksi end-system router yang di bawah kendali sebuah manajemen) pada jaringan TCP/IP.

Pengertian RIP (Routing Information Protokol)

RIP adalah protokol routing dinamik yang berbasis distance vector (proses routing berdasarkan arah dan jarak). RIP menggunakan protokol UDP pada port 520 untuk mengirimkan informasi routing antar router. RIP menghitung routing terbaik berdasarkan perhitungan HOP. RIP membutuhkan waktu untuk melakukan converge. RIP membutuhkan power CPU yang rendah dan memory yang kecil daripada protokol yang lainnya.

Karakteristik RIP (Routing Information Protokol)

1. Distance vector routing protocol2. Hop count sebagai metric untuk memilih rute3. Maximum hop count 15, hop ke 16 dianggap unreachable4. Secara default routing update 30 detik sekali5. RIPv1 (classfull routing protocol) tidak mengirimkan subnet

mask pada update6. RIPv2 (classless routing protocol) mengirimkan subnet

Keterbatasan RIP (Routing Information Protokol)

1. METRIC: Hop CountRIP menghitung routing terbaik berdasarkan hop count dimana belum tentu hop count yang rendah menggunakan protokol LAN yang bagus, dan bisa saja RIP memilih jalur jaringan yang lambat.

2. Hop Count LimitRIP tidak dapat mengatur hop lebih dari 15. hal ini digunakan untuk mencegah loop pada jaringan.

3. Classful Routing OnlyRIP menggunakan classful routing ( /8, /16, /24 ). RIP tidak dapat mengatur classless routing.

CARA  KERJA  RIP

• Host mendengar pada alamat broadcast jika ada update routing dari gateway.

• Host akan memeriksa terlebih dahulu routing table lokal jika menerima update routing .

• Jika rute belum ada, informasi segera dimasukkan ke routing table .

• Jika rute sudah ada, metric yang terkecil akan diambil sebagai acuan.

• Rute melalui suatu gateway akan dihapus jika tidak ada update dari gateway tersebut dalam waktu tertentu 

• Khusus untuk gateway, RIP akan mengirimkan update routing pada alamat broadcast di setiap network yang terhubung

Konfigurasi Jaringan 1

Pada konfigurasi PC lakukan dengan mengisikan Ip Address, Subnet Mask,dan Gateway.Sesuai dengan tabel PC 1 dan PC 2 pada konfigurasi router isikan dengan Ip address dan Subnet mask.

Pada port status aktifkan dengan memberi checklist on agar router dapat bekerja.

Konfigurasi jaringan 3Pada proses konfigurasi PC 5 sama dengan PC sebelumnya sesuai tabel namun pada konfigurasi router ada port serial yang harus ditambahkan yaitu dengan cara:• Masuk ke physical router 7• Matikan tombol saklar• Arahkan cursor pada

WIC-2T• Drag ke port yang masih kosong• Selanjutnya hidupkan saklar

Konfigurasi Jaringan 4 (Jaringan router)

Gambar di atas merupakan rangkaian 1 jaringan, karena network id sama pada kelas C yaitu pada Jaringan 192.168.6 … sedangkan host id mulai dari 1 sampai 6 sesuai dengan tabel

Konfigurasi Serial

o Klik pada router yang akan di setting arahkan salah satu ke port serial isikan IP address dan subnet mask secara otomatis berubah sesuai kelas dari Ip address yang diisikan sesuai pada tabel.

o Port status aktifkan dengan memberi check listo Clock Rate setting pada 128000 dan pada semua router dalam rangkaian ini harus

disamakan.

Langkah Selanjutnya

• Setting konfigurasi interface serial pada router 2, 3, 4sesuai dengan langkah sebelumnya

• Setalah konfigurasi router pada jaringan 4 selesai kemudian kita dapat mensetting interface serial pada router 0 sesuai pada tabel.

• Untuk proses selanjutnya yaitu meroutingkan router dengan versi routing RIP (Routing Information Protocol)

Untuk proses peroutingan perintah yang digunakan

Peroutingan RIP dapat dilakukan dengan 2 cara yaitu perintah GUI dan mengetikkan pada CLI:Pada GUI

Klik router yang akan diroutingkan →masuk Config →Routing Rip →masukan netID alamat yang akan dituju pada kolom yang telah tersedia klik ”Add”

Mengetikkan pada CLI

• Setelah pensettingan selesai keluar dari CLI dan secara otomatis perintah yang telah di ketikkan dapat tersimpan sendiri

• Untuk selanjutnya pilih router yang akan disetting peroutingan nya

Kesimpulan :

1. Pada router tidak semua physical membutuhkan port tambahan.

2. Pada router 2811, port HWIC-4ESW sampai port WIC-cover tidak

dapat digunakan pada port NM-1E sampai port NM-ESW-161 dan

pada router 2811, port WIC-1AM sampai port WIC-cover juga tidak

dapat digunakan pada port NM-1E sampai port NM-cover karena

port HWIC-4ESW sampai port WIC-cover dan port WIC-1AM

sampai port WIC-cover bukan tempat port tersebut karena ukurannya

yang kecil.
