Dear Members,
The second issue of the revived AIMS Newsletter being circulated as an
eNewsletter has been successfully brought out in the month of March, 2016. It
covers the period from December to February 2016. I am happy to announce the
release of Vol. 1, No. 3 now which covers the quarter March to May 2016.
I would like to request more and more members to contribute to the eNewsletter. I
am thankful to all the contributors.

ICFAI University, Jharkhand received the “ ” fromBest Private University in Eastern Region AwardASSOCHAM on 29th April, 2016; and the Award was given by Dr Dinesh Oraon, Speaker of LegislativeAssembly of Jharkhand Government. Dr O R S Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University was invited to speakas key note speaker on Quality Education in Jharkhand.
ICFAI University also received an award of recognition from Red Cross Society of India on 18th April,2016, for the selfless service done to humanity for 2015-16, by way of blood donation by our students andemployees.

Gurunanak Institute of Management Studies
A one-day Knowledge Symposium named wasPARIVARTAN II – “Decoding Leadership in a VUCA World”organized by the Career Development Cell, GNIMS on 4 March 2016 featuring 3 Speakers viz., CHRO & Headsth
from various domains. This was a step forward by the institute in bridging the gap between the Industry andAcademia.
The Symposium saw a host of esteemed speakers for the Individual Speaker Sessions by eminent industry leaders.
The 1 speaker, Mr Subramanian Suryanarayanan, Chief Human Resource Officer, Tata AIG General Insurancest
Company Limited, whose address was primarily based on the traits of great leadership and their perseverance tocomplete the task in pursuit of excellence.
Valuable contribution and invigorating conversations ensued from the speaker sessions of: Ms Mousumi Roy, Vice
President & Head, Talent, Learning & Organizational Development, Bharati AXA Life Insurance Company Ltd.,
who shared her success and experience story with the students and Mr Suresh A Shan, Head Business Information
Technology Solutions, Mahindra & Mahindra, who made a presentation on the topic and made the session
extremely interactive.
The speakers were not only gifted raconteurs but also had the expertise of connecting very well with the GNIMS
students.
The speakers insights into the VUCA World and little take-away for students in the form of building on theirstrengths and skill sets resonated very well in the audience.

The conference was inaugurated by a video message fromWorld Renowned thought leader and great Marketing GuruProf Jagdish N Sheth, Charles H Kellstadt Chair of Marketingat the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.Atlanta, USA and addressed by Mr Prasad Shejale, CEOLogic Serve (India) and Mr Uday Sodhi, EVP and Head ofDigital Business, Sony Entertainment. 40 research paperswere presented and discussed in three tracks at theconference which evoked considerable interest among theacademicians and practitioners attending the conference.
The paper presentation was followed by a panel discussionfor a discussion on the industry perspective. The conferenceconcluded with a valedictory address by Prof DattaNadkarni, CMO/Marketing Strategist and Professor, StrategicMarketing at CSU, Foothill College, Golden Gate University,University of San Francisco and St. Mary's & UC BerkeleyUSA. MLRIT MUN at its outset in 2015 hosted leading delegatesfrom across the country. Here at MLRIT MUN we believe increating intellectually enriched professionals, striving to bringthe spirit of innovation and research via realistic and academicand simulation of diplomacy under the same roof. MLRITthrough its second edition in 2016 has got into the list of beingthe third college in Hyderabad hosting mid night crisis.

All the members of the nations considered the generalprinciples of cooperation in the maintenance of internationalpeace. This year's edition created an unprecedented debatingexperience at the council of GA with the topic “Combatingillicit weapons and drugs in all their forms and manifestations.

It is the Security Council's job to determine the existence ofa threat to peace or an act of aggression. The delegates hadto look at a situation from all perspectives and theydiscussed on the agenda “De-escalation of tensions in theKorean peninsula region”.
JCC
The Joint Crisis Committees were very different from thenormal MUN experience. JCC had two independentlyrunning sub-committees where the delegates had adiplomatic battle on the agenda “Zeus Poseidon”.vs

The icing on the cake was the Socials night. Embraced ina musical environment, the delegates got to interact witheach other in a fun and dance filled night.

other companies. This is world's largest annual
hackathon. It is NASA's open innovation initiative.
Where space app challenges are given to give
solutions. The best ideas are chosen for local and global
nomination for further idea development and
incubation. MLRIT was the venue for hackathon where
technical sessions were conducted to develop ideas for
final submissions. MLRIT was the only venue with IARE
and Methodist College in Hyderabad. The challenge
was conducted in 140 locations all over the world on
the same day.

The Telugu New Year festival was celebrated in MLRIT on7 April 2016 in association with . Lots ofth Sakshi channelevents were conducted for boys and girls. The College wasdecorated with color lamps and rangoli making it moreeye- catching. The traditional attire of the students ismarked by religious fanaticism and social jollity.
Ugadi which is considered to be the most auspicious timeto start new ventures was indeed a cheerful and amemorable celebration to be remembered by the staff andstudents of the College.
International Women's Day
International Women's Day was celebrated with fun andfrolic on March 8 2016 in association with ,th 'SHE TEAM'Telangana Women Protection Cell. The celebration startedwith recognizing the women's suffrage to equal parentingand representation in politics, followed by games andcultural programs.

