Our sweeping journey, rom Bali to Saigon, reveals a world o ascinating cultures, luxuriant

landscapes, prismatic undersea gardens, and tropical ora, auna, and marine lie that simply

bae the imagination with their breadth o diversity. In a region dened more by water than

by land, our voyage aboard the intimate, 110-passenger Clipper Odysseyis the ultimate way toexplore its hidden, exquisite wonders.

Te ever-changing scenery presents an Equatorial cross-section o palm-anned islets, cloud-piercing volcanoes, lush and primeval rain orests, and a patchwork o emerald rice elds.

For photographers, the nuances o light during the course o a day add depth and drama to

    every composition.

Culturally the rewards o this journey are both numerous and wondrous. Our time in Bali

coincides with the celebration o Nyepi, Balinese New Year, and we arrive the previous day

to share in the exuberant parades where evil spirits are set aame beore the island quiets and

ushers in the traditional day o silence. We also view the abled cratsmanship o Balineseartists: wood carvings, batik, and silver jewelry. As we sail into the Flores Sea, the people o

Sumba proudly display their ikats, beautiul hand-woven tapestries. On Sulawesi, we oer anoptional overnight excursion to the inland mountain villages o the oraja peoplewhoseboat-shaped houses and hillside cave tombs, protected by lie-size efgies, oer a look at a

hidden world that dees comparison to our own. And, as we cruise up the eastern edge o

Borneo, a stop in Kalimantan bring us to a traditional Dayak village where its people, dressed

in exquisitely beaded costumes, illustrate ancestral stories through songs and dances.

In the deep waters o the Banda and Flores Seas lies the Wallacea region, an invisible north-south demarcation line that divides Indonesia into two major biological realms and endows

it with the worlds most unusual mixes o ora, auna, and marine species that number in

the thousandsmaking wildlie viewing and snorkeling and diving voyage highlights. View

the worlds largest lizardthe gargantuan Komodo dragonclose-up in its native habitat.

Watch agile orangutans swinging eortlessly through Borneos jungle canopy at the Sepilok

Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. And scout or some o the numerous species o birds, such

as sulphur-crested cockatoos and megapodes as we explore rain orests, volcanic landscapes,

and beaches. Te regions clear warm waters showcase a dazzling array o pristine rees

sheltering an astonishing variety o marine lie rom anemones to giant tridacna clams.

I hope youll join our team o outstanding leaders and expert lecturers as we explore this

magical, mystical region at the westernmost edge o the Pacic.

    Warmest regards,
