Parents, carers or older siblings must not enter school building’s unless they have arranged a meeting with a teacher or have business at the office.

Gladstone Park Primary 2020 Year 6 Graduation

SALINI 6A

Graduation was… interesting. Although we didn’t have a traditional graduation, it was one of a kind. At the beginning of 2020, I would have never thought my graduation would have turned out like this, in a school gym, burgers for the food and over a livestream to all the parents and family at home. I know our graduation wasn’t as perfect as we thought, I’m really grateful that I even graduated with my friends and teachers and not on Zoom in my living room!

This Year’s graduation was … different! Covid-19 hit us hard, but we are slowly getting better. As the restrictions started to ease, we found out that we would be able to have a graduation! Just hearing that word made my year. We all knew that it would be much different, but we didn’t know how different. Late October is when we figured out some of the de-tails, but much different to the actual graduation. We were told that our graduation would be class by class since we couldn’t mix into other classes! Luckily, much later that changed. It was the week before graduation when it started to feel real! I was so scared that this graduation would be a letdown, but it was certainly not.

DEHARA 6A

Our graduation was amazing! The teachers really did their best and worked their hardest to make it memorable. I just

wished that I was more professional up on camera! That day was so much fun and I’d love to do it again. We had burgers

and fries to fill our stomachs and to top it off we had a jam donut! My friends and I spent most of the time at the photo

booth taking some beautiful selfies! That was one of the BEST days I’ve ever had. Thank you very much, teachers, you

really outdid our graduation!

KURUMI HARUKI 6B

On the 15th of December, we had our Year 6 Graduation. The ceremony was live streamed so family and friends could

watch their children graduate from primary school. A photo booth was hired so students could take photos to remember

the day. At the end of the ceremony students signed each other’s bears and reminisced over the last seven years of

memories. The overall graduation was different to previous years, but everyone enjoyed themselves and are ready to

move onto the next chapter……High School.

YOULLUNDA KORO 6B

Wow! What an amazing day it was. Spending time with my mates and finally graduating from grade 6. We signed each

others bears and shared an amazing lunch together. The graduation was really diverse and we all had an amazing time.

Now, we are ready to continue our journey into high school and start creating new memories.

Graduation was an absolute blast! There were speeches being read, awards being handed out, graduation bears being

received, delectable food being eaten and photos being taken! Graduation sure was magical and I’m running out of

words to describe the fun & laughter there was in the air. Everybody was all glammed up and they looked fancy & amaz-

ing! We all loved the photo booth and the silly props there were to use. The highlight of the day for me was most defi-

nitely the award I achieved and the food I devoured in seconds! It was a delicious burger with fries. We also got a hot jam

donut, it was the most mouth-watering donut I’ve ever tasted. But the most exciting thing of all was when I got to wit-

ness all of my respectful peers, friends and I graduate. Our seven years flew before our eyes. It’s been a tough year but

we managed just fine. Congrats to all the graduates and thank you to all the staff and teachers for these memorable

years you’ve given us.

LOCHANA 6C On Tuesday all of the grade sixes had the weirdest graduation we’ve ever had. We didn’t go to a venue, we had it in the gym! The teachers decorated it and I think it was better than the venue. The class representatives and the teachers all had a speech before we individually graduated. Then, it was time for the FOOD! We had burgers from the real OG food truck and they were delicious. Afterwards we signed the bears. We had a lot of fun, even though 2020’s been a real kick in the shins, I’m glad we had a graduation as good as this one.

BINDAYA WELLA HEWAGE 6C

Graduation was held on Tuesday the 15th of December, 2020 in the school gym. The gym was decorated nicely for the

day with lights, photos and more. The day started of with all grade 6 students meeting at the new buildings so they could

talk and play on the computers. Everyone was dressed up very nicely in formal attire and looked great. At 10:30AM we all

went to the gym and sat at our designated seats, from alphabetical order. The graduation was live streamed as well as

recorded. We all got our graduation certificates and three students were given a higher award. After the live stream fin-

ished, we moved the tables and chairs and had lunch. We had been given burgers from a food truck and they were deli-

cious. There was a selfie wall as well as a photo booth which always had a long line. We had been given a lot of food and

at the end of the day we had been given our graduation bears and we all went around and signed them. Overall the day

was actually really fun and a day I will never forget.

GRADUATION

6A MS MARTIN, 6B MISS PATTI, 6C MRS CHAPMAN

November 2020.

Dear Parents

Gladstone Park Primary School has a reputation for delivering quality and extremely high educational outcomes for its students. We must ensure this high standard is maintained.

In 2021 School Council will charge $185 per child for the Essential Student Learning Supplies. The

amount of $185 per child includes everything your child will need with regard to classroom supplies and curriculum resources and materials.

The overriding rationale for setting a Student Requisite and Materials Contribution is to ensure that all students are provided with the best possible range and quality of educational resources and equipment.

The Government pays a major portion of operating costs of the school such as gas, electricity, cleaning, maintenance and repairs. As well, the government provides each school with an amount of money to be utilised for teacher and student learning. Unfortunately, government funds alone are insufficient to pay for a vast range of teaching and learning resources that are required to keep our classrooms full of up-to-date and stimulating materials and resources.

School Council has spent significant amounts of money over recent years upgrading resources and facilities around the school. In 2021 we will continue our commitment to ensuring the students at Gladstone Park PS are provided with ‘state of the art’ equipment and quality facilities. As a school community, we all recognise the ongoing expense that is involved.

Essential Student Learning Items Prep – Year 6

Section A: Materials that the student takes permanent possession of, including text books and student stationery eg: paper, pens, glue sticks, project books etc. (List Attached) Each child will have an individual pack of requisites that have been specifically selected to support the learning needs of children at particular levels of the school.

$55.00

Section B: Materials for learning and teaching where the student consumes or takes possession of the finished articles (e.g. art) This may include a range of paint and craft materials, art and design technology etc.

$85.00

Section C: Digital Learning Students’ use of our school wide computer network system, access of our Library Resource Centre system, and additional online learning activities eg. “Mathletics”, “Spellodrome”, “Ziptales” and “Sunshine Online” – online Mathematics and English programs.

$45.00

Total 2021 Essential Student Learning Supplies

$185.00

Essential Student Learning Supplies are those items or services that are essential to support the course of instruction in the standard curriculum program that parents and guardians are responsible for and may choose to either provide or pay the school to provide.
