Having testified yesterday thatDiggs bought the transportation, itwas necessary for her today to makegood the contention of the govern-ment that the trip was taken, in thelanguage of the statute "for immoralpurposes."

With lowered eyes, but without fal-

Taking up her narrative where sheleft it yesterday at the adjournmentof court, she continued:

"After arriving in Reno on March10, we had luncheon and then we wentto the Riverside hotel, while Diggsand Caininettl went to a real estateoffice. They said they were going torent a bungalow and that they intend-ed to remain in Reno about sixmonths.

Four bystanders were shot serious-

South street last night, when a spe-

cial policeman waved an American

flag in the race of an Industrial Work-

people gathered at the scene of theshooting, and it was necessary to callout the fire department to dispensethe crowd. None of the injured willdie.

The Industrial Worker of the Worldorator had been talking on the streetfor some time and had just utteredthe words, "I am not one of thosewho stand for this law and

order," when Axel Steele, a formerdeputy sheriff, waved a flag in hisface and proclaimed his defense ofthe law. At the same moment sev-

eral shots were fired and four by-

standers fell seriously wounded, while

three others received minor injuries. The shooting was done by members

of the Industrial Workers of theWorld, four of whom were arrestedcharged with inciting a riot. Beforethe police and fire departments fin-

ally succeeded in clearing the street, however, 'more than a score of arrestshad been made.

When the police attempted to clearthe streets after the shooting, the In-

dustrial Workers, of the World ora-

tors refused to leave their stands, and

urged on by the listeners, began call-

ing for "free speech," which they con-

tinued until they were driven fromthe street by several streams of waterfrom fire hose. The police were morethan an hour in restoring order.

Chief of Police B. F. Grant an-

nounced that he would not permit theIndustrial Workers of the World to

again hold meetings on the street here, and said that he had issued orders toarrest any member of the order who

attempted to do so. During the riotseveral members of the IndustrialWorkers of the World were heardto call to their comrades to shoot thepolice, but all such were quickly dis-

armed and taken to the police station. It was said that several of the menarrested tonight would be chargedwith attempted murder.

Uow well they have succeeded may bejudired from the fact that their practiceembraces cases from every State and Ter-

ritory of the Union us well as from foreignlands. Many thousands are annuallytreated, either through correspondenceor at Dr. I'jeree's Institution. It is anold adage that. "Experience makes per-fect." and the skilled specialists In thisHeld of practice cure thousands of caseswhich have been abandoned as incurableby general practitioners.

One of the most wonderful electricalappliances is the X-r- used at the Insti-tute which may be used both in the treat-ment of various diseases and in the diag-nosis of manv obscure conditions. Withits aid the interior of the human body isno longer the sealed book it has bet n heret-ofore." Another interesting proceeding is theviolet-ra- y treat ment, produced by concen-trating the violet or chemical rays froman arc light with a specially preparedcarbon upon any portion of the body thatmay be the seat of pain. Sufferers fromneuralgia, sciatica, rheumatism, strains, sprains, also from those obscure exhaust-ing pains (the origin of which cannot at,times be accurately determined) frequent-ly tind immediate relief from a singletreatment and usually with a little per-sistence in the use of this aid. comfortablehealth or perfect recovery is obtained.

The incandescent light bath, consistingof a cabinet in which the patient isbathed in the combined rays of manyelectric light globes, has produced reallywonderful results in diabetes, sciatica, rheumatism, obesity, iinieniia, and someforms of kidney and heart trouble. Ithas also proven valuable in chronic bron-
