ELECTRICAL PROJECTS
NO PROJECT TITLE DESCRIPTION PICTURES 1 Earthquake Detector
(DIPLOMA PROJECT) This is the circuit diagram of seismic / vibration
sensor. The circuit simulates a seismic sensor to
detect vibrations/sounds. It’s really sensitive and may
detect vibrations due to the motion of animals or
human beings. So it could be utilized to monitor
protected locations to restrict entry of undesirable
individuals or animals. The circuit applies readily
available electronic parts and the circuit design is
simple. A common piezo sensor is applied to detect
vibrations/sounds because of pressure variations. The
Piezo element acts as a small capacitor which has a
capacitance of just a few nanofarads.
2 Home Security System
Efficient design of house security system is proposed.
This project aims at development of a simple and
reliable house security system with low-cost, invisible
laser circuit to protect your house from thieves or
trespassers. A laser pointer torch, which is easily
available in the market, can be used to operate this
device. Use of mirrors at various directions for
reflecting laser beam forms a net to protect against
any thieves entering into the house. The laser beam is
directed to finally fall on an LDR. Finally if any one
crosses the laser beam alarm relay is activated and
alarm will ring.
3 Doorbell Control Circuit using 555 Timer
The main feature of this doorbell circuit is used to
control the time duration and ring at the time of
pressing of switch. Also this circuit can control the
oscillation frequency of doorbell sound produce by the
doorbell. For controlling the ring duration of the
system OUTPUT pin (3) of the first 555 timer IC to the
reset pin (4) of the second 555 timer IC. Means as
long as the output pin of first IC will be high, second
555 timer IC will oscillate. Fourth pin the 555 timer IC
is the reset pin, IC would only work if this pin is HIGH
means connected to the positive voltage, if this pin is
connected to the Ground, the IC will not work and
change/ discharging of the capacitor will stops.
4 Low Cost Smoke, Alcohol and LPG Detection Alarm using Single Dual Comparator
Nowadays, security is the major problem in many
fields due to robberies, fire accidents and blasts due
to LPG gas leakage. At present, LPG gas can be used
in the car, in the storage tank or service station and
houses. But, due to some reasons the LPG gas might
leak from the gas cylinders, this may cause the
cylinder blast, damage the place and risk of a life to
the living persons in that place. The fire ignite can be
occurred due to many reasons such as an
electrical short circuit, oil lamps or candles kept inside
the house. Sometimes fire accidents are very small,
but if proper action is not taken to control the fire, then
it can spread in complete house. To overcome this
problem, a gas/smoke sensor is used to detect the
presence of a smoke in various places. This helps to
prevent accident occurred because of fire.
5 Design of Prototype Model for Hydro Power Station
In this modern world, the dependence on electricity is
so much that it has become a part and parcel of our
life. The ever increasing use of electric power for
domestic, commercial and industrial purposes
necessitates to provide bulk electric power
economically. This is achieved with the help of
suitable power producing units, known as Power
plants or Electric power generating stations. A
generating station which utilizes the potential energy
of water at a high level for the generation of electrical
energy is known as a hydro-electric power station.
Hydro-electric power stations are becoming very
popular because the reserves of fuels (i.e., coal and
oil) are depleting day by day. They have the added
importance for flood control, storage of water for
irrigation and water for drinking purposes.
6 Automatic Power Resumption Alarm Circuit
Power restoration is a period of time when the electricity supply to a particular building or area is restored, for example because of replacement or servicing damage to the cables or any other reason. Now a day’s security is the major factor in all industries, particularly where the switching circuits will be more. Most power-resumption alarm devices produce non-stop alarm when power resumes. To overcome this problem, here is an automatic circuit that sounds an alarm for a few seconds only after power resumes
7 High and Low Voltage Cut-Off with delay and Alarm
Voltage variations and power cuts adversely affect
various equipment such as TVs, VCRs, music
systems and refrigerators. This simple circuit will
protect the costly equipment from high as well as low
voltages and the voltage surges (when power
resumes). It also gives an indication when mains
power resumes.
8 Energy Saving of Electrical Appliances
It is very difficult to select and operate a pump which
gives exact discharge which is required for the given
application. Usually the capacity of pump is selected
in such a fashion that the pump gives the discharge
more than required. The operation of this pump under
physical operating conditions will result in overflow
and wastage of material and power. The cost of
electrical power these days is quite high, and in many
industrial applications is one of the most important
deciding criteria for the economic viability of the
industrial setup. The basic aim of the project is to
design and implement a pump controller which runs
for specified time duration, and remains off for
different time duration. This also increases the life of
the pump.
9 Substation Model for 220kV/132kV/33kV/11kV
The model is superseded by the principle of working
of electromagnetic relays for controlling bus bar
voltages. The basic substation model is connected to
two bus bars which are connected in parallel. The
circuit operation is when 220 kV is energized and the
corresponding red lamp is on. By using the selector
switch the power will transferred to TX1 and TX2.
Under any condition of fault the selector switch will be
in off condition and both TX1 and TX2 will not
energized to make it islanding operation. Under
normal operation the 220 kV is energized and the
selector switch is operated to energize the 132 kV and
green lamp is on. By using the selector switch the
power will transferred to TX1 and TX2. Under normal
operation the 132 kV is energized and the selector
switch is operated to energize the 33 kV and green
lamp is on. By using the selector switch the power will
transferred to TX1 and TX2.

