ACADEMIC AND CULTURAL EVENTS
National Youth Day National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas or Swamy Vivekananda Birthday ) is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm in India every year on 12th of January . It is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of
Swami Vivekananda, maker of modern India. It was first declared by the Government of India in the year 1984 to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as the National Youth Day . Since then (1985), it has started
celebrating National Youth Day all over the country . On the 153rd birthday of Swami Vivekananda with the theme of
2016 as “Indian Youth for Development, Skill and Harmony”. AIMS School of Hosp itality and tourism in coordination with AIMS Centre for Community Services had organized the
celebration of the same in AIMS Campus. Four different competitions were conducted for students of our college to
motivate towards Swami Vivekananda’s ideology and the competitions are as follows;
Essay Writing on the top ic ‘Role of Ethics in Empowering Youth’, Debate on the top ic ‘Relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s Ideology in Modern Scenario’ Short Video on the top ic ‘Youth Empowerment’
and Poster Making on the top ic ‘Youth Empowerment’ In all the competitions students from all departments participated with enthusiasm and came up with
new dimensions to the ideology of Swami Vivekananda. The p rogramme started with invocation by our student and p resentation of short videos on youth empowerment p repared by our students.
Followed by a welcome speech from Dr. Karunakara Raddy , Director, ACCS. Soon after the address of the chief guest the p rizes were distributed to the winners of all the competitions. The p rogramme was p resided over by our Principal, Dr. Kiran Reddy , in her Presidential address she mentioned the
importance of youth empowerment and Swami Vivekananda’s p rincip les in bringing about a great change in the Indian youth. The p rogramme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sheri Kurian,
Registrar, AIMS.
AIMS Culinary Expo- 2016
The Expo, a signature event of the Department of Hosp itality and Tourism Management, aimed to insp ire young students to foster a genuine interest in culinary art and become culinary p rofessionals.
The expo saw the participation of Indian and international celebrity chefs insp iring the young students of hotel management to become culinary p rofessionals.
The event was inaugurated by Mr.S iraj Mukherjee - GM, Hotel Royal Orchid, Bangalore.

Midnight Marathon AIMS Institute through its women’s cell organised mid-night
marathon in association withGhrilakshmi.This was to participate in the 'Run for Women Empowerment' in association with Grihalakshmi (A Magazine in Malayalam by
Mathrubhoomi Publishers) on 28th January 2016 in AIMS campus. The marathon was flagged by Dr. Sheri Kurian,
Registrar, AIMS Institutes; around 50 girl students took part in the run.
International Student Day Celebrations A cultural p rogram was organized by the international students at AIMS in the Auditorium. The Director of ICCR, Bangalore Mr K S ingh and advisor, Center for Foriegn Students, Dep t of HE, GOK Mr. Ramesh K were p resent.
NEN Entrepreneurship Week “Innovative Ideas For A Better World” AIMSA in collaboration with “National Entrep reneurship Network -NEN” is p roudly celebrating &
hosting “Entrep reneurship Week” from 20th-27th February 2016 between 9am & 5pm in the campus. The event is directed to sensitize society at large, especially student community towards entrep reneurship through interactions, events & activities to establish clarity on its benefits and effect
to the society as well as the economy .
Book Launch - “Start up Your Restaurant” The Book ‘Start up Your Restaurant’ authored by Mr. Jayanth Narayanan and Ms. Priya Bala was

