A Report on the Summer

Youth Recreation Programby Jane Ann McCubbins

The Summer Youth and Recreation Pro

gram began June 8 - July 24 and lastedfrom 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The main goalof the program was to provide a place forthe children in the community to come andparticipate in crafts, recreation, and otherevents such as trips to local places of interest and the staff were to provideguidance showing that they cared for eachchild.

There were over 100 children signed forthe Program with a staff of eight peopleemployed by CETA summer youth program.

Sack lunches were provided by theSouthern Ky. Community Action Agency,"Summer Feeding Program" from Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The summer youth and recreationprogram was successful.

Each of us tried to show as much love aswe could and we tried to show them how toget along with their brother and worktogether.

Some of the children came from brokenhomes and was in need of someone whocared deeply for them. The ages rangedfrom 4 to 18.

I really enjoyed working with these kidsand my staff for they never gave me a dullmoment. God has revealed to me there is agreat work in this field. I feel the need isthere. I am asking you to pray for me that Iwill strive to obtain God's will in my life.
