2 5th Nov 2018 The 3rd National Aayurveda day celebration was held at our

3 16th Oct 2018 World Mental Health Day was observed at Santhigiri Ayurveda

Medical college on 16th Oct 2018.The day was marked with

seminars and presentations on various topics related to mental

health and itssignificance in the current scenario by students,

house surgeons and experts in the field. Dr. G.Nagabhushanam,

Principal, delivered the key note address.

4 24th Oct 2018 An Interactive session with Dr. Bhushan Sarmandal,

Productmanager, Curofy - a unique initiativeof RoundGlass that

helps 300,000+ doctors around India to network, interact

andcollaborate onclinical cases, on the topic - Technology

Disrupting Doctors Lives, was held on 24th Oct 2018.

Thesessiongave an insight into adding value to the doctor s

practice and improving efficiency with theproper utilisation of

technology.

5 2nd Nov 2018 The students and staffs of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College

participated in the Half Marathon andpublic meeting, organised by

National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma,Ministry

ofAYUSH, Govt. of India, Cherthuruthy, Thrissur, in connection with

the Aayurveda Day celebrations on2nd Nov 2018. A souvenir and

an audio CD was released followed by an awareness lecture for

thepublic.

2018

An Induction Programme (Sishyopanayaneeyam) was conducted

for the first year BAMS students on 15thNovember 2018 (Thursday)

at our College Auditorium. The purpose is to receive the newly

admittedstudents and their parents & also to create awareness

about the teaching methodology and functioning ofour College.The

function started at 10.30 am, presided by our Principal,

G.Nagabushanam. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Simon H,

PTAPresident. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Janani

Remyaprabhajnana thapaswini. The students were received with

Ashtanga hridayaand stethoscope and the parents were received

with aamalaki. The students were inducted into the studies by

taking oath. The ceremonywas led by Dr. Sumam.E. Ashtanga

hridaya parayana was done led byDr. Uma Haimavathy followed by

an interactive session with the students and parents.Presentations

weredone about the institution and the curriculum by Dr. Sreejith

and Dr. Veena. P. Raghunathan. The wholeprogramme was

coordinated by Dr. Arun. N P, Dr. Indulekha A (Class coordinators

1st BAMS) and thesenior students. Dr. Krishnanand C delivered the

welcomespeech , Dr. Arathi P S and Sri Ashok P Jfelicitated the

function and Mr. Suresh Kumar PV, Senior Convenor

(Administration) delivered the vote of thanks.

NSS Unit in Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad

organized anOath Taking Ceremony with a view to foster and

reinforce the spirit ofcommunal harmony, national integration and

pride in vibrant, compositeculture and nationhood in connection

with Quami Ekta week celebrationsand National Integration Day on

19th November, 2018. Dr. G.Nagabushanam- Principal inaugurated

the session. Dr. Aswin, NSSProgram Officer, NSS volunteers, NSS

student leaders , staff and Students ofvarious batches participated

inthe ceremony.

8 1st Dec 2018 On the occasion of World AIDS Day on 1st December, 2018, NSS

Unit in SanthigiriAyurveda Medical College, Palakkad conducted a

Flash Mob at Fort Maidan,Palakkad in co-ordination with

thePalakkad Municipality and South Police Station,Palakkad. The

students exhibited the posters and distributed AIDS Badges.The

aim of the program was to create awareness among the Public on

AIDS pandemiccaused by the spread of HIV infection andmourning

those who have died of thedisease.

presented apaper as resource person on the topic Khalaitya at

Shaalakya Prabhodhini2018 -National Conference on Aayurvedic

Management of UrdhvaangaRoga (Eye an ENT disorders)organised

by The Faculty of Indian Medicine,SGT University, Gurugram,

Haryana on 16th Nov 2018.

Students from all batches along with faculties and management

representativesengaged in cleaning the campus on during 2nd

October, 2018 - 30th November, 2018and planted 50 saplings in

connection with Clean Campus Green Campus Initiative.Also,

fencing was done on each planted sapling for protection.The

Students conducted campaigns to discard the usage of plastic pen

and to use papermade pens with a refill and plant seed inside it.

Initiatives were takenmanagement of disposal of organic and

inorganic wastes in the campus.

11 6th Oct 2018 Mr. Amritheesh, 4th year student of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical

College became the first chess player fromthe college to qualify

and represent Kerala University of Health Sciences, at the Inter

University ChessChampionship 2018.

Ayurveda Medical College Hospital held on 29thNovember, 2018 at

11.00 AM. Principal, Dr. G. Nagabhushanam inaugurated the

function followed by rituals in thepresence of Adharaneeya Swami

Madhusree Jnana Thapaswi , Dr. Janani Remyaprabha Jnana

Thapaswini , and thestaff and students of Santhigiri Ayurveda

Medical College and Hospital.

Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College students participated in the

Kerala University of Health Sciences C ZoneShuttle Badminton

Championship held at Nehru College of Pharmacy, Ottappalam

andboth in individual event and team event in the women s

category. Ms. Gopika CM, 3rd Year , won3rd place in individual

event and team event was won by Ms. Gopika CM of 3rd year

BAMS & Ms. Sruthi N Raj ofFinal Year BAMS.

Health Sciences Central Zone football tournament atGovernment

Medical College, Thrissur held on 2nd December 2018

16 2nd Dec 2018 A Medical Camp was conducted at Olassery SBS School on

2ndDecember, 2018 together with Rajiv Gandhi Co-operative

Hospital,Palakkad on the occasion of Grievances Adalat organized

byJanamaithri Police, South Police Station, Palakkad. The function

wasinaugurated by Sri, Debeshkumar Bhahra, District Police

Chief,Palakkad. Dr. Sasmitha S, Deputy Medical Superintendent,

Dr.Rashin Chandrasekharan, Dr. Uma Haimavathy

andDr.Manjusha.B attendedthe Camp together with a team of 15

House Surgeons and 4 Supporting Staff.

The college conducted bhaasha sanskrita shibiram for thestudents

of first year BAMS in collabration with VishvaSanskrita Bharati for

introducing the new students to the ancient language. from 4th to

17th December 2018. Theclasses were conducted by Shri Mohanan

Master and Mrs. Remya, faculty from vishva sanskrit bharati.

Retiredsanskrit Professor Dr. Swaminathan was the chief guest for

the samapana sammelan where the students showcasedtheir

talent in sanskrit.

Dr. C Sudhakar Memorial Cricket League 2018 was conducted on

5th , 6th & 13th Dec 18 at our CollegeGround comprising of two

teams of students and a teacher s cricket team. The top two teams

of the leaguecompeted in the final for the Dr. Sudhakar Everolling

trophy in which the teacher s team became victorious.Dr. Bishnu

was declared man of the match and D.Sudharshan claimed the

man of the series trophy.

2018 at the college on 18th December2018 by conducting Crib

making, Christmas carol, Wreath Making and Santa Claus

competitions. Christmascake was cut by Principal and distributed

to everyone followed by prize distribution for the winners

ofcompetitions and concluded with cultural programmes.

College Day 2018 Dwani was celebrated on 19th December 2018

at the college auditorium. Dr. G.Nagabhushanam inaugurated the

function presided by in the blessed presence of Dr.Janani

Remyaprabha Njana thapaswini, Sri Ashok PJ, Sri Simon H and

union members, staff and students. Prizeswere distributed for the

winners of overall championship of Arts and Sports day and also to

the winners of KUHSsports championships. The students

showcased their arts and cultural talents during the celebrations.

Thehighlight of the function was a special S ingari Melam

performance by Anuraga kala Samithi.

officially took oath of office on 19th dec 2018at the

collegeauditorium. Dr. Divya CS, staff advisor Students

union,administered the oath . ChairpersonMiss Dhanya A, General

Babu and otheroffice bearers took over charge from the previous

union.

24 21st Dec 2018 The Women s Kho kho team of Santhigiri Ayurveda MedicalCollege

became the C Zone champions inKerala University of Health

Sciences C Zone Women s Kho Kho Championship held on 21st

December2018 at Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur.

The 7 day NSS special residential camp Swastya was held atGovt

High School, malampuzha from 21st to27th December 2018. The

camp was inaugurated by Smt. Indira Ramachandran,Panchayat

president alongwith the health standing committee, PTA president,

HM Govt high school, and other office bearers. The

NSS unit volunteers were involved in various cleaning and service

activities. On 23rd, a general health survey ofthe 13th ward of the

panchayat comprising of 150 houses was done followed by a free

Aayurveda medical campon 24th December whichbenefitted more

than 100 patients. The premises of the schoolwas cleaned and

someof the structures rebuilt and painted. The students

constructed a new herbal and ornamental plant garden inthe

school . The camp concluded on 27th December with a nature trek

for the volunteers to the Dhoniwaterfalls which was followed by

the valedictory function.

26 21st Dec 2018 In order to introduce the students to the customs and heritage of

Santhigiri Ashram, the first year BAMS students visited

theSanthigiri Ashramat Pothencode , Trivandrum on 20th and 21st

of December 2018.

Every year Agastya maharshi jayanthi is being observed as SIDDHA

DAY and this year Siddha Day wascelebrated on 26 December 2018

at the Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College Extension centre,

Palakkad in thepresence of senior siddha practitioners anddoctors.

Dr. G. Nagabhushanam, Principal, SAMC felicitated Dr.Unnikrishnan

(Senior physician, Arogyodayam Hospital), Sri Radhakrishnan

(traditional siddha practitioner)and the final year students of

Santhigiri Siddha Medical College, Trivandrum.

28 11th Jan 19 The final year students of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College

visited the Government Ayurveda research institute for mental

diseases,Kottakkal on 11th January 2019 for additional exposure in

the diagnosis and management of various mental diseases and also

to learn aboutpreventive mental health, stress management and

role of life style modifications in treating mental disorders..

