Introduction to Your Reading

The Spring Ritual Tea readings is focused on our inner child and how this child could be sabotaging our lives. What does our inner child need from us and how can we play in a way that is healing for us?

We are also introducing the Ceccoli Tarot. A fine art deck with deeply symbolic meanings imbedding in a child-like fantasy world that may look like child’s play but confronts from serious perspectives.

How do you make sense of the card to the questions in the reading? What unique attributes does the Ceecol Tarot lend to the reading? What can you glean from your reading and apply it to your life? That is what this workbook is all about. Understanding Your Reading Format

In the Ritual Tea Magazine this quarter, we offer a three-part tarot series on how to get the most from your tarot readings. The first article discusses the different types of tarot readings. The type of tarot readings we offer in our boxes is the pre-formatted kind. Our readings offer a framework, theme and pre- chosen questions with tarot meanings that change with the deck and the season.

How you apply this reading to your life is something you have to do. How the reading will manifest in your life is something you decide. And this tarot workbook is designed to make it easier, fun and enlightening

Tarot Review and Correspondence:

Ceccoli Tarot

Nicoletta Ceccoli is an Italian artist living is San Merino. Her work can be found all over the world. She started illustrating for children’s books in 1995. Ceccoli is a master of compositional harmony that explores more emotionally complex themes like innocence and sexuality and love and loss. Ceccoli has described her work as attempting to “offer a delectable balance of repulsive and attractive. What is beautiful, sweet, and chaste hides often dark suggestions.” At first you believe this deck is all about children in lollipop land. This tarot is not about children or their imaginary world. The children are adults; they are us. We are still children, and this is the land of energy, intention, perception and experiences.

Ceccoli tackles some very tough issues in the truths regarding violation, threats, trauma, self-perception and the products of our thoughts and intentions.

This tarot relies heavily in its connection to nature especially animals. While seemingly pretty and refined from a western point of view, the tarot is surprisingly shamanistic and a journey into an alternate reality.

The characters are colorful, interesting and sometimes frightening. When looked at from a shamanic point of view, the card meanings coupled with the picture the reader can get a shocking impression of the energy at work. For example, the Ace of Swords shows a blond

It’s a blond child a blue dress that’s stained with blood from the lollipop head she is eating. The lollipop head obviously miserable with blood coming from its head. It reminds me that with every opportunity we take advantage of, we destroy others. The 10 of Swords shows a knife with legs penetrating the cake dress of another blond child. “Blood” spills from the large cut in the dress. Five of Swords shows a brunette child with a huge butch knife raised up in her hands and she readies to chop the head of the turnip she restrains with her knee. In this case, the turnip root a very phallic symbol. Ceccoli not only broaches the subject of violent energy, but also Eve and the serpent. Apples reoccur within the tarot also as a reference to the Garden and Eve.

Within this tarot narrative, Ceccoli emphasizes the innocence of the

children often within confusing, violent or puedo-sexual circumstances. It really does exemplify the unconscious manifestation of these types of energies and circumstances we often find ourselves in. We are both at once in charge and being directed by another self, the inner child.

Tarot Reading Workbook

Welcome to your Tarot Reading Workbook. The goal of this book is to refine the tarot reading within your box to be more personal and related directly to you. This is done via questions that ask you to probe your feelings, thoughts and intuition. But, from what frame of reference do you approach your reading? How do you read the cards when there are so many vantage points at which to view the meanings? We have provided two Tarot Guides within the workbook to help you with this directly. These tarot guides were chosen based on a reading done for you by asking the tarot: • “What frame of reference would help box subscriber’s get the

most out of their reading in reference to their inner child?” • “What is the universal issue and frame of reference about healing

our relationship with our inner child would be the most helpful to box subscribers when viewing their reading for a second time?”

Sometimes a reading poses challenges and we need assistance. It happens to all of us including the most seasoned readers. You can reach out for assistance within our Facebook group at Facebook.com/tarot.n.teas and ask us questions!

Tarot Guide #1 Go to the pictures of the cards in your reading and one by one close your eyes and open them- what is the first thing you see or notice about the card? Was it being acted out? Was it a color or symbols you see?

