ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research• modern world of Knowledge Age, ICT plays an important role for the effectiveness of teaching, learning, and research.

• Internet is unavoidable in learning processes worldwide, and it seems to be the main source of knowledge.

• Many applications and websites which could be useful in teaching, learning, and research are mentioned.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research• ICT helps promote the education systems of a country

• undoubtedly affected teaching, learning, and research

• A great deal of research has proven the benefits to the quality of education

• Without the use of ICT, no good results of the researches will come out.24/03/2015 6

ICT is to• innovate, • accelerate, • enrich & deepen skills, • to motivate and • engage students,

ICT is• to help relate school experience to work practices, create economic viability for tomorrow's workers, as well as strengthening teaching and helping schools change

• the impact of technology, especially computers, in education.

• can change the world and those who know how to use ICT in their business can create the world.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

• Hepp, Hinostroza, Laval and Rehbein (2004) claim in their paper“Technology in Schools: Education, ICT and the Knowledge Society”

• that education systems would need to prepare citizens for lifelong learning in an information society boosted interest in ICTs.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

• the technology to improve student learning as a rationale for investment.

• computer systems in schools is built upon an understanding of the link between schools, learning and computer technology.

• the educative process has been divided into two broad categories:– ICTs for Education and – ICTs in Education.

ICTs for Educationto the development of information and communications technology specifically for teaching/learning purposes

ICTs in education involves the adoption of general components of information and communication technologies in the teaching learning process.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

• ICT technologies can help revitalize teachers and students.

• to improve and develop the quality of education by providing curricular support in difficult subject areas.

• to achieve these objectives, teachers need to involve in collaborative projects and development of intervention change strategies,

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

•necessary for teachers to introduce ICT 1.teachers should believe in the effectiveness of technology,

2.teachers should believe that the use of technology will not cause any disturbances,

3.teachers should believe that they have control over technology.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

• ICT in educational settings, by itself acts as a channel for change in this domain.

• encourage and support independent learning• Students using ICTs for learning purposes become immersed in the process of learning

• as more and more students use computers as information sources and cognitive tools

• the technology on supporting how students learn will continue to increase.

ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research

• ICTs are used appropriately to complement a teacher’s existing pedagogical philosophies.

• ICTs are seen to be less effective (or ineffective) when the goals for their use are not clear.

• a statement would appear to be self-evident, the specific goals for ICT use in education are, in practice, are often only very broadly or rather loosely defined.

The Impact of ICT on the Student Achievement and Student Motivation

24/03/2015 15

The Impact of ICT on the Student Achievement and Student Motivation

• Uses of ICTs for simulations and modeling in science and math have been shown to be effective

• most users feel that using ICTs make them more effective learners

• both teachers and students feel ICT use greatly contributes to student motivation for learning.

• Students who use a computer at home also use them in school more frequently and with more confidence

24/03/2015 16

The Impact of ICT on the Student Achievement and Student Motivation

• ICTs can increase learner autonomy for certain learners.

• ICTs in education, in many cases, are affected by the gender of the learner

How to help ICT tools in Education

Adobe Presenter• can create HD video lecture for classroom teaching,

• distance learning, • flipped learning and • MOOC(Massive Online Open Courses) sessions, and

• simultaneously capture screen content along with our webcam video or

• make Microsoft PowerPoint slides into interactive learning with out-of-the-box assets and eye catching quizzes.

• it can track content consumption and learner performance with the built in analytics dashboard or through integration with leading LMSs

For example, if you want to prepare for your lessons you can follow such kind of things:• multiple choice Question• True/False Question• Fill in the blank• short Answer• Matching Activity• Likert Scale

Mind Mapping Software• A mind map is a visual representation of hierarchical information that includes a central idea surrounded by connected branches of associated topics.

24/03/2015 20

Sample Mind Map of Computer system

Benefits of Mind Maps• Help students brainstorm and explore any idea, concept, or problem

• Facilitate better understanding of relationships and connections between ideas and concepts

• Make it easy to communicate new ideas and thought processes

• Allow students to easily recall information• Help students take notes and plan tasks• Make it easy to organize ideas and concepts

24/03/2015 22

Cam-studio• A screen-cast is a narrated explanation of activity on a computer screen, usually to explain how to perform a particular task in a computer program or on a Website.

• it provides value to students anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.

• also reveals just how smart these teachers are.

24/03/2015 23

Cam-Studio will be able to record all these and allow you to play them back later on.You can use Cam-Studio to• demonstrate features of a new software• create movies used in user trainings• track the progress of a program that executes for a long time

• record the sequence of steps that cause the occurrence of bugs in faulty software

• record a movie stream• convert AVI files to Flash (SWF) file
