5G is a journey that is only just starting…
Near term Mid to long term
Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB)
Extremely high data rates, low latency, extreme coverage
Ultra-reliable Low Latency Communications (urLLC)
Extremely high reliability and availability, ultra low latency
Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC)
Extremely large volumes, ultra dense coverage, small payloads
Fixed Wireless Access
(FWA)
Consumer Broadband offering

As a result the city metro will
require dense high
bandwidth connectivity to
power next generation
technology and applications.
17
Initial areas of focus
for Colt in enabling
the future for Neutral Host Mobile Access
Leveraging Colts Metro access network &
connected buildings to solve connectivity issues
exacerbated due to LTE/5G spectrum bands
Customer & Network Edge
Applications that will truly leverage 5G’s ultra low
latency and reliability likely to require Edge
Computing capabilities
Dense High Bandwidth Metro
Connectivity
Dense fibre infrastructure coupled with intelligent
flexible connectivity
