GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL EXHIBITORS:

1. All exhibitors agree to accept these regulaDons and any regulaDons pertaining to a department when entering. Please call (928) 899-6056 if you have any quesDons.

2. All exhibits must conform with special regulaDons of the proper department. Agriculture, HorDculture, and Floriculture must be grown by the exhibitor. Any entry (except livestock) that has been previously shown at the Yavapai Fair shall be disqualified. A “professional” is anyone who sells said item from his home or business and makes 50% or more of his income from said acDvity. “Junior” or “Youth” is a person 18 years or younger as of the first day of the fair, unless otherwise specified within the department.

3. Online Entry is available at (www.yavapaifair.com), In AddiDon to Online Entry we can accept entry forms via the mail (Yavapai Fair, P.O. Box 1271, Chino Valley, AZ 86323).

4. Check department regulaDons for deadlines and specific entry forms.

5. Every entry shall be entered in the name of the owner and/or the person who created the item. ALL ENTRANTS MUST BE ARIZONA RESIDENTS. You also must have planted and grown in Yavapai County for Floriculture/Horticulture.

6. All judges will be selected by the Fair and the awards of the judges will be accepted by entrants. JUDGES will make no award where, in their opinion, the exhibit is not worthy, regardless of number of exhibits in the Division or Class. No exhibitor shall interfere in any way, either by making suggestions or arguing with a judge. In any violation of this rule, the exhibitor will be barred from exhibition and will forfeit premiums and entry fees. In the event if a dispute, the decision of the Fair Committee will be final.

7. All exhibitors will be expected to remove their exhibits or make arrangements for removal with the superintendent of the proper department on Sunday, September 12, 2021 AFTER 6:00 P.M.

8. THE FAIR WILL TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION TO GIVE PROPER CARE AND PROTECTION OF EXHIBITS BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY EXHIBIT OR PERSON. Any property left over two (2) days after closing of Fair (September 14, 2021) becomes the property of the Yavapai Fair and may be disposed of.

9. Premiums will be paid by the Yavapai Fair. All checks will be available at the Department by Sunday September 12, 2021 after 6:00pm. Unclaimed monies & Checks not cashed within 90 days of September 13, 2021 will be reinvested into next year’s fair.

In order to maintain the integrity of the exhibit all images may only be collected on Sunday, September 12th between 6:00and 8:00 pm. NO EXHIBIT CAN BE PICKED UP PRIOR TO 6:00PM

Entering Online you will be fast tracked to deliver your exhibit. Entering at time of delivery you will have potential long lines

RULES AND REGULATIONS: We will furnish containers for all cut flowers and herbs. Cut flowers will be watered by the department and removed when they are unsuited to remain. House plants will be watered (unless labeled). ALL FLOWER ENTRIES SHOULD HAVE FOLIAGE.

Use general entry form. You may enter online or bring the completed form with your entry. All entries will be

received on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Entries will be on display and will not be released until Sunday, after 6pm. Neither Superintendents nor the Fair are liable for loss or damage to exhibits left after this time. Any entries left become the property of the Fair and may be discarded. Judging is done by cerDfied Master Gardeners; all decisions are final. Judging is closed to the public. Awards will be given in the following classes: Garden Flowers, Roses, Herbs, Junior, Best of Show. Exhibits must have been grown in Yavapai County by a Yavapai County resident. Each person may make as many entries as desired, but only one entry in each class. Each exhibitor will be entitled to ONE fair entry pass regardless of how many entries the person has.

• Do not use wax. • Canned goods must be clearly labeled and free from stickiness. • Labels: placed on each jar, should show date made and name of

product. Do not include exhibitor name on labels. Items not labeled will not be accepted.

RULES AND REGULATIONS: Exhibits must have been grown in Yavapai County by a Yavapai County resident. Each person may make as many entries as desired, but only one entry in each class: for example, as many onions in the Onion division as desired, but only one each in Class I Pearl, Class 2 Bermuda, Class 3 Red, etc. Each exhibitor will be entitled to ONE fair entry pass regardless of how many entries the person has. There are no entry fees in the Horticulture Department. All entries must be free of disease and insect injury. You may enter online or bring the completed form with your entry. All entries will be received on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Entries in the “ANY OTHER NAMED VARIETY” class must be named in writing on the entry form. Entries will be on display and will not be released until Sunday, September 12th , 2021 after 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Superintendents or the Fair will not be held liable for loss or damage to exhibits left after this time. Any entries left become the property of the Fair and may be discarded Exhibits will be displayed on uniformly sized plates furnished by the Fair. All exhibits will be cared for in an efficient manner but in no case will the Yavapai Fair be responsible for any loss

or damage that may occur. All classes are judged on market standard of size, uniformity and presentation. If there are not enough entries in a class to provide adequate competition, closely related classes may be combined at the discretion of the Judge and Superintendents. It is the sole discretion of the Judge whether the exhibits are awarded first, second, or third ribbons. No exhibitors may be present during judging. JUDGING

