Dalam melakukan analisis Geoteknik dari suatu Pit, harus dicari terlebih dahulu arah umum kekar didalam suatu lereng. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Scanline yaitu dengan membuat suatu garis lurus yang memiliki kemiringan maksimal 20 yang dibuat tegak lurus terhadap bidang-bidang kekar. Kemudian dari masing-masing kekar diukur arah Strike dan Dipnya, kemudian diplotkan di Polar Equal Area Net dari Struktur tersebut. Kemudian Diplotkan ke dalam Kalsbeek Net untuk membuat Contour Plot, sehingga diketahui arah umum Joint Set kemudian dilakukan analisis Single Slope dan Overall Slope dari Pit tersebut.
