TEACHING Teaching has been an integral part of my career since residency. I have taught undergraduates, allied health professionals, supervised the training of over 50 registrars and 18 Clinical fellows. I have taught LASIK to ophthalmologists in the United States, Endokeratoplasty in India and Corneal and Cataract surgery to ophthalmologists in Cambodia and Burma in difficult and politically unstable conditions. I was an invited lecturer at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in Vancouver Canada in 2019. I discussed the advent of a Bioengineered Cornea. ARVO is regarded as the premier Ophthalmology Research Meeting and the invitation was a reflection of my international reputation in ophthalmic surgery. In 2009 I was instrumental in developing and am now the Course Coordinator of the Diploma of Refractive Surgery/Master of Medicine (Refractive Surgery). The innovative remote learning design has been successful beyond all expectations.
