The Seton Hill LogoThe official Seton Hill University logo is a crimson rectangle with white text. It is also available as a black rectangle with white text, but this version should only be used in applications where color printing is not available. No other color variations are permitted.

The Seton Hill logo is a federally registered trademark. Any use of this logo must be in compliance with these guidelines and approved by the Marketing Department. Unauthorized use of Seton Hill University trademarks is prohibited and protected by the trademark laws of the United States. The registered trademark symbol should not be removed from the Seton Hill logo or altered in any way.

When pairing the university web address with the official logo, the text should be centered beneath the graphic and cannot be wider than the rectangle. The URL must be in an official Seton Hill font in either black or white and must be clearly readable against any background coloring.

USESThe official Seton Hill logo can be used on all official communications, publications, advertisements or marketing materials. The Seton Hill logo cannot be altered in any way - it also cannot be cut off or disproportionately resized.

HOW TO GET A LOGOMembers of the Seton Hill community can download high-resolution logo graphics by going to MySHU Documents and Forms and choosing “Marketing” from the department drop-down menu. Third-party contractors can request logo files by contacting the Seton Hill Marketing Department (contact information is located on page 10 of this document).

Sizing, Clear Space & Effects The relationship between the graphic elements of all official logos, seals, crests and wordmarks of the University are predetermined and fixed. While they are adaptive to the media in which they are being used, they must be scaled to preserve spatial integrity. They should never appear stretched or misshapen. There must be clear space around all edges and adequate contrast against any background. No effects should be applied, except in the instance that a subtle drop shadow or outer glow is necessary for the logo to stand out against a background.

Seton Hill Logo Usage on PostersPosters displayed both on and off campus promoting activities sponsored or hosted by university departments, offices or clubs must include the official Seton Hill logo in the design. Athletics-related events may also include a Seton Hill Griffins logo, but this graphic should appear in addition to the official university logo, not in place of it.

All guidelines regarding correct usage mentioned previously must be followed. Additionally, the logo’s placement within the design must allow for easy readability from a short distance and adequate contrast against any background coloring. For poster designs that include a predominately crimson background color that doesn’t allow for good contrast between the logo and background, the Seton Hill lettering (the white text within the rectangle of the official Seton Hill logo) may be considered. All other cases must use the standard logo configuration.

Please refer to the graphics at right for scaling and placement recommendations, and contact the Marketing Department with any questions.
