Oil is the central component of any lubrication system. If a system fails, contamination is one of the root causes. Inspecting contamination in lubricants is a major aspect towards machine availability and optimum oil cleanliness. Clean oil greatly extends the life of equipment. Most oils are not clean. They don’t look dirty, but they are full of small particles that the eye cannot see, yet they are very damaging to equipment.
