Best Practices

While implementing Business Data Connectivity (BDC)

models

Specify default limit filter parameter values

Avoid unnecessary use of client side filtering

Always work from a custom site definition, instead of from

an originally installed site definition, to make changes

Use Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 External Lists to

work with date and time information in Duet Enterprise

Real Experience. Real Advantage.

[

63

Key Learnings

Before starting SAP – SharePoint integration, make sure

all the pre-requisites are met

Start the integration from the SharePoint side, by

generating the certificates and sending the certificates

and service models to SAP admin

Run the integration wizard in the SAP SCL system and

import the certificates and models into the SCL system

and follow the wizard instructions

Export the service model from SAP and import it into

SharePoint

Define site collection at SharePoint and pass the url to the

SAP Admin

Import the required url into the wizard in SCL

system and complete the integration
