The Snowman

Once again that madcap crew, The Great Northern Effigy Builders, will caravan in from the Great White (for once) North transporting their jaw-dropping brand of fine artistry and their mesmerizing control of the plasmatic essences to an exciting, frozen mountain-top near you! This year’s exciting master-piece will be different than any before, a majestically boring structure of simple spheres will loom at least 1-2-feet over your amazed and incredulous crania. What wonders! What sights! Experiences that you will always keep secret from your loved ones and heirs forever. Prepare to be there!

The Traveler by Daniel Kanner

All hail The Traveler! Simply stated, we have all lost a lot over the last two years. The Traveler, styled after a Viking funeral ship, was built to honor our losses and to give those still here a chance to mourn, express themselves, and heal. Climb aboard to create your own memorial shield art (shields and supplies provided) or to take a moment to reflect. Join us in sending off those we have lost and that which we grieve when we burn the ship on Sunday evening and send The Traveler off.

Dunan Snowman

The Abominable Snowman

by Mssusss

by Saint

This furry beast, long misunderstood and veiled in mystery, will watch over our tundra as we prepare for burn night. As the flames take him, with the ashes rising into the dark sky, his true nature will be revealed as the malevolence of his in-ner being is released. You might want to bring marshmallows

The Dunan Snowman (Small Snowman Fort) is intended to pro-vide a sacred space to commemorate and honor our deceased friends, family and ancestors. The dunan will offer an enclosed, low structure to take shelter in from the wind and cold. Mod-eled after neolithic cairns, the arched entrance is aligned with the rising sun, to offer first light in a darker time.

Poetry Reading

Right before temple burns @Temple

A complete reading of the epic poem THE by the late ac-claimed author Lance Preston Karstetter will take place prior to the Temple Burn. Written more than 20 years ago it is a criti-cal take on the world that was then and as it is now.

Events

Sunday

Members of the temple crew will have white cardboard ver-sions of The Traveler's shields and art supplies available for you to create your own memorials. If you leave your finished shield with us we will add it to the chest on the ship before it sets sail as ash on the wind. You are welcome to take a shield with you to work on privately or you can bring a seat and spend time under White Dragon Noodle Bar's carporch working in the company of others. If you choose to take a shield, please bring your finished piece to The Traveler and add it to the others by Sunday evening.

Theme Camps

The Burlington GOAT Factory: Dive Bar dedicated to the Greatest(s) of All Time. Expect wobbly infrastructure, a shrine to the greats, a whole lot of Smash Mouth, and proba-bly some Andrew Lloyd Webber. Will the heating be ade-quate? Probably not.* Will the bartenders be surly? Maybe. Will the cups be clean? That's your problem, not ours. Check our puppet theater board for more offerings! *Unless you’re snuggling in our cuddle puddle in the yurt. (Open most of the time - we’ll have a sign out front.)

Loud Erudite Goblins on Fire: Loud, laud, adjective:

(1) marked by intensity or volume of sound (2) clamorous, noisy (3) obtrusive or offensive in appearance or smell Erudite, er·u·dite, adjective: (1) having or showing knowledge that is gained by studying (2) profound, recondite Goblin, gob·lin, noun: (1) an ugly or grotesque sprite that is usually mischie-vous and sometimes evil and malicious (2) fantastical creatures at war with merriam webster over the above definition Fire, fī(-)r, attributive noun: (1) the phenomenon of combustion man-ifested in light, flame, and heat (2) one of the four elements of the alchemists (3) burning passion (4) liveliness of imagination

OOOOPS ALL MISFITS: We're not, not a shitshow.

Habitat For Insanity: Yes.

Theme Camps

Rabbit Hole: Visit the yurt lounge for a chill time. We've got a cozy hearth, warm drinks, fun fidgets, and convivial conver-sation.

White Dragon Noodle Bar: White Dragon Noodle Bar re-turns to the tundra for another year of frozen mud and high winds (and noodles)! We have remodeled your favorite noodle bar and are pleased to present our new patio and carporch space, featuring Frost-burn classic heating elements, scenic views, and BYO-chair seating. This outdoor-outdoor concept brings the elements of the tundra directly to you (remember the high winds we men-tioned) while you enjoy the soothing sounds of snarky Noodle Barbarians and your fellow patrons. For the full experience, enjoy your vegan ramen noodles on our patio or under the car-porch, and toss your WDNB provided disposable paper cups and chopsticks into our cozy burn barrels when you are done. Real Talk: We are serving noodles Thursday - Sunday at sun-down-ish, but you can't come inside this year. Dress warm, stay hydrated, eat noodles!