1 Online Shopping Store(Diploma)
This project is about making an online shopping
Website called as e-commerce website. This
Website would help the people to find and buy the things
online. Online shopping makes products easy to find,
finding a product online is much easier than looking for it in
the local store. In addition, Products are often cheaper
online than they are in stores and It saves time and
energy, it’s easier to hunt for a great deal, Customers are
usually satisfied, it’s easier to find rare products, and
shopping online allows you privacy.
2 Food Detector (Advanced Diploma)
As people across the globe nowadays are
increasingly health conscious, they would like to
maintain their weight and avoid obesity. Obesity is
the major cause of diabetes. Hence a system that
can identify the type of food that is available every
day in the market can be very useful. Each food
contains a specific resistance value. Using Arduino,
the food resistance value is measured and thereby it
is identified. The identified food types are displayed
in the LCD display. Apart from identifying the food
type, the food detector also finds application in
estimating the purity of food, as any variation in the
designated food will vary its resistance value also.
Hence our proposed model finds a crucial
application in food safety industries.
3 Hand Gesture Controlled Robot using Arduino (Advanced Diploma)
This project aims to control a robot with hand
gestures. That is, the robot can understand the
commands shown by our hand. The robot
recognizes five sets of hand gestures, namely,
Backward, Forward, Left, Right and Stop. The
control is wireless (using FM) and the controller has
to be attached to the hand showing the hand
gestures.
The project is divided into two sections – a
Transmitter and a Receiver. Here we need to
program the transmitter circuit to send hand
gestures as commands. We have used an Arduino
board initially as the programming platform to
recognize the hand gestures with an accelerometer
sensor (attached to the hand). After the program is
successfully made, the same was transferred to an
ATMEGA 328 chip, so that the Arduino board is not
necessary afterwards, and a standalone circuit was
constructed with ATMEGA chip on PCB.
4 Intelligent Traffic Controller using Arduino (Advanced Diploma)
The real time traffic light controller is a complex
piece of equipment which consists of power cabinet,
main controller or processor, relays, control panel
with switches or keys, communication ports etc. In
this project, a simple traffic light system for a 4 way
intersection is implemented using Arduino UNO.
Although it is not the ideal implementation for real
life scenarios, it gives an idea of the process behind
the traffic light control system. The aim of the project
is to implement a simple traffic light controller using
Arduino UNO, where the traffic is controlled in a pre-
defined timing system. The working of the project is
very simple and is explained below.
5 Smart Street Lighting (B.Tech)
Smart Street lighting refers to public street lighting that adapts to movement by pedestrians, cyclists and cars. It is also referred to as adaptive street lighting, dims when no activity is detected, but brightens when movement is detected. This type of lighting is different from traditional, stationary illumination, or dimmable street lighting that dims at pre-determined times. Objective is saving Energy and also utilizing renewable energy sources as a step before hand for the whole world to be in cognizance.
6 Internet Speed-o Meter with Link Failure Alert Circuit (B.Tech)
Wireless Communication Links are always prone to
frequent connection failures. The task of network
administrator becomes more difficult as the failure of
these nodes which are topographically distributed is
not known immediately. Hence a solution to the
problem would be to continuously monitor the
internet traffic at the nodes and notify the network
administrator of any failure immediately. A circuit
called Internet Speed-o-Meter is proposed to
provide a solution for the link failure problem. The
Speed-O-Meter circuit is designed so as to measure
the speed of the Wireless link at the host node
continuously using an Arduino and Wi-Fi module.
7 Android Based Smart Home (B.Tech)
Smart Home is collaboration of technology and
services through a network for better quality living. A
smart home allows the entire home to be automated
and therefore provide ease and convenience to
everyday activities in the home. This technology is
used to make all electronic devices to act ‘smart’. In
the near future almost all the electronic devices will
take advantage of this technology through home
networks and the internet. "Smart Home" is the term
commonly used to define a residence that has
appliances, lighting, heating, air conditioning, TVs,
computers, entertainment audio & video systems,
security, and camera systems that are capable of
communicating with one another and can be
controlled remotely by a time schedule, from any
room in the home, as well as remotely from any
location in the world by phone or internet.

8 Industrial Automation with Visual Studio and Android Interfacing (B.Tech)
The primary goal of a human-machine interface
(HMI) is to assist the operator in running a machine
and managing a process. A good HMI will increase
the productivity of the operator and machine,
increase uptime, and assist in providing consistent
product quality. The required functionality of an HMI
will vary based upon the type and complexity of
product produced, the type of machinery used, the
skills of the operator, and the degree of automation
of the machinery.
The purpose project to achieving automation using
the widely used program Visual studio. The
electrical and home appliances can be controlled
using the visual studio even if you are out of your
house and you forgot to switch off the appliances.
9 Smart Agriculture System (B.Tech)
In agriculture, one of the most important job is to
watering the farming land. Most of farmers use the
manual control over land that is to monitor the
pumping or watering the land by visiting the site.
This will surely need more and more labor and as
result the efficiency of work may be degraded.
This project presents the smart agriculture system.
The main aim of this project is to automate the
agriculture process. The soil moisture will provide
the input to the circuit .The circuit enables the motor
based on the moisture level for a limited time the
motor will run and flow the water. The same will be
informed to the farmer through his GSM.A LCD
display is added to display the water level of the well
and soil moisture. We also plan to add an optional
drone to fertilize the plants.
