I. DJIUGO RIDING SCHOOL COMPETITION

- 3 show series (18-19 November 2017, 24-25 February 2018, Final 14-15 April 2018)

- Riding school in this context; is meant by a stable that has one or more trainers, with at least 2 horses that provides riding services and lessons to members.

- Only students and/or riding school owners are allowed to participate. No grooms or trainers/professionals are allowed to compete.

- Competitors must be enrolled as members under a riding school

- Competitors that is permitted to compete in this competition is those who have not competed in the 1.00cm class for more than 5 times and have been placed in such classes or higher

- Entries must be submitted by each riding schools and must be approved by the event organizers/committee

- Event organizers have the right to alter and decline entries

- Classes will be divided into 3 groups (categorized by age; <15, 15-21, Open), please note; classes may also be combined (first competition series) depending on the number of entries available

- Point system (Saturday) to be applied to the respective riding schools, at the end of the series the best riding school will receive the Djiugo Annual Trophy and monetary compensation (Best 3 entries of each club will be counted for points)

- If any changes in the classes apply, it will only be applied prior to the first competition series. The second and third series will follow the first competition in classes and will not change

- For pure educational purposes, jumping courses will be equitation classes on Saturday.

- In between classes will be games for families to participate and enjoy in the festivities (Ride & Drive (Teams/Per Club) with the Pro’s, Roll the Bandage, etc.)

- Riding School dalam konteks ini; dimaksudkan dengan stable yang memiliki satu atau lebih pelatih, dengan setidaknya 2 kuda yang menyediakan layanan berkuda dan latihan berkuda kepada anggota.





- Hanya siswa dan/atau pemilik riding school yang diperbolehkan untuk berpartisipasi. Groom atau pelatih/profesional yang diizinkan untuk mengikut serta dalam pertandingan ini.

- Peserta harus terdaftar sebagai member di dalam riding school

- Peserta yang diijinkan bertanding dalam kompetisi ini adalah peserta yang belum bertanding di kelas 1,00cm lebih dari 5 kali dan belum pernah juara di kelas seperti itu atau lebih tinggi.

- Entry harus diserahkan oleh masing-masing riding school dan harus disetujui oleh penyelenggara/panitia acara

- Event organizer memiliki hak untuk mengubah dan menolak entri

- Kelas akan dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok (dikategorikan berdasarkan usia; <15, 15-21, Open), harap diperhatikan; kelas juga bisa digabungkan (seri kompetisi pertama) tergantung dari jumlah entri yang tersedia

- Sistem poin (Sabtu) akan diterapkan kepada masing-masing riding school. Pada akhir dari 3 seri, riding school terbaik akan menerima Djiugo Riding School Trophy dan juga prize money. Sebesar; Rp 10.000.000,-

- Jika ada perubahan kategori kelas perubahan akan diterapkan sebelum seri pertama. Seri kedua dan ketiga akan mengikuti kompetisi pertama dan kelas yang ditandingkan tidak akan berubah

- Untuk tujuan pendidikan pada hari sabtu kompetisi jumping akan menggunakan peraturan equitation

- Akan ada games-games berdkuda untuk keluarga, arena party dan groom untuk berpartisipasi dan menikmati dalam keramaian pertandingan (Ride & Drive (Tim / Per Club) dengan Pro's, Roll the Bandage, dll.)





Competition Guidelines

II. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

The event will be held in accordance with - FEI General Regulation, 23rd edition 1st January 2009, updates effective 1st

January 2018 - FEI Dressage Rules, 25th edition, effective 1 January 2014, updates effective 1st

January 2018 - FEI Jumping Rules, 25th edition, 1st January 2014 Updates effective 1st January

2018 Stabling

- Rp 150.000.- Temporary Stabling

Because of the limited number of temporary & permanent stabling available, organizers have the right to alter the placements of stables if necessary.

Entry Closing Date

- Entries will be received latest 09nd April, 2018 o Entry closed 17:00, 09nd April, 2018

- Entries submitted after that date will be charged an additional Rp 100.000,- for the delay - Depending on the number of entries, organizers have the right to decline entries after the

closing date.

WAIVER FORM/ FORMULIR PELEPASAN HAK Waiver form must be signed by each rider participating in the event. Riders under the age of 18 must also submit a guardian consent, to be returned with entry forms. Formulir pernyataan harus di kembalikan setelah ditandatangani oleh atlit yang akan bertanding. Bagi yang masih berumur dibawah 18 tahun harus ditandatangani wali yang bersangkutan. All participant are required to fulfill all the necessary forms, including the waiver and liability form, as a mandatory requirement to enter the competition. Setiap peserta di wajibkan untuk mengisi segala macam form yang telah di sediakan termasuk for waiver dan liability sebagai syarat wajib dalam mengikuti pertandingan.





