Description :Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh suhu danlama reaksi pada tahap pembentukan asam reaksi esterifikasidalam pembuatan metil ester asam lemak (metil ester). Tahappembentukan asam dilakukan melalui hidrolisis minyak denganlarutan KOH-isopropanol, kemudian garam asam lemak yangdidapatkan dihidrolisis kembali dengan asam untuk mendapatkanasam lemak. Peningkatan suhu meununjukkan peningkatanjumlah produk asam lemak (Suhu 85oC memberikan rasio produk: reaktan(%hasil) sebesar 86,71%). Sementara semakin lamareaksi produk yang didapat makin berkurang. Produk palingbanyak didapatkan pada waktu reaksi 20 menit. Metil esterdidapatkan dari esterifikasi asam lemak menggunakan BF3-metanol. Rasio produk : reaktan hasil esterifikasi asam lemakmenjadi metil ester adalah sebesar 97,65% sedang secarakeseluruhan penggunaan metode ini telah merubah minyakmenjadi metil ester asam lemak dengan rasio produk:reaktansebesar 85,6%. Hasil ini lebih besar bila dibandingkan denganmetode transesterifikasi menggunakan katalis NaOH (82,33%)
Description Alt:The purpose of this research is to capture the effect oftemperature and time reaction of proceeding step of free acidesterification on fatty acid metic ester (FAME) production. Theproceeding step of free acid esterification was done by oilhydrolisis using KOH-isopropanol liquid, and then the fatty acidsalt product was rehydrolize to obtain the fatty acid. Theincreasing of temperature shows the increasing amaunt of thefatty acid product (ratio product : reactant or %yield at 85 oC ishighest (86,71%)). Meanwhile, the longer of the reaction, thelesser amount of the product. At 20 minutes gives higest yield.The methyl ester was obtained from fatty acid esterification usingBF3-metanol. The ratio product : reactant of fatty acid convertioninto methyl ester is 96,71 % FAME. And this method also able tochange the oil into fatty acid in the ratio product : reactant of