Kithab 2019 was conducted from 15th to 19th January 2019. The

Off stage events were held at Govt. Medical College, Ernakulam on

15th and 16th and the on stage events at Govt. Ayurveda Medical

College, Thrippunitura from 17th till 19th January. The Students of

The Women s Kho Kho team of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical

College became the first runner up in KUHSinterzone Kho Kho

championship held on23rd - 24th January 2019 at P K Das Medical

College, Ottapalam

31 24th Jan 19 As per the request of the DMO ISM, Palakkad, the 3rd year

students of our college were deputed to attend Balamukulam

medical camporganised by ISM palakkad, at Govt. UP school

meenakshipuram on 24th January 2019. Balamukulam health

scheme is implemented with theaim of improving school children s

physical and mental health through Ayurveda. Regular medical

camps and screening programmes areconducted predominently

aiming respiratory, digestive, skin, learning and lifestyle disorders.

Medications, yoga therapy, counselling areprovided by experts.

The students from class one to seven benefitted from this

programme.

National conference on educational administration and excellence

of ISM convened by CCIM held on 21st - 22nd January 2019 at J N

Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science,Bengaluru.

33 26th Jan 2019 The Republic Day was celebrated at the college on 26th January

2019 by hoisting the National flag at 8:30 AMfollowed presidential

address by Dr. G Nagabhushanam, Principal. The event

wasfelicitated by Dr. JananiRemyaprabha njana thapaswini, Sri.

Muraleedharan, Sri Ashok PJ, Dr. Vishnu K R, Dr. Aswin. Students,

staff andNSS volunteers participated in the function.

interactive session Pareeksha Pe Charcha 2.0 withthe Honourable

Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi on exam and related stress

conducted at Talkatora stadium on29th January 2019 through

Video conference.

35 30th Jan 19 The house surgeons, 3rd year and 4th year students of Santhigiri

Ayurveda Medical College participated in aCME programme ,

Pradeepta, organized by Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College,

Kothamangalam on 30thJanuary 2019. It was an enlightening

seminar by eminent clinicians and academicians from different

streams ofAyurveda focussing on various clinical aspects, diagnosis

and its management .

36 30th Jan 2019 Kerala University of Health SciencesFirst Professional BAMS

Regular Examination (2017 batch) results were published and our

studentsKavya R and Sneha were awarded distinction. Thirty five

students of the institution were awarded first class in the

examination.

37 30th Jan 2019 Martyr s day was observed on 30th January 2019 paying tribute to

the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. A two minute silence in

memoryof Indian martyrs was observed in the campus at 11 AM.

The seminar organized on 1st and 2nd February 2019 by Amrita

School of Ayurveda, Vallikkavu, Kollam wasinsightful with the

presentations and discussions on principles, evaluations, practices

and various solutions by manyresearches and experts in the field

of male and female infertility. Dr.G.Nagabhushanam, Principal,

Santhigiri AyurvedaMedical College chaired a session of paper

presentation on Conceptual studies related to infertility . He was

also aresource person for the Paarayana competition . The faculty

of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College,Dr.Amritha.M.R, Dr.Anjali.S

and Dr.Kiran.K.Prasad participated in this seminar as resource

persons. Our final yearand third year students participated in the

Paarayana competition conducted as part of the seminar and won

third placein the group event.

39 3rd Feb 2019 Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College Hospital conducted a Medical

Camp at Hotel Tripenta at Malampuzha on 3rd February 2019. A

Team ofDoctors, House Surgeons, Nurse, Lab Technicians attended

the Camp and consultations, lab investigations and medications

were done for thepatients who attended the camp.

The students and staff of our college participated in International

Ayush Conclave held at Nishagandhi Auditorium,Thiruvanthapuram

from 15th February 2018 to 18th February 2018. As part of the

conclave, a four day Health Expowas coonducted at the

sooryakanthi ground and our college exhibited a Stall under the

theme "Rasasasthra &Bhaishajakalpana"

41 19th Feb 2019 As part of Kerala University of Health Sciences - Students Support

and Guidance Program, an awareness class

onWomenEmpowerment was conducted on 19th February 2019

by a team from Women Cell working under KeralaPolice,led by Ms.

Krishnapriya, Sub.Inspector of Police, Palakkad.

42 20th Feb 2019 College Union Day (DAKSHA 2019) was celebrated on 20th

February 2019 at the college. Famous Musician andplayback singer

in Palakkad, Sri.Anil Kallekulangara was the Chief Guest for the day,

who inaugurated thecelebrations and later on entertained the

audience by singing few famous malayalam melodies.The

beneditoryaddress was given by Swami Chandradeepthan Njana

Thapaswi (In-Charge, Santhigiri Ashram & Area OfficePalakkad) and

Inauguration of Jnana Deepam, was carried out by Dr. G.

Nagabhushanam. After the officialfunction, the students

showcased their artistic talents on the stage.

The Interzone cultural fest of Kerala University of Health Sciences,

Sapere Aude 2019 was held from 23rd to 27th Feb 2019 at

Thrissur. The Students of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College
