Date of Birth: 23-3-1975
Professional experience and research interests:
I am working on production traits in livestock using omics approaches like transcriptomics,
proteomics and epigenetic using state-of-art high throughput next generation sequencing
approaches. I am also working on questions of disease resistance in livestock. I am using
mammalian cell models to understand the regulatory mechanisms for gene expression of both
coding and non-coding RNAs and their signaling pathways. Further, my research group is also
targeting to understand the role of scavenger receptors in infection using gene knockdown
approach. For bioinformatics we are using in-house scripts and pipelines to analyze the data. It
nut-shell my lab is focused for health and production of non-spoken creatures/ livestock for the
benefit of human life using functional genomics. My research is supported by DBT, SERB and
DST, India.
Areas of specialization:
Genomics and Proteomics
