Power Supplies
Power supply 0-24 V AC/DCThis power supply features continuous regulation from 0-24 V AC and DC. It can be connected to separate loads to the DC and the AC connections, and the voltages can be set separa-tely. It also permits simultaneous digital readout of both the AC and DC voltages and currents. The power supply has continuous regulation of DC current in the entire current range, and a fixed AC current limiter is provi-ded. It is electronically protected against overloads. LED indicators in both the DC and AC ranges indicate whether or not the current supplied has reached the upper limit, in which case the built-in current regulation will reduce the out-put voltage. The switch mode design enhances the dependability and life-time of the power supply due to lower operating temperatures for all circuit components. The supply also boasts low weight compared with traditional power supply solutions. This is a user-friendly power supply with a large capacity. The simple and logically arranged control panel reduces the pos-sibility of incorrect use. The unit is sturdy and compact. It can operate hour after hour at maximum rated current capacity without overheating
– Powerful, stabilised DC section with adjustable current limiter
- Synthesized AC output, isolated from mains noise and distortion
- Simultaneous readout of voltages and currents for AC and DC

Demonstration Multimeter
Pressure, pH, temperature, frequency, voltage, current, resistance
Maintaining maximum student interest in a demonstration re-quires student involvement. This demonstration multimeter al-lows students – from anywhere in the class room – to see the instrument readings first hand.
1. Extra large digitsThe bright 45 mm high LED digits can easily be seen from the back of the classroom.
2. Extra large unit symbolsA bright 30 mm LED matrix shows the correct unit for the rea-ding (hPa, V, pH, °C, A, Ω and Hz).
3. Auto-rangingThe measuring range is automatically matched to the measured value.
Shown with 4530.10 gas voltameter and cables (not included).
4. One instrument for chemistry and physicsThis versatile instrument measures not only the usual electro-nic quantities like volts, amps and ohms, but also pressure, pH and temperature.
5. Back facing teacher's displayA secondary display is available on the back of the instrument. Its 14 mm high digits are readable even a few metres away.
6. Computer interfaceA serial interface is available for communication with a PC (eventually through a USB-to-serial adapter). The interface is electrically isolated from the rest of the instrument. For control and data acquisition we recommend the free pro-gram DataLyse (download from datalyse.dk).

Watt and energy meterOur Watt and Energy Meter is a most versatile instrument designed for education. The bright display with its 45 mm high digits is easily read even from the back of the classroom. Apart from measuring true RMS voltage (V) and current (A) the meter is capable of measuring apparent power (VA), phase angle (), active power (W), energy consumption (Ws, Wh), fre-quency (Hz), and time elapsed (s, h) for energy consumption. The input terminals on the front panel are used for low voltage measurements. Measurements on mains operated equipment use the standard schuko power connector on the rear panel, making this application convenient and safe. The instrument has automatic range selection and the change between front and rear panel sockets also happens automatically.

Computer interfaceThe instrument is equipped with a serial interface. The instrument may be controlled by e.g. a terminal program, but we recommend the free PC program DataLyse, download- able from datalyse.dk.
DataloggingA built-in data logger is available. Setting up and reading is done through the interface. An automatic start condition can be set by software as a given time or power level – manual operation is also possible.

Current direction indicator, 30 VThis current direction indicator has LEDs mounted with op-posite polarities. If the unit is connected to a direct current source, then one of the LEDs will light up and show the direc-tion of the current. If the unit is connected to an alternating cur-rent source, both LEDs will light up. If the unit is moved back and forth the eye can detect that the LEDs light up alternately as the current switches back and forth. The current indicator is supplied with two 8 mm diameter red LEDs mounted in a cabinet with 4 mm safety connectors. Provided with a 10 mm diameter mounting rod. Size: 120 x 120 x 27 mm.Rod length: 93 mm.

Resistors for measuring temperature coef-ficientsThese immersible resistors are used to determine the resistan-ce temperature coefficient for various materials. They consist of resistance wire (diameter 0.25 mm) wound on Plexiglas cores with safety jack connectors. Van de Graaff generatorGenerates ultra high voltages for electrostatic experiments. Impressive sparks with a length of up to 100 mm can be ob-tained – but the equipment is still safe to use thanks to the very low output current. Electrons are transferred to the dome by a nonconductive belt which passes two rollers made from different plastics. The design is open to inspection – even the dome is easily dismantled – so the principles behind the device can be stu-died. The belt is driven by either a crank or a variable speed motor. ElectrometerThis instrument measures current in the pico-ampere range and charge down to nano-coulombs.As a pico-ampere meter it may for instance be used in photoelectric effect experiments (determi-nation of Planck’s constant). With the matching ionization chamber, it can show the weak currents which passes through air when alpha radiation makes it slightly conductive. As a nano-coulomb meter it is a most versatile tool for a lot of electrostatic experiments. The charge integration occurs within the instrument at close to zero voltage, virtually eliminating leakage currents. With a Faraday ice pail and a metal plated ball on a rod, a very persuasive
demonstration of electric induction is possible. Another application is determining the capacitance of a plate capacitor with or without a dielectric between the plates.

Motor-generator modelA ready-to-use setup for demonstrating the generation of either direct or alternating current. Although the AC voltage from this model is not sinusoidal, is goes very well together with the full wave bridge rectifier with LEDs to demonstrate the changing directions of the current. The DC voltage is naturally pulsating.Connect the model to a power supply to make it run as a DC motor.

Arc discharge rodsThese are used for demonstration of high voltage and the rising of high voltage arc discharges due to heating. For safety reasons the arc discharge rods are built into an in-sulated, protected acrylic plastic tube with safety jack connec-tors. One of the rods can be adjusted horizontally to bring the rods close enough together to start the electrical arc. (Not suitable for students. High voltage transformer needed - not included).Tube: Ø 90 x 600 mm. Bottom plate: 200 x 200 mm.

Hand powered generatorsThe generator is mounted in a transparent plastic housing. Using a crank and a gearbox the generator can yield a power output of up to 7.5 watts. The generator unit is supplied with an E10 socket for small bulbs and leads with mini alligator clips for connection to electrolysis experiments, measuring instru-ments, electrical circuits, etc. The set consists of two hand generator units and a manual.
