May Highlights
1. All NORD Rec Centers now have sensory Kits for any visitor with Autism or other related conditions. If patrons are in crisis or have a sensory overload, signage and sensory items are available at our front desk. Staff will also offer a quiet space in the facility.
2. On May 8th and 9th NORD held its 1st All Staff meeting under the new Executive Leadership, where Larry presented his vision and goals for the organization. The title of the meeting was “What’s your WHY?” Thank you to Commissioners Egana and Greenup for attending.
3. On May 13th, NORDF held its meet and greet Business reception releasing their NORD video.
4. On May 17th, NORD submitted for the 21CCLC Grant to expand programming for youth and teens.
5. AT&T and NORD held its annual Baseball Kickoff on Saturday, May 18th at Digby Playground. Over 400 participants joined in a day of baseball fun.

6. All 13 Summer only pools are prepped and ready for opening day.
7. Conducted successful Summer Lifeguard orientation and training sessions.
8. Cleaned Hunter’s Field grounds, building and provided staff for opening.
9. Completed work on Tennis Court # 1 at Historic Atkinson-Stern Tennis Center.
10. NORD conducted the Steven George Track Championship on May 15th and 16th. Harrell won Overall for both Boys and Girls.
11. On May 20th, NORD hosted a MANDATORY reporting training led by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for NORD staff. The training sessions focused on recognizing abuse, teen sexual awareness, and signs of child sex trafficking.
May Highlights
12. The ACT Prep Course ended on Sunday May 26, 2019. Attendance will be updated next week as I did not receive the attendance documents in time to put the information in this report.
*Average attendance has been 33 participants per class, which is 82.5% of the projected enrollment of 40 participants. The most participants to participate in the course is 36, which is 90% of the projected enrollment of 40 participants.
