MS-newsleer though chronologically sll an Sadolescent one, yet seems to be aaining a remarkable maturity in terms of informaon

pernence, punctuality in knocking the readers’ doors, and maintaining compable hues in the creave contour. Let us congratulate the periodical for successfully withstanding different ebbs & flows during its peregrinaon so far. We look forward to our readers’ similar sanguine and robust patronage to this living souvenir of SMS Varanasi in future too.

School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, an acclaimed leader among the peers and having already aained NAAC Accreditaon with Grade ‘A’, has been extremely conscious towards its scholasc obligaons. Taking a glance on the current Annual Survey of Educaon Report (ASER’18) makes it apparent that India is facing a major learning crisis with foundaonal learning as the most crical gap. Our system of educaon has been dysfunconal, and most of our populaon is funconally illiterate. We are sll far from being an educated naon. All intervenons and iniaves eventually become irrelevant if the most basic learning – reading, wring and arithmec at the foundaonal level – is not achieved first. Much like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that revoluonized society’s mindset, we now need a Foundaon Learning Mission with a holisc approach involving all the stakeholders.

Let us repeat our commitments to follow an unabated trend of a comprehensive introspecon at different levels in order to glean and pracce needful inputs cropping up from me to me on plural dimensions of higher learning so as to make the chances of any delivery-deficit a big zero, and making our students stand at the cung edge of applicaon-based academics.

I am sure you would like the issue covering a myriad of acvies experienced by the SMS Varanasi fraternity during January to June, 2019.

Let me close with warm wishes.

P. N. JhaD. Li.(Management)