Phart Camp: Philadelphia Art Camp: Frostburn's official liv-ing room, the warmest, driest, coziest Geohome since 2016. This year we'll be hosting a slew of events centered around what we know best: the musical arts. We're your host for this year's Mx. Frostburn pageant, so we'll also be practicing the art of (consensual) judgement.

ILLUMINATION: Lighting up the night. Music and Video play-ing throughout the night.

One reading of the intent of the second amendment is that the government and the people should be equally armed. Private ownership of nuclear weapons is clearly a terrible idea, which means that the second amendment should be changed. Let’s explore what a modern second amendment might look like.

Second Amendment 2.0 with Teppy

Noon @Habitat for insanity

A long tradition at Frostburn, sometimes with only a single par-ticipant, but this year should be awesome! Clothing optional and pictures only with permission. Just because this is listed in the What Where When does not imply that it's a good idea! Use radical self reliance when planning for how to warm up afterwards. We often stop at hot spots, like the steam palace or rocking music camps, to melt the ice from our bodies after-wards.

Are you a fresh new face, or a well seasoned Frostburner? Ei-ther way, the Goblins would like to serve you at Midnight Meat. Uh... We mean, we want you to come and eat our meat. Er.. We're not looking to eat your meat (at least not till after the first date- consent and all). What? Right. Goblin Camp. Mid-night. We'll have meaty meat and vegan meat (the Veggies Kids Hate); come have some hot meat with us in the middle of the cold night.

Priority 5: Priority 5! Your home for everything at Frost-burn. The Music, bar, and cuddle tents will all be back again this year :)

Navios Fantasma: An exhibition of horse and chariot races, equestrian shows, staged battles, gladiatorial combat, and displays of trained animals is a small list of what you will not encounter at Navios Fantasma. What you will find hosts the tundras Worst Bar (it really is), offering a stroll down Mad Dog Memory Ln. Grab a drink and toast your buns at our fire or warming stations. Speaking of buns, we welcome every-one to join in our celebration of The Great Polseibrod, lord of all cased meats!

Wizard Nest: Stop by our glowing courtyard for drinks, warmth, groovy tunes, and pretty lights!

Fromagé Á Trois: We know you want our piping hot cheesy puns and almost gourmet grilled cheese sammiches. It's why we here at Fromagè Á Trois want you to enjoy the spoopy, reminisce in the ambience but seriously, if you want grilled cheese you gotta find our pop-up service. We've decided on a set schedule according to when we have the whim and de-sire to do a thing.

Catastroph-ish: If Baba Yaga was a carney, she’d camp here. Instructors of pretty good and very bad yoga. We’ll have a mid-day boozy hot chocolate bar until supplies run out. Also serving tea & reading tarot at our kotatsu table.

Charlie’s Constant Cooker @ Loud Erudite Goblins on Fire

We will have a towering grill, Made by Charlie L.

If in it you'd like to heat, the stuff you like to eat,

It's "Goblins!" you have to yell.

In short- if you've got something that you need heated or cooked, the Goblins will be happy to make sure that it gets done, whether for your personal consumption or as an offer-ing to serve to the community.

"Backwards up the mossy glen Turn’d and troop’d the goblin men,

With their shrill repeated cry, 'Come buy, come buy.'"

-- from Goblin Market, by C. Rossetti 1862

Most of the Market Goblins still slumber on, but the Kitchen Goblins don't want you to walk away empty handed, so along with food offerings throughout the days, whenever they hap-pen to be hot and ready, we'll be sure to have a small selection of trinkets and shiny things that you can take for a trade in kind, whether it be a reflection on a memory, a song, or some other bit of meaning or magic that you have to offer.

Do YOU have what it takes to win the title of Mx. Frostburn 2022? Phart Camp is your fresh, hot, new, host this year... so prepare to be challenged! Your previous years' antics and lami-nated meat charms won't win you bonus points, but bribery and a clever/authentic talent just might. We look forward to judging you!

Look at all those peo-ple thinking they look cool playing Beat Saber in their comfy content provider studio setups. None of them are freezing their ass off playing Beat Saber on a cold mountain top at night outside in February in their underwear. But we're all griz-zly Frostburners, always up for a challenge, right? Stop by, strip down to your underwear, and slice-n-dice your way through a round of Beat Saber.
