INTRODUCTION

Who Should Use This Directory The Foundation Directory of Resources for International Food and Nutrition Dietetics Professionals is

designed for use by practitioners, graduates with Baccalaureate (or equivalent), or Graduate degrees in nutrition

(biomedical), food, dietetics, public health, agriculture, foodservice management, food science, food science

technology, and related areas. Individuals pursuing a professional degree may use this directory, or

professionals who are seeking continuing education, training or work experience nationally or internationally.

Contact information and general guidelines for numerous organizations that offer financial assistance for studies

in the United States of America (USA) and other countries are provided.

How to Use the Directory The Foundation Directory of Resources for International Food and Nutrition Dietetics Professionals was

created to simplify the process of seeking financial assistance for international students and professionals by

organizing food, nutrition, dietetics and other related resources and contact information in one source. This

Directory is divided into six sections. The first section lists those organizations that provide resources to

American students and professionals. The second section lists the organizations that provide financial assistance

to individuals of any nationality studying or gaining practice experience in the USA, and in other countries. The

third section lists resources available to nationals of specific (non-USA) countries for studying in their home

country and/or abroad. The fourth section lists other resources that are useful when searching for financial

assistance or work experience abroad, such as international education organizations, literature (hardcopy and

electronic), internet access to information, and online networking opportunities. The fifth section lists groups

associated with the Academy, including Member Interest Groups (MIGs), Dietetic Practice Groups (DPGs), and

the Academy’s International Affiliate Organization. The sixth and final section lists international nutrition and

dietetic associations as a source of contact for nationals of specific countries. The goal of this project has been

to provide information as complete and accurate as possible about the organizations and agencies listed in this

Directory. Where applicable, we have provided the address, telephone and/or fax number, and web site of the

4

organizations or agency, (the links of certain websites may require direct placement into the web browser for

information retrieval) the contact person, areas of study, eligibility requirements and deadlines.

Please note that The Foundation Directory of Resources for International Food and Nutrition Dietetics

Professionals is not an exhaustive listing because the database is very extensive and ever changing. We,

therefore, encourage nutrition students and professionals who are seeking financial assistance to explore other

directories and other possible avenues to assist with funding opportunities. To conduct a search, award seekers

should use a variety of keywords including; ‘nutrition,’ ‘food’ and ‘dietetics.’ Additional resources may be

found under ‘agriculture’, ‘agricultural science,’ ‘human’ and ‘health sciences’, ‘family’ and ‘consumer

sciences,’ ‘biomedical nutrition,’ ‘public health,’ ‘community nutrition.’ We encourage any and all readers to

give us feedback about The Foundation Directory of Resources for International Food and Nutrition Dietetics

Professionals. Should, you discover scholarships, fellowships, grants and/or awards that may be suitable for this

directory during your research for funding, we would be grateful for your contribution toward our efforts in

maintaining the most current information. The quality, effectiveness and resourcefulness of this Directory will

be preserved with your help.
