Limited Edition Release of the Score from the Photoplay Productions Documentary of 2004 about the Golden Age of Hollywood and C.B.DeMille. This proved to be the last commercial score and recording by the great Elmer Berntein, who conducted The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra contracted by James Fitzpatrick. Premiere Digital Recording of the Complete 156 minute Score for the 1959 Classic starring Charlton Heston and directed by William Wyler. Not only one of the greatest of all films, winner of 11 Oscars, but certainly one of the finest of all film scores from the composer of EL CID, KING OF KINGS, SPELLBOUND, SODOM & GOMORRAH, TIME AFTER TIME, THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD.And certainly the most ambitious (and expensive) recording ever undertaken by Tadlow Music including 10 orchestral sessions with 96 piece orchestra, plus additional sessions for brass marches and fanfares, and ethnic music cues plus choir sessions. This is one of the best re-recordings of a classic film score I have ever heard. It just overflows with dynamic sound and vivid performances by all.
