On 15 February 2008 applications are due for the Margo Tytus Summer Residency Program in the fields of archaeology, history, or philology at the University of Cincinnati, Classics Department, tenable for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three during the summer (15 June - 15 September 2008). Summer Residents must have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of application; they will reside in Cincinnati, pursuing their own research with free university housing and office space, and with the use of the University of Cincinnati and Hebrew Union College Libraries. The editors of Nestor are saddened to report the death of Henri Van Effenterre. Professor Van Effenterre published extensively on Cretan archaeology and history with primary publications of excavations at Mallia.

The editors of Nestor are saddened to report the death of Paul Faure, professor of Greek language and civilization at the University Blaise Pascal at Clermont-Ferrand. Professor Faure’s publications have focused on Minoan sacred caves and the Cretan languages.
