Professional experience and research interests:

I am working on production traits in livestock using omics approaches like transcriptomics,

proteomics and epigenetic using state-of-art high throughput next generation sequencing

approaches. I am also working on questions of disease resistance in livestock. I am using

mammalian cell models to understand the regulatory mechanisms for gene expression of both

coding and non-coding RNAs and their signaling pathways. Further, my research group is also

targeting to understand the role of scavenger receptors in infection using gene knockdown

approach. For bioinformatics we are using in-house scripts and pipelines to analyze the data. It

nut-shell my lab is focused for health and production of non-spoken creatures/ livestock for the

benefit of human life using functional genomics. My research is supported by DBT, SERB and

DST, India.
