Now computers are used everywhere to reduce the manpower requirements, ease of the efficiency. So the scope of computer science is endless. Computer Science and Engineering students are in high demand as far as industry recruiters are concerned. Depending upon the interest of the student, he/she may choose to go for higher studies or if employed can choose to do research, development, design production, application, testing or management in the Information Technology industry. ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

The Department of Computer Science andEngineering of Velalar College of Engineering andTechnology has inaugurated the MAGNUMOPUS-Association of Computer Science and Engineeringon 27.07.2018, Friday at 03:10 pm. The functionwas honoured by Mr.Karthick Subramanian,Augusta hi-tech soft solutions. He also addressed the gathering by a motivationalspeech. He gave very suitable examples for varioussituations to achieve success.Thiru.S.D.Chandrasekar, Secretary &Correspondent of Vellalar Educational Trust,presided over the function and spoke about thecurrent scope of IT field in which in coming yearsall will be placed in reputed companies. Dr.M.Jayaraman, Principal gave his felicitation tothe gathering. Dr.S.Jabeenbegum, HOD/CSE,welcomed the gathering and introduced the officebearers. The secretary of MAGNUMOPUS Ms. P.Ananthipresented the action plan for this academic year2018-2019.

The duration of this onlinecourse is 8 hours and at the endof each module, the studentsneed to attend the test. At the end of the course, an ecertificate was provided to thosewho cleared the test. First and second year studentsattended the course and gotpersuaded.

The Department of Computer Science andEngineering in coordination with ICT Academyhas conducted “Cloud Literacy Day’2018” on12.10.2018 for all the first and second year UGstudents. The assemblage was addressed by HoD of CSEand IT, Velalar College for Engineering andTechnology, Thindal. The objective of thisfunction is to know about the basics of Cloudinfrastructure and to enhancethe self- learningcapability of the students.

GUEST LECTURE We had conducted a GuestLecture on Study in AbroadCanada, Europe 18.07.2018,Monday at 10:00 am. Thefunction was honored by Mr.Osama Sayed, BusinessDevelopment Consultant,Mumbai. He also delivered thelecture.

We had conducted a GuestLecture on Android,01.09.2018, Saturday at 10:00am. The function was honoredby Mr.V.Rajakumareswaran,Admire Solutions, He alsodelivered the lecture

We had conducted a Guest Lecture on Hands ontraining on IoT, 15.09.2018, Saturday at 09:30am.The function was honored by Mr.R.Anbarasan,Project Development Engineer, Crescent InfoTech Pvt. Ltd. He also delivered the lecture.

TECHNICAL SEMINAR We had conducted the TechnicalSeminar on Advanced PHPProgramming 13.08.2018, Mondayat 03:00 pm. The function washonored by Mr.N.Prabhu, ETSAcademy. He also delivered thelecture. He gave very suitableexamples for various applications.

The Department of Computerscience and Engineering of VelalarCollege of Engineering andTechnology has conducted aTechnical Seminar on RaspberryPi on 25.09.18,Tuesday at 09.00am. The function was honored byMr.S.V.Abisek, Director,ZelightRobotics. He also deliveredthe lecture.

We had conducted a TechnicalSeminar on Graph Theory and itsApplications on 24.09.18 and25.09.18, Monday and Tuesday at09.00 am. The function was honoredby Dr.K.K.Myithili ASP &Head/Mathematics, VCW Thindal.She also delivered the lecture.

INTRA DEPARTMENT MEET The Association of ComputerScience and Engineering-MAGNUMOPUS organized intradepartment meet on 01.09.2018(Saturday).The meet includedboth technical and non-technicalevents.

TECHNICAL QUIZ In the Technical Quiz theparticipants proved theirknowledge over the variousfields like technical, generalknowledge etc., Fun eventshelped us to test the criticalthinking of our students andthey proved that they aresecond to none. Prizes wereannounced for the students whotopped the score list. Studentsfrom our department tirelesslyparticipated in all the events.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION

The duration of this online course is 8 hours and atthe end of each module, the students need to attendthe test. At the end of the course, an e certificate wasprovided to those who cleared the test. First and second year students attended the courseand got persuaded.