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS / CATEGORIES Open to all non-professional photographers to show their work. There is a limit of 10 print entries. There is no time limit as to when the picture was taken. Entries must be the exclusive and sole work of the photographer. Entries may not have been entered previously at the Yavapai Fair or in more than one department. All photographs must be the sole work of the exhibitor (w/ the exception of printing and mounting). Hand colored, toned and digitally printed images will be accepted if they are derived from the Entrant’s original photograph. Digital images that have been post-processed to such a degree that the original image has been modified may be placed in the “Photographic Decorative Art” category (see below) at the discretion of the Superintendent. “Junior” includes all entrants through grade 12. “Amateur” and “Advanced Amateur” designations are self-defined based on length of experience and w/ the help of intake volunteers.

PHOTOGRAPHIC BASED DECORATIVE ART Photographic images may be so alternatively or digitally processed that they may no longer be photographic likenesses of the original subjects. These images may be accepted and exhibited as “Photographic Decorative Art” at the discretion of the Superintendent and will judged separately in the Decorative Art category.

DISPLAY RULES All prints must be mounted on sturdy mat board (not thin poster board), foam core, or printed directly on photo board, canvass or metal. Over matting is optional. While care is taken to protect entries from damage, the Fair and its volunteers cannot be held responsible for damage. Framed images cannot be accepted. Maximum size for individual images, including mat, is 20 inches in any dimension. No images may be overprinted w/ text. Each entry should have the entrant’s name and phone number and the title or description affixed to the back of the mount.

JUDGING / AWARDS Judges reserve the right to transfer entries to a different division or category if they feel the transfer is more appropriate for the image. Checks for money awards will be issued by the Superintendent on Thursday, September 7, 2018 no earlier than 2:00pm.

Instructions: QUALIFICATIONS/CATEGORIES School exhibits are by students in any Yavapai County K-12 school including public, private, charter, and home schools. This is a wonderful public relations opportunity for schools to show the public what your students do. Types of creativity can include but are not limited to paint, pencil, ink, pastel, watercolor, leather, wood, metal, creative writing, poetry, working models, dioramas, photography, etc. Group projects are acceptable. Entries must be completed at school anytime since last year’s fair. Work previously exhibited at the fair is not eligible.

DISPLAY RULES

Each piece of artwork should have a copy of the “School Art / Educational Exhibits Then on the front each item should have an identification card in any color about the size of a business card should be attached to the front bottom corner of each item. The card should identify: Name and Grade of Student their Teacher, and School. It is encouraged for the schools to make their own cards on a computer w/ the name of the school preprinted on the cards, so they are easy to read. Each school is responsible for A BIG SIGN to be posted in their space indicating the name and location of their school. All other art should be entered the Creative Arts/Craftsmanship Department.

All entries must be set up on, September 4th Between 1:00pm and 6:00pm or 5th September 10am-3pm. Each school is responsible for getting their entries to and from the fair and for putting them up and taking them down. Hanging backgrounds are the responsibility of the school. Pre-hanging individual art on lengths of bulletin board paper works very well. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of the exhibits while at the fair. However, the Fair or the Superintendent is not responsible for loss or damage.

JUDGING & PREMIUMS/VOUCHERS This is an unjudged exhibit w/ the purpose being display not competition. Most schools choose several of their best pieces to put into School Fine Arts, Department K, for judged competition and to hang the rest for display. Schools are encouraged to out their exceptionally well-done pieces into competition so those students may receive the awards and recognition they deserve.

RELEASE DATES: All exhibits must be removed by a school official between 6:00 and 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Absolutely no exhibit will be released before this time. Neither the Fair nor the Superintendent is responsible for art left after this time. Entries not claimed may be disposed of. *NO FREE entrance pass will be given to any student , teacher or school administrator for Open Student Department

Fine Art Instructions:

1. Nude, obscene or violent entries will not be accepted. Superintendent and Judges reserve the right to remove entries which are considered obscene or harmful to minors as defined by the Arizona Criminal Code.