Inauguration of UG Academic Session
The inauguration of the UG courses for the Academic Year 2016 -17 took p lace in AIMS Institutes
auditorium on 11th of July , which was then followed by two days of orientation p rogramme for the students. The students attended the inaugural sessions with their parents. Dr. Kiran Reddy, CEO &
Principal, AIMS Institutes delivered the inaugural address.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed on 11th Aug, 2016 at AIMS Institutes. Kargil Vijay Diwas, named
after the success of Operation Vijay . On the day of 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. We at AIMS Institutes, celebrated the occasion meaningfully through an insp irational talk by Captain
Naveen Nagappa eloquently narrated the Kargil war and the roles of various marty rs of this fight.
Ethnic Day Celebration
The energy levels were quite high as the campus was bursting with enthusiasm and passion. Depict ing the cultures and traditions of respective States, staffs and students dressed in traditional attires as part
of the Ethnic Day celebrations here on Saturday . The faculty and students from different cultures, regions and languages joined hands to celebrate and showcase their respective regional cultures and traditions to everyone p resent on campus . Dr Kiran Reddy, CEO & Principal said diversity made the
world more beautiful. The main message of the celebration was to respect the traditions and recognise the culture of the others.
Christmas celebration Aims school of business celebrated Christmas by arranging fun games for faculties, the event was student
driven which had competitions like musical chair, dumb charades, guess who, singing competion and many
more. It was day fillied with full of joy and excitement for both studnets as well as teachers. Later high tea was
arranged for all.
Culinary event Department of Hotel Management has organised two days culinary event by Celebrity Chef S anjay
Thakur on 23rd & 24th of Sep tember 2016 at AIMS Institutes Auditorium & Training Restaurant. The event was comprised of Demonstration on Sous vide method of cooking & Culinary Plate Art by Chef S anjay Thankur on 23rd Sep tember 2016. On 24th Sep t 2016, the Chef p repared & served Nine
course menu based on molecular gastronomy using his p late art skills with our students and to the invited Chefs & dignitaries from Hotel Industry .

Workshop on Fire Fighting and First Aid A session on Rap id Action Techniques was conducted in the auditorium of AIMS institutes The
morning session was on fire safety . It was very useful session for anyone. In this session various
examples of fire accidents were shown and it was exp lained how peop le are lost their lives even
though they are having safety measures with them. It was exp lained how we are unable to react quick
and use the available resources to be safe from fire accidents that happen any time through various
sources. The various mediums through which fire accidents takes p lace and the dos and don’ts in such
situations are also exp lained.

extinguishers are exp lained by the resource person
Mr.Guru Prasad to more than 200 students on 06/10/2016.
The types of fire extinguishers that should be used in case
of solid fire (fire caused due to solids like wood), liquid
fire (petroleum), gases and metals are exp lained with
relevant examples. This session was ended by afternoon and p ractical trial was done by some of our
classmates. By the end of this session we are aware of how to use fire extinguishers and also how to
save a person stuck in fire and save ourselves from fire.

A workshop on Microsoft Office Skills was organized for the administration staff of the institute on 5th
June 2016. The resource person Prof. Hemanth K S trained the participants in using word documents,
excel sheets and making effective power point presentations.

Our head of department “Mr. Govindraj pandith” has organized a motivational
p rogram on 7th aug.2016. The guest was by “Thomas John Rose” on “Passion”
and he has shared his knowledge and experience with all of our department fellow
.we really enjoyed his companionship and sty le of motivation and more than 100
students were attended.
He said that motivation is a theoretical construct used to exp lain behavior. It
rep resents the reasons for people's actions, desires, and needs. Motivation can also
be defined as one's direction to behavior or what causes a person to want to repeat a behavior and vice
versa.a motive is what p rompts the person to act in a certain way or at least develop an inclination for
specific behavior. For example, when someone eats food to satisfy the need of hunger, or when a
student does his/her work in school because he/she wants a good grade. Both show a similar
connection between what we do and why we do it. According to maehr and meyer, "motivation is a
word that is part of the popular culture as few other p sychological concep ts are". Wikipedia readers
will have a motive (or motives) for reading an article, even if such motives are complex and difficult to
p inpoint. At the other end of the range of complexity , hunger is frequently the motive for seeking out
and consuming food.

Symposium on Course Learning Outcomes Knowledge and Skills Gaps The p rimary objective of the symposium was to ensure that the faculty members are thorough with the
sy llabus and updates/developments in the subject area identify app rop riate knowledge
and skill gaps. Each faculty member will make a p resentation of the knowledge and skill gaps identified in
his/her paper, keep ing in view the p resent requirements of the recruiters/industry .
During the p resentation, the faculty has to exp lain how it is a knowledge gap /skill gap in the subject and how it can be addressed to make the students emp loyable.
After the workshop , the Program head may consolidate all the p resentations, p repare a note on the sy llabus of each subject and submit to the university as recommendations that may be incorporated in
the next revision of the sy llabus.

