Swegon MagiCAD Plugin 1

General The purpose of Swegon MagiCAD Plugin is to use ProUnit, ProSelect or Casa

software directly from MagiCAD as a product configurator when adding Swegon

products into MagiCAD for AutoCAD project / drawing.

How to install plugin

Required third-party software

Swegon MagiCAD Plugin works with the following MagiCAD versions

MagiCAD 2012.11 and AutoCAD 2010-2013 or MagiCAD 2013.4 or newer

and AutoCAD 2010-2014

Note! Inserting unit from ProUnit doesn’t require MagiCAD.

Installation

1. Download setup file from

https://delivery.progman.fi/db_and_plugins.aspx?search=Swegon&hideDB

=1&hideMisc=1

2. Ensure that you have required MagiCAD version installed on your

computer (not needed if you only want to export ahu from ProUnit to

AutoCAD drawing)

3. If you have used old ProUnit plugin, remove it manually via Control Panel.

4. Install the plugin by running

The 32-bit version

Swegon MagiCAD Plugin 2013.11.1 32-bit.msi

or

The 64-bit version of the program

Swegon MagiCAD Plugin 2013.11.1 64-bit.msi

Administrator privileges are recommended for installation. Note if you have

several AutoCAD versions on your workstation: Before you run the installation program, start MagiCAD to make sure that

Starting the program

Before you start using Swegon MagiCAD Plugin, start MagiCAD and open

MagiCAD project.

Run CUILOAD or MENULOAD in AutoCAD, and browse the customization

file from the installation directory (under Program Files folder) or from

window’s ProgramData directory:

C:\Users\All Users\ Swegon\Swegon MagiCAD plugin for windows 7,

C:\ProgramData\ Swegon\Swegon MagiCAD plugin for windows 8,

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Swegon\Swegon

MagiCAD plugin for windows XP.

If you have limited user rights to write to your C:\Program Files -folder, it is

recommended to load the plugin from the programData folder as AutoCAD

needs rights to write to the cui files.

When you first time start using Swegon MagiCAD Plugin, you need to load the

customization file manually.

When you click Load, Swegon MagiCAD Plugin toolbar appears on the

AutoCAD.

and ribbon

Swegon MagiCAD plugin 2013.11.1 version .arx-files are automatically loaded

so you can use plugin without toolbar or ribbon. Just use commands SWEGON,

SWEGON_DATA, SWPROSELECTBEAM, SWCASA or SWCASADATA to

start to use plugin.

Information for network administrators:

Plugin requires connection to Swegon web site. Internet Explorer control is used

to browse web pages from proselect.swegon.se / prounit.swegon.se

Standard HTTP GET (TCP, default port 80 should be used) method is used to

retrieve files from the server. GET response includes file (mime

application/octet-stream). Your network firewall should allow such connections.

Possible error situations:

1) Toolbar is not updated properly in AutoCAD after installation,

Solution:

Close AutoCAD and delete SwegonMagi.mnr file from C:\Program

Files\Swegon\Swegon MagiCAD plugin or where you have installed plugin.

Start AutoCAD again, now toolbar should be updated properly.

2) Running old ProUnit Plugin

If you try to use old ProUnit plugin, you will get the following message

after you have logged in.

Solution:

Click button to download new version from MagiCAD Downloads-page.

Follow instructions and download new plugin from MagiCAD Download-

page.

How to use the plugin

Insert ProUnit AHU

1. Press the plugin icon to get air handling unit to drawing.

2. Give username and password in login dialog.

3. Design unit and calculate it before you press Export Current Unit-button in

down left corner. Unit can also include external duct compenents e.g. coils.

4. Give installation height and select system for unit and duct connections.

System for duct connection is selected automatically if only one appropriate

type of connection is available.

5. If you have exported also duct component(s), select also installation height

and duct system for each of the components.

6. Continue working with MagiCAD by e.g. drawing ducts to

unit/components.

View ProUnit AHU data

1. Press the plugin icon to view data of AHU unit.

Insert ProSelect Waterborne Climate Systems and Air Diffusers

Press the plugin icon to add unit from ProSelect. Create products to be

exported.

By pressing button Export in lower left corner, all products in selected room will

be exported.

If you don’t want to export all the products, click Select products to export -

button.

Uncheck products which you don’t want to export and click Export-button.

Waterborne Climate Beams will be exported to MagiCAD project as Cooling

Beams (in previous versions beams where exported as Supply and Other Pipe

Device).

Other devices like Air Diffusers and Transfer Units are exported to MagiCAD as

Air Devices.

If you have already exported same device to MagiCAD, it will be highlighted in

yellow colour. Change usercode if you don’t want to replace previous device.

Click ok.

If you have multiple devices to insert MagiCAD drawing, then press Esc-button

after one device type is inserted.

"Cooling Beam” objects have all systems in the same product.

Note! If you need to have Waterborne Climate Systems as Supply or as Other

Pipe Device in MagiCAD, export it as .QPD-file in ProSelect program, use the

file as local database and select products into MagiCAD project.

Insert CASA AHU

1. Press the plugin icon to open air handling unit selection dialog.

2. Units are sorted in the list by the unit’s maximum airflow. Select one of the

unit. You may choose left or right-handed unit and see its image, rendered

or wireframe picture.

In rendered picture duct plugins are following:

red - supply plugin

yellow - extract plugin

blue - outdoor plugin

brown - exhaust plugin

green – circulation plugin(not shown in MagiCAD drawing)

white – kitchen hood plugin(in MagiCAD drawing same as extract

plugin)

3. After selections, press Export Current Unit -button in down left corner in

order to export the unit into MagiCAD drawing. When unit is added to

drawing, this dialog will be opened.

4. Give installation height and select system for unit and duct connections.

System for duct connection is selected automatically if only one appropriate

type of connection is available.

View CASA AHU data

Click button View CASA AHU data -button and select Swegon CASA AHU

to see available data of the unit.