Your First Tarot Guide: Knight of Cups The Knight of Cups encourages you to look upon your reading like an adventure where you will discover secrets. Secrets are not always easy to uncover. Sometimes, they are hiding in plain sight. Look for the obvious first and then go back to look for the secrets. What do you find exciting in the reading? Are there things that stand out for you, but you don’t necessarily understand what it means? Its ok. Jot the down. Are there ideas with in the cards that might help you achieve something? Might the cards be suggesting how to move from where you are not to where you want to be? After you are done looking and finding the treasure in your readings, how realistic are these ideas? Is there only a part that might applicable? Cultivate excitement and you will find it.

Look at each card again. Pick out a detail or group of details from each card that indicates if the card is positive, negative or neutral. Why?

What does each card trigger when you look at it? Go with your first thoughts.

Forget what you think you know about tarot. What keywords would you use for what you see in the cards individually?

What key words would you give to the spread as a whole (not the individual cards)?

Finally, go back and look upon each card again. What needs to be let go of? What needs to change so you might have a more satisfying relationship with your inner child? What is weighing you down and keeping you from playing?

Go to the pictures of your cards and one by one close your eyes and open them- what is the first thing you see or notice about the card? Was it an expression on a face? Was it a color or a tiny detail? HAVE THEY CHANGED or taken on any different meanings from the last time you read the cards? Look at them from the aspect of your guide, Three of Pentacles Reversed. Now what do you see?

Your Second Tarot Guide: King of Swords The King of Swords is an excellent counter balance to our first guide, the Knight of Wands. The King understands the benefits of adventure, dreaming and treasure hunting, but at the end of the day there needs to be something useful. The King encourages us to use our experience and intellect to figure out what answers are most appropriate for us and yet still remain objective… an observer into our life and into the reading. Seek advice from trusted advisors. No king makes decisions by himself and neither should you. Ask the hard and probing questions. At the end of the day, the answers you have must make sense for you, be practical and attainable but not devote of adventure, spirit and contact with the divine.

Look at each card again. Pick out a detail or group of details from each card that indicates if the card is positive, negative or neutral. Why?

A word about reversals: Reversals in tarot does not mean “bad”. It does not necessarily denote anything negative. It is the opposite polarity of the upright meaning and might indicate a block, a fear, or it might be pointing to something internal versus external. Please remember there a positives and negatives associate with all cards no matter their orientation.

HAS the Positive or Negative impression of each card changed? Why?

What does each card trigger when you look at it? Go with your first thoughts especially with any impression related to your guides message.

This time review the definitions for your triggers.

Tarot Workbook and Deck Review

© 2019 Tarot-N-Tea

Now review the spread has a whole through the definitions. Try to find relationships between all the cards. What key words would you give to the spread as a whole (not the individual cards)? How does your impression as a whole relate to your guides message, or does it at all?

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP between all the cards according to the definitions as it pertains to you and the questions?

What keywords would you use for what you see in the cards individually that jump out at you or are significant for you from the definitions?

Make up the story that you see in each card using a sentence or two from what stands out for you or seems like it pertains to you from the definitions. Combine those sentences into a made-up story for the reading as a whole.

Tarot Workbook and Deck Review

© 2019 Tarot-N-Tea

Write the story of the cards. Combine what you wrote in part one, with what you now have written in part two. The goal now is to combine what you felt in the beginning with what you are drawn too and speaks to you now. What provides direction and answers for your immediate life but also for what is sustainable that can lead to a successful outcome in the future? Pay particular attention to the answers you formulate and how they relate to the questions that were asked in your reading.

You don’t have to be perfect and you do not have to have all the answers. It is OK if this does not make

sense in places. This is a rough draft.

This information should lead to answers you need to improve your relationship and connection to the angels in a meaningful and fulfilling way. As you are practicing your tea rituals and connecting your inner child, check back with this workbook every week. What makes more sense now? How has the aspect of the reading been playing out in your life? How has the reading been helpful? Add these updates to your workbook. Finally, there are times when a reading opens up tender and personal spaces with information that requires more specific inquiry or brings up other questions.
