A message from Luc HellinckxHead of MasterCard Academy
2014 promises to be an exciting year for MasterCard Academy and its customers across Europe. We are rapidly expanding our training opportunities so that we can offer you new seminars, more lan-guage options, and a fully revamped distance-learning solution called Academy on the Web (AOW). As always, we at MasterCard Academy are committed to developing our training catalogue so that it keeps abreast of – and even anticipates – the latest industry developments. One such example is the improved MasterCard Mobile Proximity Payments seminar which now gives you extra content on the business and operational aspects of mobile proximity payments. The more technical aspects will be covered in a brand new seminar entitled Technology of Mobile Proximity Payments. Another example is the Small Business Cards seminar which covers an area that is highly profitable but relatively under-exploited by MasterCard issuers in Europe.
Registered users with access to the AOW 2014 program will be entitled to a 50% discount on selected open enrollment (face-to-face) seminars from the MasterCard Academy’s 2014 program catalogue in the “Business Overview’’ category.
And in line with this philosophy, AOW is offering three levels of e-Learning modules: Get Started, Learn More, and Specialize. Each week, there will be an AOW ‘LIVE Event’ covering a topic that is key to the industry. Selected subjects will be available in local languages. And, of course, our content-rich Resource Center also includes recordings of LIVE Events. As you can see, our extensive range of face-to-face seminars and the wealth of information availa-ble via AOW prove that MasterCard Academy is here to help you actively expand your team’s skills and know-how. In the current financial climate, your staff – more than ever before – are one of your greatest assets. The most successful companies empower their staff to drive their business – to do that, training is essential. As you prepare for 2014 and future challenges and strategies, I strongly recommend these programs to you and hope you will take advantage of them. Through them, you will gain a greater understand-ing of the challenges and opportunities ahead, and will be much better equipped to address them. The Academy Faculty and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you at one of our seminars soon – either in person or on the web!
About the faculty
“Providing our participants and partners with the professional insights, skills and knowledge that enable them to be more successful and profitable in the payments industry.”
The MasterCard Academy draws on the strength of the global MasterCard organization for its dedi-cated expert trainers. Most members of the Academy faculty are MasterCard specialists whose daily activities give them up-to-the-minute knowledge on the subject areas in which they train.
Thanks to the global reach of MasterCard Worldwide our trainers can share with you best practices and recent developments from all over the world. The seminars are updated each time they are given and the information provided is relevant to the participants’ day-to-day responsibilities, so that learn-ing can be applied immediately ‘on the job’.
And with the development of Academy on the Web (AOW), the Academy is able to bring the train-ing seminar room into your office or PC on a 24/7 basis, further increasing training flexibility and the Academy’s ability to respond to industry developments and trends.
English is the standard language used for our seminars, but we also deliver selected seminars in Rus-sian, French, German and Italian. And by working with multilingual staff and interpreters, we are also able to offer customized seminars in other languages.
What the people say…
“The course was a good overview – it covered broad range of topics. I enjoyed course” Passport for Success
“Content was good, built on existing knowledge and also learned a number of new things that I hadn’t been able to learn - feel more confident about new role now.” Fraud Management for Issuers
