The Place:

Okpella is a kingdom situated along Benin-Abuja federal high way road. It is a town in Edo State, Nigeria

and one of the three main towns that make up Etsakor East Local Government Area of Edo State. Okpella is

known for its natural mineral resources, which include limestone, calcium, and granite, and attract

investors for the people of Okpella Kingdom. The people are predominantly farmers, and are known to

grow in large numbers, yams and cassava. Its Ewo market, located on the busy Benin-Abuja Road and

congregates every fourth day. Okpella is a beautiful and natural town with polite happy citizens who share

a communal bond prevalent in most African societies, the town also consist of majority of Christians and

Muslims in the minority. people of Okpella are hospitable and friendly.

The Clans that make up Okpella are: Afokpella ,Awuyemi ,Iddo ,Imiegele ,Imekuri ,Okugbe ,Oku

Evidence of other more exotic Solid Minerals as Tourmaline, Dolomite 20% and Calcite97%, Columbite,

Tantalite (Grade 13-18),Feldspar (Ceramic grade), Clays (30-50%), Gold, tin, Lead, Zinc ,Silver and

Gemstones (Beryl, Aqua Marine, Tourmaline, Amethyst, Emerald), Mercury, Platinum and other mineral

contents.

We currently own more than 200 hectares of (Glassy Pearl and Alabaster) Granite deposit and we require

Joint venture Partners.

There are so many Quarries producing Chips as well as the Dangote and BUA Cement Factories, making it

an industrial community.Ours will be the first Dimension Stone Factory in this community. Hence it has a

reasonable portion of Expatriates dwelling therein.

Our journey started a long time ago in late 2003. By 27th September 2004, the initial license was issued by

the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals as administered by the Edo State Government with License number

30057 by Decree of 1999 section 198 (5) for 0.5 Hectares. which was the maximum, no matter how big the

field was, that could be issued at a time to any company per license. There was no proper legislation and

policies in favor of Solid Mineral Industrial development nor could such policies attract the necessary

foreign investment especially for Dimension Stone production requiring high capital. Much emphasis was

on Oil and Gas.

Today, the situation is different. The Solid Mineral Business is accorded due regard and though the Government is

still the owner of all Mineral Resources, they still have to take permission from the Land Owners to allocate to any

firm that so intends to exploit and benefit from such a mineral deposit.

Hence a new approval process different from the maximum 0.5 Hectare regime then in force.

Though we still are not there, we have covered a lot of grounds with the new Cadastre policy of the Federal Republic

of Nigeria. Our aim to produce Tiles, Slabs and Blocks from our Glass Pearl Granite deposit in Iddo, Okpella is

encouraged.

Pre Production Demand.

Though we have not commenced operations/Operations, veteran Tile Dealers and manufacturers worldwide who

know the value and quality of this Raw Material are already requesting for Distributorship.

The Company; Ahammadu International Ventures Limited

Established in !997, just after acquiring the Granite Deposit from the

community, it has been in the process of developing the Granite Factory to this

stage. Hence, we have not done any other Business till date.

The Tiles business is a new development in the Nigeria Industry hence even

Government legislation has not being able to differentiate Dimension Stone

manufacturing from the Business of crushing Stones to produce Chips

(Aggregate Production).

Thus the present Cadastre Lease of 5 years renewable period, even though

better than the previous situation of 1 year renewable for a space not larger

than 0.5 Hectares, is not conducive for the heavy capital investment required

for Dimension Stones (Tiles, Slabs, Blocks and Cut to size Business)

This requires a minimum License round/period of 25 years and an enabling

legislation that will allow the owner of such an asset place this as Collateral for

the purpose of raising capital for the development of this nature of Factory.

CAPITAL IMPORTATION CERTIFICATE (CCI)

Those familiar with how CCI (Capital Importation Certificate) is obtained noted that foreign

exchange comes into the country through loans and equity and any foreigner that wishes to

invest in Nigeria will send his foreign currency either by telegraphic transfer or other

negotiable instruments.