The interactions in the symposium may give a fair idea on how effectively the sy llabus can be taught
and can lead to sharing of innovative and best p ractices. Report: The symposium was scheduled department wise starting from June 16, 2016. A total of 57 UG Faculty
gave p resentations for 109 subjects and 50 PG faculty p resented 103 subjects. The recommendations made by the CDRC during the p resentations were incorporated in the Course
Learning Outcome.

Orientation on Curriculum Development for Value Added Program
Value added courses are the types of courses which help a particular individual to develop their own skills in their chosen field of the study . It facilitates the students as
well as the faculty to keep pace with the latest technologies pertaining to their chosen field of studies. Although such courses
p lay an important role in p reparing teachers for diversity , this app roach to curriculum reform does not go far enough. In this context AIQAC decided to conduct an orientation p rogram on
develop ing curriculum for the identified VAPs. Dr. Siddaiah was the resource person and he exp lained in detail the points to keep in
mind while creating the curriculum for VAPs.
Karvy – SEAL (Student Engagement and Applied Learning) Program Karvy – SEAL - A new initiative by Karvy Stock Broking Limited for p romoting Cap ital Market and
Investments across various colleges & universities. Karvy Stock Broking - Prominent Financial consultancy in India has conducted a special workshop in stock broking named as Karvy – SEAL
(Student Engagement and App lied Learning) to bud the emerging management youth to join stock broking companies on 25th and 26th Oct 2016 at AIMS Institutes.
Computer Skills Training
A computer skills training p rogram was organised by the Department of MCA associated with ACSD to sp read the
awareness of Information technology (IT) to the 9th and 10th Standard Students of Government High School, Peenya. The
p rogram started by inaugurating from the PUC Principal Dr. Sri Ramamurthi, Prof. Anantha Rama Krishana, Dr. Somanth and With faculty members of Govt school.
At 1.30 pm Dr. Sriramamurthy addressed the gathering by p romoting the all courses of our Institution and at same time
MCA students distributed the brochures of our institution to the students. Dr. Somnath motivated students to come to our institution and briefed them about various activities contacted by our institution.
Prof.Krishnan and Ms. Jayashree Nair briefed by telling students about the importance of Computer Knowledge in the current century and different applications of Computers.
Dr. Hemanth.K.S gave impartment information of current rents in computer app lication, and guided the students for their further opportunities after their Schoolings. After the inaugural function a small snack was arranged in BHM Canteen. Sharp 2.30pm training
p rogram started in Lab1 and Internet lab. Students of MCA were trained the High School Children's on:
Basics on the internet, creating Email and their necessities, exp lained about browsers, and how to search information from Google. Students were very enthusiastic and eager to learn. The p rogram runs till 5.00pm and a bus was arranged to drop the students. At the end of the training section students of
High School were well enough to create a mail and access the internet efficiently .

Guest Lecture - Woman and entrepreneurship Ms. Illana Shoshan (Ms. Israel in 1980) amodel, social film p roducer and
social activist who stands for the cause of women and Ms. Yael Hashavit, Consul General of Israel, who has won many accolades for her
contributions in several countries as a dip lomat. She emphasized the importance of support from men for the empowerment of women. She talked on the role of men in supporting and up lifting the living standards
of women. For a balanced development of society , she op ined that women need to be given equal opportunities. Both shared the situation
in Israel with the audience while Prof.Mamatha of AIMS threw some light on Indian empowerment of women in India. Session Ended with ap t answers of the queries of the audience. The session sensitized the audience towards empowerment of women and the role that men
have to p lay in the p rogress of women.

