Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajyakalpana, Government Ayurved College,

Nagpur organized a National seminar on Standardization of Ayurvedic Drugs- Needs and

Challenges 19 th

and 20 th

March 2017. The seminar was endorsed by Maharashtra University

of Health Sciences; Nashik. 350 delegates were registered for the seminar from all over India.

There were 8 Scientific Sessions with 100 paper presentation by scholars. 16 Ayurved

Eminent Guest speakers have given their guidance on different aspects of Standardization of

Ayurvedic Drugs.

Department organized Pre Conventional Workshop On Preparation Of Traditional And

Modern Ayurvedic Formulations And Preventive Cardiology one day before the seminar. It

was very much helpful for Second professional students to get acquainted with practical

knowledge of Traditional Prestigious Formulations and experience a live Demonstration of

Popular newer Herbal Dosage forms from cosmetics and also a excellent opportunity to Final

year and Internee students to attend a session on Preventive Cardiology by Madhavbaug

(Multidisciplinary cardiac care clinics and hospitals) to explore Carrier Opportunities.

The Academic Activities like Departmental Seminar, CME’S, Guest Lectures by eminent

person, Intercollegiate Workshops on Preparation of different Formulations like

Chyawanparash, Kupipakwa Rasayana, Asavarishtas etc are regularly organized by

department for Academic empowerment of Undergraduate and Post Graduate Students.

Department is also running specialized Skin OPD in the hospital daily. Yearly 2 Skin

disease check up camps are organized. In this camps self prepared medicines in the

department are dispensed free of cost.

Preceding year was celebrated as a Diabetic year (2016-2017) by Kaychikitsa

department. Different camps were arranged at primary health centre in the vicinity of

Nagpur. Teaching and non teaching staff of Secondary schools were also pinpointed

regarding Diabetes. It was revealed that about average of 7 – 10% of newly detected diabetic

patients were there. All these patients were counseled regarding role of sedentary life in

diabetis mellitus . Sincere efforts were made to aware the public residing in rural and urban

eminent person are regularly organized by department for Academic empowerment of

Department of Rognidan and vikruDvidnyan run various acDviDes for undergraduate

students to develop ayurvedic diagnosis and diagnosDc skill development and to get core

knowledge of subject and clear basic fundamental of diagnosis which helps them in future

prospecDves in pracDce as well as research work ,academic work.The acDviDes such as –

Dravyaguna Department performs activities related to identification,

standardization, properties & therapeutic uses of medicinal plants. We have Herbal Garden

having more than 250 species & 1000 medicinal plants. Department possesses well

maintained lab & museum of dry & wet specimens of medicinal plants. Annual field visits are

arranged to get exposure of medicinal plants in their natural habitat to the students.

Plantation of Medicinal plants in Herbal Garden is done annually. Students & departmental

faculty are encouraged to participate actively in various academic activities like conferences,

seminars, workshops, field visits etc.

DEPARTMENT OF KRIYA SHARIR Kriya Sharir department is concern with Dosha Dhatu and Mala as per Ayurveda.

Graduate level students learn Dosha Dhatu Mala which is basic principle of Ayurveda and

also normal physiology of body as per modern science. Students gets practical knowledge of

Ayurvedic Parikshana like Prakriti, Sara, Agni and haematological, urine practical, clinical

examinations of systems. Post graduate students do departmental and research work

regularly under guidance of teachers. They present various research papers at national and

international platforms. Faculties of Kriya Sharir department are regularly engage in various

types of academics and research work. They guide Post graduate students of departments

and arrange departmental seminars for students for discussion of various subject related

topics. Faculties of department participate in various activities at college and university level.
