ASL Project (20 marks): A Research based project has to be submitted on any one of the following themes:
Indian Education System Mental Health and Wellness World of Influencers Influence of Media/Social Media on Our life Shift from Cinema /Theatre to OTT Indian Cuisines/Beverages Combatting Climate Change at Grassroot Level Virtual Currency Unconventional Careers Staycation – Way to Recreational Work Culture
Students have to work in groups of five. A detailed questionnaire has to be circulated by each group to at
least 20 people consisting of friends/ neighbours / relatives, etc covering all age groups- teenagers, young
workforce, middle aged and the senior citizens. The responses collected have to be analysed and an essay/
report has to be submitted based on the data so collected. Subsequently, a viva will be conducted on the
same.
Guidelines:
Students have to work in groups of four. The groups will be made by the teachers for their
respective classes.
Proper allocation and distribution of tasks to be done amongst the group members and a page on
acknowledgements should be enclosed in the project file.
A detailed questionnaire has to be circulated by each group to at least 20 people consisting of
friends/ neighbours/ relatives, etc. covering all age groups as specified above.
The responses collected have to be analysed. An Essay/ A report has to be submitted based on the data so collected. The essay/ report (1000words) should be drafted on the following parameters-
a. Introduction b. Findings c. Analysis of the data/answers obtained. d. Inference e. Suggestions/ Recommendations/ Predictions
Reflections: A brief write up on the entire working experience comprising of challenges faced,
learnings from the project, memorable experiences etc.
A Speaking task based on the findings in the form of a panel discussion, PPT with a voiceover, an
interview or a one-act play needs to be video recorded and the drive link of the same needs to be
submitted as a part of the project, which will be uploaded on Google classrooms. The transcript for
the same first needs to be submitted and discussed with the respective teachers.

Assignment for Practice:
Q1. Amar, Binod and Chaman are in trading business of Jute products. They have been sharing profits equally upto the year ended 31st March,2020. They reconstituted the firm and profit-sharing ratio was changed to 3:2:1. Chaman being working partner demanded that he should be paid annual salary of Rs.75,000. The partners did not agree to salary demanded by Chaman but agreed to give him minimum guaranteed profit of Rs.60,000. Their capitals as on 1st April,2020 were Rs.5,00,000, Rs.4,00,000 and Rs.3,00,000 respectively.
Profits for the year ended on 31st March,2021 was 3,00,000.
Answer the following questions on the basis of the above.
a. What will be the partners’ profit share if Chaman’s share of profit is guaranteed at Rs.60,000?
b. What will be partners’ profit share if deficiency in Chaman’s share is to be borne Amar and Binod in the ratio of 4:1? c. What will be partners’ share of profit, if Chaman’s share of profit it guaranteed by Amar personally?
Q2. From the following information, calculate the value of goodwill of Bharat and Tushar
(a) At three years' purchase of Average Profit.
(b) At two years' purchase of Super Profit.
(c) On the basis of Capitalisation of Super Profit.
(d)On the basis of Capitalisation of Average Profit.
Information:
Average capital employed in the business 5,00,000. Net trading results of the firm for the past years,
2017: 1,50,000, 2018: 1,25,000 (loss), 2019: 4,25,000. Rate of interest expected from capital having
regard to the risk involved 15%.Remuneration to each partner for his service 2,500 per month. Assets
(excluding goodwill) 6,00,000, liabilities 50,000.
Q3. Compute the value of goodwill on the basis of four years' purchase of the average profits based on
the last five years. The profits/losses for the last five years were as follows:
2017 - Rs25,000; 2018 - Rs40,000; 2019 - (Rs15,000) loss; 2020 - Rs80,000; 2021- Rs1,00,000
Q4. A business earned average profits of Rs. 1,00,000 during the last few years. The normal rate of
return in similar type of business is 10%. The assets of the business were Rs. 10,00,000 and external
liabilities was Rs. 1,80,000. Calculate the value of goodwill of the firm by super profit method, if the
goodwill is valued at 2. 5 years’ purchase of super profits.
Q5. X, Y and Z were sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 3:3:2. They decide to share future profits and
losses equally with effect from April 1st 2021. They decide to record the effect of the following, without
affecting their book values:
Profit and Loss Account 66,000
Advertisement Suspense Account 18,000
General Reserve 24,000
Pass the necessary adjustment entry.
Q6. Alok, Yogesh and Sara are partners in a firm sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 5:3:2. They decide
to share future profits and losses equally. Their Balance Sheet showed a debit balance of 4,000 in
Profit and Loss Account and a balance of 24,000 in General Reserve. For this purpose, it was agreed
that:
The goodwill of the firm be valued at Rs. 52600
The land (having book value of Rs.50,000) be valued at Rs. 70,000.
The stock (having book value of Rs. 50,000) be depreciated by 6%.
Creditors amounting to Rs.400 were not likely to be claimed.
Partners do not desire to record the revised values of assets and liabilities in the books.
They also desire to leave the reserve and profits/ losses undistributed.
Give effect to the change in profit sharing ratio by passing a single journal entry.
Q7. Read the following case and answer the given questions:
Amit and Mahesh were partners in a fast-food corner sharing profits and losses in ratio 3:2. They sold
fast food items across the country and did home delivery too. Their initial fixed capital contribution
was ₹1,20,000 and ₹80,000 respectively.
At the end of first year their profit was ₹ 1,20,000 before allowing the remuneration of ₹.3,000 per
quarter to Amit and ₹.2,000 per half year to Mahesh. Such a promising performance for first year was
encouraging, therefore, they decided to expand the area of operations.
For this purpose, they needed a delivery van, a few Scooties and an additional person to support. Six
months into the accounting year they decided to admit Sundaram as a new partner and offered him
20% as a share of profits along with monthly remuneration of ₹ 2,500. Sundaram was asked to
introduce ₹1,30,000 for capital and ₹.70,000 for premium for goodwill. Besides this Sundaram was
required to provide Rs.1,00,000 as loan for two years.
Sundaram readily accepted the offer. The terms of the offer were duly executed and he was
admitted as a partner.

Case Profile
As per Class XII, CBSE curriculum guidelines, students to prepare an Individual Case Profile in Psychology
with the use of Qualitative techniques like observation, interview, survey etc. During the course of
preparing the case profile, the student has to gain a first hand experience in use of these techniques.
The students can prepare a case profile of an individual who has excelled in areas like music, dance,
sports, academics etc or having special needs like learning disability, autism, down syndrome etc or
those which interpersonal social problems i.e poor body image, temper issues, anxiety issues, substance
abuse problems etc.