Mr CB Ramkumar (Ram) is an author, speaker, trainer, consultant and an entrep reneur. He
ispassionate about sustainability and has over the years acquired application knowledge in sustainable living concep ts.
Guest Lecture - Skilling India - Role of youth Mr. Venugopal, delivered a fabulous speech on the Role of youth. His emphasis on the skills required by today ’s youth in order to build a good career offered a great insight and knowledge to us about the current hiring scenarios in the corporate. “80% of an organization's force consists of temporary
emp loyees as the company keeps changing them until they acquire skilled emp loyees” he said. Several organisations such as NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), Ministry of skill
development and entrep reneurship , MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) have been started in INDIA in order to equip the youth with the required skills. He further p rovided better clarity on this by sharing statistical data such as
*40% of workforce is illiterate *Only 1% have higher education
*Only 15% of Indian companies give on-job training compared to 90% in Korea/China *India p rojects the need of 400-500 million skilled manpower by 2022 *12 million (1.20 crore) workforce is expected to join every year.
*Present capacity to train is only 4 million (0.4 crore) per year.

Guest Lecture - Suicidal tendencies and their prevention The guest speaker duo talked about the suicidal tendencies as seen in the youths today and how that can be p revented. The
top ic was indeed the need for the hour. As the speaker said today 's youth are not at all able to handle stress and p ressure. Dr. Sharmitha discussed why and how the suicidal tendencies
would occur at adolescent stage and the measures one can take to p revent them. They feel upset about petty things in life and
as a result they take this extreme step of ending their life. The told student’s various cases where just because of internal fears peop le were taking such extreme steps. They requested students to confide in their family members with whom they think they are most
comfortable and can p lace their trust. They said by doing so they will get a mentor.
Dr Mohan Sunil Kumar exp lained the dangers one can face in life due to Alcoholism, Substance abuse. Further, he discussed how one can lead a healthy life by staying away from unwarranted habits.

entertainment and design congregate, TED has grown not only across the continuum of learning but spans the globe in the form of independent TEDx in communities across the world. The world we inhabit today is one full of challenges, opportunities and contradictions where our ability to grapp le
with the future is grounded in our choices. And although we are beginning to realize that life isn’t a grand zero sum equation, sometimes we must polarize others and wager every thing we have in order to
realize our full potential. It was the great learning experience for our students.

Aazaadi 70 Celebrations The quiz competition, organised by the Departments of BBA, BA and MA as a part of Aazaadi 70 celebrations on the 17th of August 2016 at AIMS auditorium, aimed at encouraging students to take

ESPERANZA 2016 - UG Fresher’s Day Program
The AIMS Institutes held its UG Freshers' Day on 19th August 2016 at its Bangalore Campus. Esperanza 2016 was a celebration for the 2016-19 batch with insp irational speeches by experienced dignitaries, the selection of Mr. and Ms. Esperanza 2016 and engaging song and dance performances.
Dr Kiran Reddy, CEO & Principal addressed all the students and exp lained the purpose of organiz ing such a p rogram. On the whole, the event saw seniors and faculty at AIMS extending a warm welcome

OPPO Times Fresh Face 2016 The Times of India runs an annual event Fresh Face at leading UG Colleges. This year, they were
invited to the AIMS Campus to kick-start the Bangalore season on 3rd Sep tember. The event showcases students' talents, as well as judges them on the basis of inner and outer beauty . It is a p latform to encourage competition amongst students, and to enhance their public speaking and
exp ression skills, thereby improving confidence levels. And in the p rocess, the intent is to p rovide wholesome entertainment to participants and audience alike.
The Final Round involved answering Judges' questions. The judges for the event were noted film-maker Mr. Kishen Shrikanth , Times of India Editorial member Ms. Anjali Muthanna and Times of India Events Head Mr. S ujith Thomas.
Onam 2016 Onam has been one among significant celebrations at the campus. ACSD with the help of Onam
committee orangized the event for all the students and faculties of AIMS. All the faculty members and
students wore the traditional attire and the event began with traditional shingarmelam which had a
trope of people who welcomed King Mahabali and the celebrations were followed by cultural events.
Mind Matters 2016 - Interdepartmental Quiz Competition AIMS Institutes organized the interdepartmental quiz competition Mind Matters 2016 to create

