This book was initially published in 2018 to celebrate two important events: the ECCE initiative “2018 The European Year of Civil Engineers” and the 200th Anniversary of the Institution of Civil Engineers (U.K.).

“Notes on the history of civil engineering” Budget
• The orders that have been submitted by ECCE members will be invoiced directly
to them by the Printing House. • ECCE will bear the cost of the copies that will remain as its property.
273 pcs x 2,85 EUR = 778,05 EUR plus shipping costs that will be calculated • The books that will remain to ECCE will be stored in the ECCE Secretariat Office in
Athens, Greece.

“Notes on the history of civil engineering” 2nd Volume
• During the 69th ECCE General Meeting that was held in Podgorica, Montenegro,
ECCE President presented his ambition to produce a series of books on the history of civil engineering that will include contributions from the ECCE members and will showcase the national civil engineering history of each country.
• ECCE members have been requested to prepare their contributions for the 2nd volume of the book “Notes on the history of civil engineering”.
• Contributions are collected from Greece, Spain, U.K., Malta, France and Turkey.
• Currently, the materials that have been collected are under elaboration by Mr. Gorazd Humar who acts as editor-in-chief. Once the materials are assessed the preparation of the 2nd volume will start.
• The number of copies to be printed has not been determined yet.
• There is a provision of 5.000 EUR in the ECCE budget for 2021 for the preparation and printing of the 2nd volume of the book.
