Make straight the way of the Lord
When we're going on a road-trip, we often look for a route that is nice and easy to drive or a route that is beautiful--so we can enjoy; we wouldn't want to choose a route that is muddy, hill-climbed, rough, unpaved or hard to drive. We, as human person knows what the best option to choose is, so, would you think our God want to travel on a nicer road that leads into our heart? Our life is like a road, we want others to know, and be able to navigate in our lives; yet, we often forget that, God is asking us to repave the road of our life--fill the pots and leveled the hills, so he may come in and be with us easily. God doesn't ask of us for anything at all, God always reminds us (lovingly) to fix the broken-ness in our lives, so that, not only for him to walk with us, but for us to be able to accompany with God in life. God Bless,

Welcome to the Confirming Disciples Confirmation process. At Sacred Heart, we strive to provide you and your child with a welcoming, quality program. As a quote from David Calavitta states:
“Ministry should always be quality over quantity. A few warm hearts fill a room better than a ton of cold bodies. Souls, not certificates”. Following this as our guide, we look forward to sharing our faith

One of the crucial things we do in a Catholic school is to help develop our student's capacity for excellence in their spirituality, academics, social skills, and emo ons. All of these moments happen when we call them to-ward heir best effort, goodness, and what leads them to grow into wonderful people. Catholics schools lead all other educa onal school programs by having the best prepared students entering high schools and col-leges. Please consider your child receiving a Catholic educa on and contact the school for a tour.

Did you know? Start paying attention to TikTok Keeping tabs on how our children are using social media can seem quite daunting, even for parents who know their way around social media. But if you’re not paying attention to TikTok, the newest and most popular plat-form on the scene, it is time to do so. Check in with children who are old enough to use the platform, and if possible, consider limiting or even eliminating their access. Talk to your children about responsible searching and sharing on all online platforms. For more information about TikTok, read “Not paying attention to Tik-Tok? It is way past time to do so,” by Charles Camosy for Angelus News, https://angelusnews.com/voices/not-paying-attention-to-tiktok-it-is-way-past-time-to-do-so/. It is way past time to do so” (¿No presta atención a TikTok?
Page 7 Ministry News STATEMENT ON RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION
FOR VACCINATION AGAINST COVID-19 The Archdiocese of Los Angeles recommends that all members of the Catholic community who can receive a COVID-19 vaccine should do so. The Archdiocese is not providing individuals with religious exemption letters to avoid vaccination against COVID-19. Please see the information and links below to understand why the Archdiocese does not consider the COVID-19 vaccine to be morally objectionable and why it en-courages all the faithful to get vaccinated. “Receiving one of the COVID-19 vaccines ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community. In this way, being vaccinated safely against COVID-19 should be considered an act of love of our neighbor and part of our moral responsibil-ity for the common good.” -USCCB, Moral Consider-ations Regarding the New COVID19 Vaccines The following links might be helpful in understanding the morality of receiving the vaccine: https://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20201221_nota-vaccinianticovid_en.html https://www.usccb.org/news/2021/us-bishop-chairmen-doctrine-and-pro-life-address-use-johnson-johnson-covid-19- vaccine https://www.cacatholic.org/CCC-vaccine-moral-acceptability
The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception On December 8, we honor Mary, our Mother. The Solemnity of the Im-maculate Conception is a Catholic feast celebrating Mary's conception without sin. Even though this feast day occurs in the liturgical season of Advent, which prepares for the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Immac-ulate Conception refers to the conception of Mary in the womb of her mother, St. Anne. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception asserts that, "from the first mo-ment of her conception, the Blessed Virgin Mary was, by the singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, and in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of Mankind, kept free from all stain of original sin." The observance of this feast began with a Papal encyclical by Pope Pius IX, when he formally defined the dogma of the Immaculate Concep-tion, INEFFABILIS DEUS, on December 8, 1854. Several years later, in 1858, the Blessed Mother gave her name to St. Bernadette at Lourdes stat-ing, "I am the Immaculate Conception."

PRAYER OF THE WEEK Second Sunday of Advent
Almighty and merciful God, may no earthly undertaking hinder those who set out in haste to meet your Son,
but may our learning of heavenly wisdom gain us admittance to his company.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Reflection question: What earthly undertakings do I need to set aside so that I can set out to meet God’s Son?