The NSS unit of the institute p romotes the social service activities amongst the students. The students may voluntarily register with the NSS Officer and participate in the extension and neighbourhood

The sports arena of the institute has facility for various outdoor and indoor sports like Basketball,
Cricket, Volley Ball, Throw Ball, Athletics, Carrom Board, Chess, Table tennis, etc. Every year an

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
“Youth for Sciences & Scientific Attitude” Special Camp DAY-1 (27th January ’16)
The NSS Camp was a one-week camp held from 27 January 2016 to 2 February 2016. The camping team were taken to a rural area, Puttayana Agrahara, Doddaballapura, Bangalore rural. The tagline for
the camp was “Youth For Sciences & Scientific Attitude''. The team members were divided into 5 different task performing committees(housekeep ing, food, cultural, stage, invitation). DAY-2 (28th January 2016)
On the second day of the camp , all the committee members assembled for p rayer at 7 a.m and sang “We Shall Overcome”, a quite motivating song. After having tea the team set out for a morning walk
along the roads of the village. They enjoyed the fresh air, away from the city 's pollution. After breakfast, they set out for cleaning. Excep t for the food committee, others were taken to clean the village area. The first activity of the day started with cleaning of the school and surroundings and
p lanting of the sap lings by AIMS students. The picture below manifests the change after cleaning. DAY-3 (29th January 2016)
Moving forward for the day , NSS members were geared up again for the village cleaning and set out to accomplish the task. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. A Clean environment help s all to maintain good health. Second
activity of the day was an awareness rally in the evening on the basic motto of “ Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
DAY-4 (30th January 2016) On the fourth day of NSS, after the morning routine, the team set out for cleaning with great enthusiasm.
In the afternoon, a team from the Department of Languages along with Prof. Parveen arrived. MA English students conducted a session on Communication Skills in English to the children, Prof.
Parveen conducted a workshop on English Grammar. DAY-5 (31st January 2016) Fifth day was also followed with a routine. On this day those who were in the food committee moved
to outdoor activities like cleaning and vice versa. On this day the NSS team were offered food from the temp le. They had an amazing religious and sp iritual experience as well.
This was followed by the scheduled activity . Prof. Ravi & Prof.Smitha Mohan conducted an awareness p rogramme to peop le regarding health and hygiene and importance of nutrients to the body . Prof. Smitha Mohan gave a lecture to rural women about how to be empowered.
DAY-6 On the sixth day the activity scheduled was Free Dental Camp by KLE Society , Institute of Dental
Science, Bangalore. Men, women, children and camp members had free dental check-ups. After the dental check-up , the dental team was served with lunch. Since it was the last entertainment show of the camp , the team worked hard to make it even more entertaining. The community peop le
equally cooperated with some of the activities. They made the team p lay a game on stage.
There was a Treasure hunt before the cultural event was held. DAY-7 (The Last Day )
On the final day of the camp , the first activity was conducted by Prof. Srinivas of BCA Department, AIMS on Computer Literacy to the
Government School students. This was followed by the talk by Dr. B. Narayana Swamy
- IIHRM on scientific agriculture the road ahead through the Horticulture Department. He gave

a lot of information about the scientific way of cultivation which gives p rofitable y ield of the crops.
This talk enlightened the farmers.
Awareness Workshop on Water Conservation and Environment
A team of students under the guidance of Dr. S omnath and Dr.
Annapoorna visited the school and conducted the awareness
sessions on conservation of water, rain water harvesting, and utilization of renewable energy and impacts of deforestation to the
school children through posters, anecdotes, stories and interaction
“Give Life to Junk “workshop was conducted on 3rd August 2016
About 100 students and faculty members of AIMS participated in the workshop Ms. Dakshayani, who is an environmentalist.
She demonstrated how waste can be converted into reusable p roducts.
Base Line Survey conducted The students from Ist semester MBA visited the slum settlement
situated at L.B.S Nagar at Yelahanka. The purpose was to conduct a survey and collect Socio-Economic characteristics of
the slum dwellers to sensitise them of socio economic conditions of the slum dwellers
A Talk On Reality Of Climate Change
Mr. C.B. Ram Kumar, an Environmentalist and Founder of 'Our Native Village', author,
speaker, trainer, consultant, an entrep reneur who is passionate
about sustainability discussed reasons for climate change. He emphasised up on the
ignorance of natural resources for generating powers
which are - Solar based energy and Wind.

