We appreciate your support of the Oklahoma Rural Water Association.
As a valued member, your membership dues help to sustain important training, technical assistance, legislative programs and many other programs that benefit system members. This includes our Leak Detection Program, Source Water Protection Plans, short term loan program, ORWA’s Assurance Group and more.
Each year, ORWA makes more than 3,500 on-site technical assistance visits to small water and wastewater systems. The visits assist with a wide array of distribution, treatment and other important system needs, as well as improving system operations, growing revenues, lowering expenses and losses and enhancing system compliance. Your continued support has helped system directors, operators and managers to receive the ODEQ approved board member training, certification or renewal training hours for license requirements.
ORWA would like to thank you for your support of the ORWEF Scholarship Fund. Last year, the Oklahoma Rural Water Enrichment Foundation awarded 25 scholarships to deserving and qualified students throughout the rural areas of Oklahoma. We have recently taken over management of the Oklahoma soonerWARN Program, which you can sign up for at soonerWARN.org. We continue to grow our efforts to reach out to our rural water and wastewater members to assist in developing and implementing a plan for your system’s success. Your continued support will help build a stronger, more effective association to serve you and represent your views on important issues. Please review the enclosed list of services provided by ORWA.
We continue to implement our long range plan that will facilitate sustainability for our member systems. We are working closely with ODEQ, OWRB and other agencies that are supportive of our program.

At last year’s Annual Technical Conference and Exposition, we had more than 600 attendees. We look forward to seeing you again on April 16-18, 2019 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center for our 49th Annual Technical Conference. The cost is $500 per booth. If your company is not an Associate Member but would like to exhibit, the cost is $950 per booth. Electricity is $40. Please bring your own extension cords.

The way it works:1. Items to be auctioned are donated by companies or individuals only.2. Each item donated is displayed. A box with the name of the item and the donor is placed beside it.3. For each $20.00 contribution, you will receive 20 tickets plus one drawing ticket for the riding mower.4. Deposit tickets in the box for whichever item you wish to win. There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be purchased or placed in any box. This system will allow people to choose which items they are interested in and bid on those items, thus increasing their chances to win the item of their choice.

We are currently looking for associates who are interested in participating in hands-on training classes, giving demonstrations of their products or simply exhibiting their products. This is an indoor event and electricity will be available (please bring your own extension cords). For security purposes, the Expo Center will be locked at 5:00 p.m. on June 12th. Outdoor exhibits will also be available and proper arrangements can be made upon request. You will be responsible for your own security if you choose to have an outdoor exhibit.

ORWA has received approval from ODEQ to implement a new training event exclusive to the upcoming Expo. During this event, known as the “training demo,” attendees will have the option to rotate between select vendor booths for four, 15 minute demonstrations. These demonstrations combined will count as credit for one hour of renewal training. Due to space and time restraints, the vendor participation will be limited. If your company is interested in participating in this event, please select “yes” in the options above to be contacted with more information. To increase participation, we encourage you to bring promotional items and conduct contests at your demonstration area. Dear Associates,
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again for the Fall Conference at Sequoyah State Lodge, August 21-23, 2019. The booth form is enclosed with detailed information on booth fees. Please bring your own extension cords if you need electricity.
The bass tournament will be Wednesday, August 21, with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. at the fishing dock. The tournament will be held 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. A “fish fry,” sponsored by Utility Technology Services will be provided for participants in the bunkhouse following the tournament. The golf tournament, sponsored by BancFirst, will also be on Wednesday, August 21, with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m.. Information for both tournaments will be emailed closer to the event.
A barbeque, sponsored by donations from associates, will be on Thursday, August 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the bunkhouse. The barbeque is open to everyone and donations are welcomed. The sponsor letter from AY McDonald will be emailed closer to the event.

Dear ORWA Associates,
Hello all! Please mark your calendars for the Oklahoma Rural Water Association’s Fall Conference and Exposition August 21st through August 23rd, 2019. The conference will be held at Sequoyah State Lodge on Fort Gibson Lake.
On Thursday, August 22nd at 5:30 p.m., there will be an ORWA “Associate Sponsored” BBQ at the bunkhouse by the pool. We need your support to make the BBQ a huge success! To assist in paying for this event, contributions of $50, $100 or more would be graciously accepted.
Donor names will be placed on a sign as a sponsor for the BBQ. In addition, sponsors will receive recognition in the ORWA Advocate. All contributions to the BBQ are greatly appreciated!
