Configuring SAP Solution Manager
1. The customer‗s SAP Solution Manager system has to be on Support
Package level SP23 (SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 SP23) or higher*.
2. Transaction SOLMAN_SETUP has to be executed. This will automatically
configure all relevant basic settings.
3. If guidance is needed, we strongly recommend the Expert Guided
Implementation Service „Basic configuration and update― (see next
slides).
Time effort:
- Upgrade of existing SAP Solution Manager system: The effort for
upgrading SAP Solution Manager to SP23* is roughly 1 day (if the system is
already on EHP1, otherwise the effort will be higher).
- New installation of SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 SP23*: The effort
for setting up SAP Solution Manager „from scratch― heavily depends on the
customer‗s system landscape, the hardware used etc. A rough estimate for
a setup which can be used for Business Suite 7i2010 is 4 to 5 days.

Content of the Expert Guided Implementation for Implementation Projects is to explain SAP‘s Accelerated SAP project methodology
and best practices in SAP Solution Manager. After the service you will know how to access the necessary project roadmap
documentation provided in SAP Solution Manager to implement new and enhanced business processes to you solution landscape in
the most efficient manner. You will be able to create an SAP Solution Manager project, link to your project roadmaps, assign your