The chief guest, Sri Marri Mamtha Reddy, treasure of MLRITaddressed the gathering by a warm welcome andappreciated the women staff for their consistent effort inhelping the growth of the institution.
On this occasion the management of the college took a stepforward in ensuring the health and safety to all the womenin the College by promising to conduct workshops andseminars by experts in medicine and police for the welfareof the female staff and students. Telangana traffic policedepartment has played videos regarding the measures takenby Telangana Government for women protection.
Annual Day
The 11 College Annual day coined as 'Trishna' wasth
celebrated with grandeur on 26 April 2016 in the Collegeth
premises. The chief guests are Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman,Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Government ofTelangana and Mr Sunil Kumar, Executive Director, HAL. Theguests of honor are Sri Ch Malla Reddy, Member ofParliament, Malkajgiri Constituency, Dr N Yadaiah, Registrar& Professor in EEE, JNTUH.
The programme commenced with the report read by thePrincipal Dr P Bhaskara Reddy who highlighted theachievements of the school. The guests appreciated themanagement for the glory and laurels brought by the studentsand faculty throughout the year. It was followed by the prizedistribution for the overall toppers and overall champions insports and cultural activities.
This year, the overall championship was backed by thedepartment of ECE. The celebrations concluded with manycultural performances by the students. A fashion show withmanagement, faculty and students added a great glean to theevent.

SAE Aero Design Challenge
Students of MLR Institute of Technology had participated inNational Level Aero Design Challenge organized bySociety of Automotive Engineers (SAE, India), March 2016at Chennai and bagged three prizes.
Students participated in micro (MAV) and regular (UAV)classes and fabricated air, vehicles based on the DesignCriteria stipulated by SAE India. Team MLR Aerogantzdesigned a Biplane with utmost precision and highefficiency and got the First Prize in National level for BestDesign Report among teams from Pan India. Best Designand Best Innovative Design prizes were bagged by TeamMLR Aero Thrusters and Team MLR Missiles respectively.
These air vehicles can be used for agricultural, surveillance,traffic management and entertainment purposes. Studentsthanked Secretary of MLR Group of Institutions Mr MRajashekar Reddy, Principal Dr P. Bhaskar Reddy and HODAero Department for their continuous support.
Students of ECE department have developed solar car.Engine is designed in such way that it will start withBiometric only by which we can prevent thefts, once thebattery is charged it will run for 8 - 10 hours.
Student Development and Enrichment series
In order to guide the students for a clear view of their careerand as a part of Student Development and Enrichment seriesdepartment has conducted one-day program forundergraduate students on “How to choose your rabbit?”. TheSpeaker was Mr Abhiramakrishnan, Director of South StateBusiness School on 12/02/2016. Students are also trained onAptitude techniques which help them to crack their entranceexams.
Apart from studies, students require skills in communication,leadership and event management. To inculcate these skillsthe College is conducting ZAVTRA every year where differentformal and informal events are conducted to different collegestudents. In this aspect, the department conductedmanagement fest on 21 and 22 March, 2016 in which 90students from various colleges like Dhruva College ofManagement, Vignan Jyoti Institute of Management, CMRgroup of Institutions, Mallareddy Group of Institutions, WesleyDegree & PG College, Lord's Institute of Technology andManagement and also from IARE have participated and wonprizes in different events.

13. KLS IMER, in association with Mustard Seed Training,Mumbai, organized a talk on “Three Core Elements forEntrepreneur Success in the context of Make in India”by Mr Anil Thomas, a leading Business Strategy Coachand a successful entrepreneur on Saturday, the 30thApril 2016.
14. ” - annual business planAntarprerana 2016”competition was organized on 4th May, 2016. MrAnand, Lead Bank Manager of Belgaum Districtinaugurated the same.
Around 30 teams presented their B-Plans. Winnerswere given cash prizes along with a provision of seedcapital of Rs.1.00 lakh.
15. Industrial tour to Goa and Kerala for IV semester MBAstudents during 7th – 13th May, 2016.
100 plus students went on tour. They visited Kannan Devantea estate and other industrial establishments in Kerala andGoa.
16. Mr Rushikesh Patil, 1st semester student was selected toperform during the world cultural festival conducted byShri Ravishankar Foundation, New Delhi and was alsoselected for scholarship of Rs.2,500/- pm by NationalCouncil of performing arts.

� The month of March began with a week-longInternational Women's Day Celebrations from 9th to17th of March, 2016. With Women Empowerment asthe theme, essay writing, elocution, poster-makingcompetitions were held. An interactive session by MsRadha Siddanthi, Professional Counsellor on Happyand Enjoyable Life was organized for the students. ProfSmitha Mohan delivered a talk on for theHealthy Lifenon-teaching staff of AIMS IHE. Felicitation of MsRamitha K G, an alumnus of MCA 2012-2015 batchwas felicitated by the Principal Dr Kerron Reddy for hercommendable accomplishments over-coming herphysical limitations.
� The UG Departments celebrated Graduation Day andFarewell for 260 passing- out students. Dr M K Sridhar,Former Chairperson, Canara Bank School ofManagement Studies, BU, was the Chief Guest.
� The PG Departments celebrated Graduation Day andFarewell for 360 passing- out students. Dr KalpanaGopalan, IAS, Ph D, IIM Bangalore, Principal Secretary,DPAR (Training) & Director General, AdministrativeTraining Institute at Government of Karnataka was theChief Guest.
� A Symposium on the Union Budget 2016 wasconducted for the students of Management andCommerce.
