Berlin Bunker toursA fascinating tour into the secret history
below the city’s streets, giving an insight into
the Home Front in Berlin during the WWII as
well as preparations made for nuclear attacks
during the Cold War.
Sachsenhausen Memorial SiteSachsenhausen was one of the earliest and
most significant concentration camps in Nazi
Germany. The history of the camp, including its
post-WWII use by the Soviet Union, is told with
detailed exhibitions as well as physical remains.
Topography of TerrorThis fascinating exhibition is contained within
the former cellars of Gestapo HQ, illustrating
the terrors and crimes of the Nazi era.
The new documentation centre and other
exhibitions are presented in both English and
German.
Hohenschönhausen Memorial (Stasi Prison) This former political prison for people detained
by the Stasi is now a museum which covers the
Stasi period and its origins as a Soviet Special
Prison. NST can arrange for a guided tour to be
taken by an ex-political prisoner.

Beijing This is the political, cultural and educational
centre of China, with historic buildings and
landmarks, contrasted by a modern and
vibrant city.
There is so much to take in. Walk the Great
Wall and the Sacred Way, visit the Ming Tombs,
venture into the Forbidden City, experience
the Temple of Heaven, marvel at the Summer
Palace and stroll across Tiananmen Square.
Shop ’til you drop at Silk Alley, take in the
Olympic Stadium, compare cultures in a
local high school and visit the traditional
Liumingying Village to witness life outside the
big cities.
You could even watch a Chinese Acrobat or
Legend Kung Fu Show, listen to the Peking
Opera and sample a Peking Duck Banquet.
Xi’an This ancient city is now famous as the home
of the spectacular Terracotta Warriors.
Students can also explore the City Walls, Wild
Goose Pagoda, Huaqing Hot Springs and the
numerous temples, ruins and mausoleums.
You may also wish to increase cultural learning

Shanghai China’s largest city is the flourishing focal

developments are the temples, markets and
Chinese gardens which give a glimpse into the
city’s past. Many groups in particular choose
to visit the Jade Buddha Temple, Oriental Pearl
TV Tower and Yuyuan Garden for an all-round
experience.
Nanjing Road is great for shopping. The
evening cruise on the Huangpu River is always
a favourite too. Shanghai also offers a great
