Voted to approve the acceptance of the following bids on the Field House on recommendation of the State Architect and the University Advisory Architect :

Voted to recommend an allotment from Reserve of $20,000 for remodeling the Mechanical Engineering building in accordance with the plans submitted with the understanding that the new space provided by the remodeling will approximately equal the old space which must be abandoned by reason of the erection of the Cyrus Northrop Memorial Auditorium.

Voted to receive and file the report of the Committee on Intramural Sports relative to' the enlargement of the play space of the University.

Voted to record as the sentiment of the Committee that it is preferable to name buildings for the purposes that they are supposed to serve rather than after indi- viduals.

Voted to recommend the following distribution of the $32,890.45 appropriated by the legislature for the reim- bursement of the University for patients to the Minnesota General Hospital from April I, 1925, up to and including June 30, 1925, as follows :

RESOLUTION BY BOARD O F REGENTS O F T H E UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA

WHEREAS, the Senate Committee on Intercollegiate Ath- letics of the University of Minnesota, which Committee is organ- ized 2nd chosen accordf~g to rules approved and authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota, has, pursu- ant to authority heretofore duly granted to it by the Board of Regents, determined to issue $450,000 par value of bonds, bearing interest at the rate of 4'/270 per anfium, payable semi-annually, the payment of the principal and interest thereof to be secured by a pledge pnd mortgage and to constitute an absolute first charge on the net proceeds received from athletic events par- ticipated in Lry representatives of the University of Minnesota, all as more fully described in proceedings duly had and adopted by said Committee, the proceeds of said bonds to be used in erecting and equipphg a field housc near the Stadium at the University of Minnesota, and which Committee has entered into a contract for the sale of said bonds with Minneapolis Trust Company, The Minnesota Loan and Trust Compahy, Wells Dickey Company and Metchants Trurrt Ccnnpany, at the price of 95% of the par value thereof and accrued interest, and all action of said Com- &tee ifr reference to such project is sabject to the approval of the Board of Regents as set forth in resolution adopted by the Boatd of Regents a t its mektidg on October 4, 1926.

Report was made of the granting by the Federal Radio Commission of the continuance of the license to broad- cast on University Station WLB to July 31, 1927.

Voted to approve the following scale of pay for fel- lows in the clinical departments of the Medical School: $800 the first year; $goo the second year; and $1,000 the third year.

Voted to approve Miller Hospital and Pokegama Tuberculosis Fellowships at the following rates of pay: For the first year, $800; for the second year, $900; and for the third year, $1,000.

Voted to approve co-operative agreement between the American Petroleum Institute and the University of hlirlnesota for the conduct of research on the subject of "The Effect of Electric Discharge Upon Gaseous Hydro- carbonds," in accordance with memorandum of agreement filed supplement to the minutes, page 507.

Voted to change the name of the School of Dental Nurses to the School of Dental Hygienists with the under- standing that the degree shall be designated, Graduate Dental I-Iygienist.

Voted to authorize a women's gymnasium towel fee of $1.50 per quarter for University High School girls, effective beginning 1927-28.

Voted to approve co-operative agreement between the American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers and the University of Minnesota for research on subjects relating to heating and ventilating, in accordance with the agreement filed supplement to the minutes, page 508.

Voted to authorize trip at University expense to Leeds, North Dakota, for the purpose of reporting on the desirability of purchasing the Lunell Herbarium.

Voted to refer to the President of the University with power the question of a trip to San Francisco by Dorothy Kurtzman to attend the meeting of the National League of Nursing Education.

Voted to retain Daniel Johnson, Laboratory Helper, School of Mines, on the payroll at half salary for a period of six months, beginning May 16, 1927, with the understanding that at the end of six months, a report on Mr. Johnson's condition is to be submitted to the Presi- dent of the University.

The President of the Board made the following addi- tional committee appointments : Agricultural Committee- Regent Lewison; Buildings and Grounds Committee- Regent Lewison; and Consulting Committee-Student Activities and Social Life-Regent Wilson, Bess M.

Representatives of the Shrine appeared before the Board requesting the use of the University Stadium for the proposed 1928 Convention. After discussions it was voted, Regent Partridge not voting, to adhere to the policy of not using the Stadium for purposes not educational in nature.

The President of the Board reported that William Henry Eustis had agreed that $150,0bo of the Eustis gift might be available for a hospital unit for crippled children.

Voted to continue Ella Whitney, Secretary Retired Presidents, $720 per annum, on the payroll at the present rate with the understanding that her services were to be available whenever needed.

Voted to name Regents Snyder, Coffman, and Boeck- mann a con~n~ittee to co-operate in the selection of a Dean of Dentistry.
