Welding careers are hot! This course introduces Oxy / Acetylene and the safety equipment used in the process of Gas Metal Arc welding. The Flux Core process is introduced in this course, designed to refine MIG welding skills. Florence / 2109 / $2350

TIG welders weld primarily aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel, and can find employment in industries where clean environments are critical, such as medical equipment and food manufacturers. Florence / 2109 / $2350

The National Association of Manufacturers predicts that the U.S. will need an additional 14 million welders by 2020. This course will prepare you with basic fundamental knowledge of ARC, or Stick welding, which is primarily used in construction and maintenance. Florence / 2109 / $2350

CONSTRUCTION PRE-PIPE

This course will prepare you to enter the welding field as a MIG welder. In addition to learning how to MIG weld, you will also gain proficiency in blueprint reading, measuring, and the proper and safe use of oxy-acetylene cutting equipment. Florence / Room TBA / $2500

The Construction Pre-Pipe Welding course provides instruction in Oxy-Acetylene Cutting, Basic and Advanced ARC Welding, and Basic and Advanced TIG Welding, allowing the student to complete training in a shorter amount of time, than if individual classes were taken in these three areas. WELDING

The Construction Pre-Pipewelding program teaches students both stick and TIG welding, and no prior welding experience is needed to enter the program.

The entire Construction Pre-Pipewelding and Pipewelding courses can be completed in approximately six to seven months, a much faster rate to good employment than the typical degree-seeking route.

Pipewelders in the nuclear industry have particularly bright prospects for wages, earning anywhere from $25 to $40 per hour, in addition to a daily $100 to $120 per diem payment, which is tax free, provided the individual does not work greater than 364 days per year.