INSURANCE/ ASURANSI All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees, their agents and their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep their policy up to date. Pemilik kuda dan para peserta bertanggung jawab penuh atas segala kerusakan dan kehilangan yang disebabkan oleh diri, karyawan maupun oleh pihak ke tiga lainnya. Oleh karenanya sangat disarankan untuk melindunginya dengan asuransi.

Show Jumping Rules

Art 269 Accumulator Competition

1. This Competition takes place over six, eight or ten obstacles with an increasing difficulty. Combination obstacles are not allowed. The increasing difficulty is not solely due to the height and spread of the obstacles, but also to the difficulty of the track.

2. Bonus points are awarded as follows: one point for obstacle number one not knocked down, two points for number two, three points for number three, etc. with a total of 21, 36 or 55 points. No point is awarded for an obstacle knocked down. Faults other than knock-downs are penalized as for Table A.

3. This Competition may take place either with the first round against the clock without a jump-off, or against the clock or not against the clock with a jump-off in case of equality of points for first place following the initial round. In case of a jump-off there will be a minimum of six obstacles, which may be increased in height and/or spread. The obstacles in the jump-off must be jumped in the same order as in the first round and retain their respective points allotted in the first round.

4. If the Competition takes place not against the clock with a jump-off, Athletes not qualified for the jump-off are placed according to their points obtained in the first round, disregarding the time. If the Competition takes place with the first round against the clock and a jump-off, Athletes not qualified for the jump-off are placed according to Penalties and time obtained in the first round.

5. For the last obstacle of the course, an alternative obstacle may be provided, of which one element may be designated the Joker. The Joker must be more difficult than the alternative obstacle and carry double points. If the Joker is knocked down, these points must be deducted from the total points obtained so far by the Athlete. 5.1 As an option, the Joker may be placed after the finish line, in which case it is not part of the main course and the following formula must be used: after the Athlete has crossed the finish line his time is recorded and he has 20 seconds in which to attempt the Joker once should he so choose. If the Joker is correctly jumped, the Athlete earns double points of the last obstacle of the main course. If the Joker is knocked down (JRs Art. 217.1), these double points must be deducted from the total points obtained so far by the Athlete. In case of a fall of Athlete or Horse after crossing the finish line but within the 20 seconds





available to jump the Joker, the Athlete will not be eliminated but will keep the points he had accumulated prior to crossing the finish line.

Point Systems: (Rider point system and Best Riding School Point System)

- Rider: Up to 15 places is counted for points. - Team: Based on accumulated points of the 3 best riders. - Minimum of 15 riders to get full points - If the number of competitors is less than 10, therefore the maximum points will be

determined by the lowest amount of competitors. Eliminating the highest possible point. (will be elaborated thoroughly before the competition begins)

Equitation Rules:

- Penalties The following penalties apply and are deducted from the score:

- Dress and Presentation

The presentation mark for riders must be judged on the general appearance as the combination enter the ring and await the bell. Neatness is the first requisite. The mark is for the overall impression of a well-groomed rider on a well-groomed horse with correctly fitted and clean gear. Whips and spurs are optional.

- Falls Fall of horse or rider will incur elimination no points are retained. If this occurs during the ride off in a Championship Class, the competitor will be placed last of all those chosen to ride-off.

Notes for the competitors at the competition

1. GEAR & DRESS – clean, neat and appropriate tack 2. Walk course. Check for tests and learn these before walking the course 3. Enter the ring in working trot or a 2 point or light 3 point canter 4. Proceed to judge/s – halt and salute. Allow time for the judges to do the presentation

mark 5. After receiving the bell prepare with a 2-point or a light 3-point seat – canter circle and

then begin.





6. Finish with a complete circle at the end of the round and a smooth downward transition from a 2-point or a light 3-point position and leave the arena in walk.

7. COLLECT SCORESHEET after completion of the class

RIDER POSITION: CORRECT TECHNIQUE

Basic position is divided into four principal parts.

1. The leg from the knee down which is your SECURITY 2. The BASE OF SUPPORT which includes thigh and seat 3. The UPPER BODY which is everything above the base including the eyes 4. Arms and hands

The rider must maintain supple hip, knee and ankle joints to allow the angles to open and close as the horse moves.

The perfect Equitation round should be one of rhythm, fluency and precision.

