Frankfurter musikpreis 2016Der Frankfurter Musikpreis 2016 ging an den Jazz-, Pop und Rhythm-and Blues-Musiker

aL JaRReaU. Der Frankfurter Musikpreis würdigt das Lebenswerk des Künstlers als stil-bildender Vokalist. In seiner Begründung hebt das Kuratorium besonders Al Jarreaus herausragende interpretatorische und improvisatorische Fähigkeiten hervor, mit der er die Gesangsstimme auf eine bis dahin nicht bekannte solistische Höhe geführt hat.Heute um 20 Uhr wird der Ausnahmekünstler im Rahmen des Musikmesse Festivals gemeinsam mit der hr-Bigband im Saal Harmonie des Congress Center Messe Frank-furt ein ganz besonderes Konzert geben.

Peace developed the Monte-rey Jazz Series, a four-piece drum kit that includes retrofly 973 hardware, an 18"x 14" bass drum, 12"x 8" tom & 14"x 14" tom and a matching 14"x 5.5" snare. The kit comes in three different configurations. Also new from Peace is the SD-535 Obsidian metal snare drum measuring is 14"x 6.5" with a Remo head and black nickel finish.

The Firehawk 1500 from liNe6 is a guitar amp for just about any purpose. Acoustic and electric guitar sounds are played in three-channel stereo – as befitting a dry mono gui-tar with additional stereo effects. The centre channel functions with biamping, in other words separate amps in class D and class AB for woofer and tweeter, and the stereo chan-nels operate with smaller drivers and tweet-ers. The amp can be controlled remotely via a smartphone or tablet app. The variety of sounds the amp can produce is truly impres-sive. The Firehawk 1500 offers the most amps, effects and speaker simulations in the Line 6 family – some in special HD quality. There are 200 amp models and ef-fects, including 50 HD models and classics from the POD and XT series. The 128 mem-ory locations contain presents of famous artists. The spec meets all the requirements of a real live amp in terms of connectivity and SPL.

sich an drei Mikrofone, die er im Meistersaal der Berliner Hansa-Studios aufstellte. Tverb er-rechnet aus einem Mikrofonsignal die Signale der beiden anderen Mikrofone und versieht sie mit einem eigenen Hall sowie eigenen Gates. Weitere Möglichkeiten ergeben sich durch die automatisierbare Position der virtuellen Mikro-fone.

heroes as a plug-inOne of the most famous sounds in rock histo-ry, the vocal sound of Bowie's Berlin album “Heroes”, is now available as a plug-in. EVENtIDE has created tverb together with Bowie's producer Tony Visconti. He recalled setting up three microphones in the Meister-saal at Berlin's Hansa studios. Tverb takes a single microphone signal and uses it to com-pute the signals for the other two micro-phones, adding separate reverb and gates to them. The virtual microphones can be positioned anywhere, adding further sonic options.

The tone section provides a choice of three different synthesis models with different characteristics. The Nord Drum 3 is the pure sound module and features six inputs for trigger microphones or pads and MIDI connections. The Nord Drum 3P version is equipped with velocity-sensitive multipads, a kick pad input and MIDI.