Exclusive Time with Orphan Children from Sumangali Sevasram Sixty children in the age group of 5 to 13
were invited to the campus of AIMS this afternoon. The following were conducted for them: Motivational talk, Games with
p rizes and Cultural Performances. The students of AIMS have decided that, in
future, they will associate with this Sevasram to help children in their studies.
“Best Out of Waste” competition The competition gave an opportunity to do their part in saving the
environment. The students disp layed their creativity by
making various artefacts out of everyday waste material. They students made imaginative and
innovative artefacts which were truly a beauty to the eye and happ iness to the heart.
No Horn and Save Petrol Campaign Students conducted no horn campaign at a major traffic junction (Jalahalli Cross) to p romote fuel saving techniques and no horn
campaign.
“World Environment Day” Dr. K.B. Reddy a well known environmentalist
was invited to deliver lecture to students on the
need of environment protection.

"Voluntary Student Organisation” VSO, which is an international NGO. The consultation was at India Habitat
Centre New Delhi on 22nd June 2016. The consultation was attended by senior faculty members from IIM, TISS
and few other universities. Dr. Brahm

attended the consultation on behalf of AIMS which was fully sponsored by the VSO.
Blood Donation Camp ACCS conducted a day Blood Donation Camp on 8th August 2015 in association with Lions Club, Peenya Dasarahalli Branch and Blood Bank unit of Victoria Hosp ital. Lion Mohan , 1st VDG, Lion
Alponse Kurian , DC, Lions Blood Bank and Lion Chandrashekar S etty, Regional Chairman were p resent on the occasion and app reciated the cause. The session was p resided by Lion Uday Kumar, President, Lions Club Dasarahalli Branch.
Cleaning of college premises and Peenya 1st Cross Main Road. On 27th of August, the students of BCA 1st semester had an ACCS activity in our college p remises, the students were divided into 4 groups each group consisting of 21 members. Program was organized
by Prof. Sreenivasa H V Coordinator BCA ACCS Activity .
The Students were assembled in the ground at 10:20AM to get the instruction about the activity from Prof. Shivap rasad and the team there had been divided into 4 different groups and all the groups were given different p laces to do their activity , with the required equipment.
All the students actively participated in the respective group as per the instructions given by Prof.
Shivap rasad. The 1st team was informed to do their activity in the college bus parking area. were that area was fully grown by unwanted weeds and full of waste. The 2nd group was informed to clean a footpath area connected to
our college road, where that footpath area was fully filled with p lastic waste covers and etc. The 3rd group was informed to fill
the potholes in the road, where that p lace was an accident spot, because of potholes. The 4th group was informed to clean the bank area behind our collage, where that area was fully filled
with leaf litter of the trees.
The whole activity duration was 2 hours, the students returned to college at 12.20PM by finishing the given work. The teaching faculty members helped them in doing all this activity , by
supporting them in an each and every step of this activity . Finally all the groups have given the best performance in the
ACCS activity .