LEGS • The ball of the foot is positioned on the stirrup • The heel is down and in just behind the girth • The toe is slightly turned out to establish contact with the calf • The leg is held just behind the back edge of the girth • Thighs lie flat. • The ankle must be flexible. The leg position does not alter in flatwork or jumping work, slow work or in fast work; in fact, the only time when it is appropriate for the leg to be out of this position is when it is being used behind the girth for flying changes and control of the quarters. Your leg aid therefore is not a constant movement but rather an altering of degrees of pressure.

EYES The rider’s head should be up and eyes looking to line, vision parallel to the ground. Good eyes are vital for directional control and maintaining rider position. The eyes only may be dropped when checking diagonals or leads in beginner classes, but it is preferable to know these by feel.

SEATPOSITIONS An Equitation round is ridden ‘with the motion’. The seat must be versatile, alternating between 2- point and 3-point contact.

TWO POINT SEAT POSTION In the 2-point seat the two main points of contact are the rider’s 2 legs with the weight well in the heels. The seat bones are out of the saddle but the seat must be positioned over the centre of the saddle at all times. The 2-point seat the rider’s upper body angle is forward, with the shoulder no further forward than the knee. Use: over obstacles and on straight and bending lines, if the horse is correctly educated and balanced.

LIGHT THREE POINT SEAT POSTION Light 3 point seat is similar in appearance to the 2 point seat, in that the upper body angle remains in the forward position, but may combe back a shade. However the rider has lowered the front of the seat into the saddle for a 3rd point of contact. Use: into turns to adjust the horse’s pace in a smooth manner and gain more balance or control on a line as part of a half halt.





THREE POINT SEAT POSTION The 3 point seat’s 3rd point of contact is the seat bones as well as the 2 lower legs. The upper body is still slightly ahead of vertical, so that the rider is still “with the motion” in jumping length stirrups. Use: allows the use of stronger leg aids when the horse is disobedient e.g. shying/refusing at an obstacle or bolting, where the upper body acts as a brake.

HANDS Hands should be placed above and slightly in front of the withers, as wide as the horse’s mouth is wide. The Hand, positioned with the thumb on top and little finger on the outside of the rein encourages a combination of strength and softness. The contact should be elastic, with a straight line from elbow to the bit.

RELEASES There are several choices determined by the level of skill of the rider and level of education of the horse:- a) Long crest release with mane – the elbow angle opens until the hands reach approximately one-third of the way up the crest. This release is used to stabilize the rider’s upper body, prevent abuse of the horse’s mouth and to develop the horse’s correct jumping technique. b) Long crest release – reaches the same place but without mane, with hands on top of the horse’s crest. c) Short crest release – the elbow angle opens a little with the hands on top of the horse’s crest just in front of the horse wither. d) Automatic release – hands follow a direct line towards the horse’s mouth maintaining a steady contact with the bit, and independent of the crest and neck.

UPPER BODY The upper body is held with the shoulder no further forward than the knee. The rider’s angle is closed by the horse as he jumps. The back is flat, the shoulders square and relaxed and the head held up. The upper body must be positioned over the leg. The hip should not be either in front or behind the lower leg, if it is, balance is not achieved and the rider cannot be in motion with his horse. The upper body should be with the motion but never ahead because this jeopardizes the rider’s security.

PROPER EVEN STRIDES





Horse Welfare:

- Horses are allowed to compete under different riders, however must be a maximum of 4 classes per day (preferably 2 dressage and 2 jumping)

- Stewards, organizers & Judges have the right to stop the competitors from competing based on the welfare and condition of the horse

- Kuda diperbolehkan bertanding dengan penunggang yang berbeda, namun maksimal 4 kelas per hari (sebaiknya 2 dressage dan 2 jumping)

- Stewards, organizers & Judges berhak menghentikan peserta untuk bertanding apabila kesehetan dan kondisi kuda sudah dianggap tidak sehat

B. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RULES AND REGULATIONS i. to abide by all the rules and regulations of the Organizer as in force from time to time; ii. to refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages or using any substances in a manner which would decrease or impair my

level of performance during my participation in the sporting activities of the Competition; iii. to refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct or any conduct bringing discredit upon the Competition including without

limitation physically or verbally assaulting or abusing any official, competitor, spectator, volunteer or any person involved in the conduct and management of the Competition and that any such conduct may meet with expulsion form the Competition and appropriate criminal or civil action against me; and

iv. to be filmed, photographed or interviewed as a participant in the Competition when requested to do so by any officer or official of the Organizer.

v. I acknowledge that I execute this 'General Release of Liability and Waiver' and ‘Acknowledgement of Rules and Regulations’ freely and voluntary, and do not rely on any inducements, promises or representations made by the aforementioned organization or individuals involved in the Competition, or any person associated in any way with the Competition.