World Tourism Day The theme for World Tourism Day (Tourism accessibility for all) 2016 was celebrated on 27.9.2016 in the auditorium from 12:00 pm to 4:30pm
Dr.Kiran Reddy Principal and CEO AIMS and all the faculties from various department took part in the tourism fest and visited each stall . Innovative ideas and suggestions were given by faculties which were
useful for the students. Students came up with different stalls related to dark tourism, eco-tourism, quizstalls, responsible tourism, which was
informative and fulfilling. As a token of app reciation students of BHM gifted p lants to the faculty , p romoting Green tourism.
Visit to NGO To educate the children about pollution in the charity trust called Sparsha. On 17th of Sep tember 2016 the students of BCA 1st Semester had ACCS activity in a charity trust
called Sparsha (NGO) in Nisarga Grama of Hesaraghatta. The team of 16 members were given an opportunity to work in this activity .
All the students were gathered in the college p remises at 1:30 PM and started travelling in College Bus towards Nisarga Grama that is
around 12km from the College, they reached the p lace by 2 PM, by the time they reached the charity trust all the children were waiting to invite them. First there was a speech by one of the Sub
coordinators of the trust. Then they came to know the complete details about the NGO and about the Sparsha Charity Trust, how
the trust is working in p resent condition and many more things about the students and trust.
The members of ACCS activity actively started the p rogram to educate the children in trust in the manner of PPT presentation, how
to avoid the pollution, and what are the reasons for the pollution. By the trust they made two groups of students one is boys and another one is girls to easily communicate with each other. That made us
more comfortable to open up and exp lain more about the pollution. Even the p rogram organizer Prof. Anitha B gave them more
information about the NGO trusts in Karnataka and how they are working and what is the reason for the students to be in a charity
trust. The interactive activity finished at 4PM. The trust people offered our students some biscuits and
tea that shows their gratitude and affection towards them. Finally , the activity was finished by 5PM and the students reached college by 5:30 PM
Child Protection: The Need of the Hour
Every child, on p rovision of a conducive and an enabling environment, may blossom into anever fragrant flower, to shine in all spheres of life.
This reminds us of the onerous

n 26th of April, the department of social work, AIMS Institutes organized a symposium
on“ChildProtection:TheNeedoftheHour”.Itattemptedtoreviewtheongoingactivities/p rogrammesforchildp rotectionandaimtocatalyzethepublicresponseinthesymposium.
The occasion was graced with the p resence of honourable chief guest Ms. Nina Nanayak, Ex.Member National Commission for
Protection of Child Rights,GuestofhonourMr.Vasudev S harma

The highlight discussion points were changing pattern in the family
sy stem is becoming the root cause of the p roblem of children. Quoting with the p ractical examples he tagged the minds of the participants to think about bringing changes in the lifeless lifesty le of the
people. The symposium was summed up by Mr. Vasudev S harma, Director, CRT, followed by the certificate distribution. Thenthe occasion ended with the closing remarks and formal vote of thanks
by Prof. Indulekha Manayil Department of SocialWork.

International Study Tour to Malaysia
AIMS Institutes students went for International study tour to Malaysia from 17th Oct 2016 to 22nd Oct 2016.
In order to p rovide a cross cultural exposure and a global perspective to the students, AIMS Institutes has developed an extensive International Students Exchange Network. The Exchange Programme has
become increasingly popular with the students and nearly 40% of the batch gets a chance to spend a week at a Partner Institute. Efforts are underway to expand the Programme further and enable an even larger number of students to avail of this unique opportunity.
University of Shimane, Japan One of the most important features of life at AIMS Institutes is its truly multicultural environment. We are extremely p roud of the fact that we have over 30 nationalities on campus!
Our AIMS Centre for International Liaison was established to foster and enhance this very aspect. The aim is to p rovide our students and faculty with as many exchange opportunities as possible. This
includes sending and hosting visiting scholars, aiding faculty members in arranging international study tours, develop ing exchange agreements with universities around the world, and achieving membership in the top global exchange consortia.

Delegates from Thailand visit AIMS On Monday , July 25, 2016, Consul General of Thailand, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen Visited AIMS Institute of Higher Education.
During the visit, the consul pointed out the upward trend in the international student
exchange p rograms between Thailand and India.
According to Dr Kiran Reddy, CEO AIMS Institutes, one of the objectives in the discussion is the
international undergraduate and graduate student’s mobility . The idea would be that the Institute, along with the Consulate, could design actions facilitating this initiative”.
University of Shimane, Japan delegates visits AIMS Institutes Shimane University , Japan was established as a national university in 1949 and consists of the
Matsue campus and the Izumo campus.. AIMS Institute of Higher Education was host to a group of delegates from the University of Shimane, Japan as a part of a Cultural and Intellectual exchange