2. All work must be original, entered by the artist and created w/in the last 2 years. Art must not have been exhibited in any previous Yavapai Fair Fine Art Exhibit

Entry must be created by exhibitor. Entry should be completed after 2021 Fair. All Entries must have name and contact information on or in Entry. Please Enter into the Proper Division and Class. To avoid Confusion, we may move your item to proper place. Entries must be Presentable and Display Ready (Entries stained or unsanitary will not be accepted Exhibits consisting of one or more pieces must be mounted or securely fastened together. The Yavapai County Fair is not responsible for loss or damage to any exhibit. (Failure to comply w/ these rules may result in disqualification.)

4-H Home Economics EXHIBITORS MUST HAVE BEEN ENROLLED IN 4-H BY JANUARY 1, 2021 TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN The 2020YAVAPAI COUNTY FAIR. 1. These additional rules and regulations apply in addition to the 4-H club work exhibit rules and regulations. 2. The primary audience of the Yavapai County Fair consists of families and youth. The Department Superintendents reserves the right to reject any

work that may be considered inappropriate. 3. Superintendents reserve the right to move any entry to the appropriate department or class for judging. 4. Exhibitors must be enrolled in the specific project for the current 4-H year unless specifically stated. 5. Number of entries per project or class may be limited; refer to specific project guidelines listed in project area. 6. Exhibitor's work is expected to progress appropriately as age and experience in the project increases. All work must be done SOLELY by the exhibitor. 7. Entries that are deemed to be soiled, stained or unsanitary will not be accepted. 8. For questions regarding a specific area, please contact the Superintendents responsible for that area. 9. All entries must include a plain, white 4” x 6” card(s), typed or neatly written in ink, (NO PENCIL). Card must include entry tag number, age, years in

project and information specific to project.

Clothing

ENTRY INFORMATION In addition to the general rules for 4-H, the following special rules shall apply: 1. Lot 5 is limited to seniors only. 2. All entries should be cleaned and pressed. 3. Items must be brought in on clothes hangers. 4. There are no limits to the number of entries in any given class or lot. 5. Each clothing exhibit must have a plain white (line optional) 4" x 6"

typed or handwritten card attached stating entry tag #, age, year in clothing project, fiber content, how to care for the item, and list 3 things learned by making the item. This card must be the work of the member and be completed PRIOR to bringing clothing exhibits to the fairgrounds. If cards are missing or incomplete, entry will be judged, but will not be considered for top award.

B. Any item using construction skills in a new and challenging way (such as matching stripes or plaids, swim wear, lingerie, hard to sew fabrics, etc.) Be sure to explain challenges you faced on the 4" X 6" card, which is attached to the entry.

CLASS 6 - BEST USE OF COTTON To enter: Complete a plain white 4" x 6" card stating entry number and percent (%) of cotton (must be at least 80%). Attach a 3" x 3" swatch of each fabric used to card. This card must be the work of the member and be completed PRIOR to bringing clothing exhibits to the fairgrounds. Cash Awards will be made if merited.

Sew This! Participants must be enrolled in a 4-H Clothing project for the current 4-H year. Interview judging and modeling will be held on the first Thursday of March at the 4-H Office. Participants must call to register one week prior to judging and submit a 4" x 6" note card with a 45 second narration telling about yourself, about your outfit, two things you learned while making the outfit, and other 4-H/school activities you are involved in. This card must be solely the work of the participant. ADDITIONALLY, ALL SEW THIS PROJECTS MUST BE ENTERED AND WILL BE EXHIBITED AT THE FAIR. BRING ENTRIES AND ENTRY TAGS TO THE FAIRGROUNDS ON DAY OF JUDGING.

Foods & Nutrition ENTRY INFORMATION - Participants must be enrolled in a 4-H Foods and Nutrition Project the current 4-H year. 1. A limit of one (1) food item can be entered in each sub-lot. 2. Recipes do not have to be from the project manual. Members may use recipes of their own choosing to comply with members experience. Recipe

cards will not be returned. Recipes MUST include ingredients and directions. 3. No commercial or packaged mixes are allowed except where stated. If so, note on card the item is made from a purchased mix. 4. All foods shall be on or in disposable pan or plate and inside clear plastic bags or covered securely. 5. Exhibits must have (5) uniform servings per disposable plate. 6. Breads, cakes, pies, etc. must be entered whole. DO NOT CUT before bringing. Small loaf pans may be used for bread products. 7. Group cooking entries entered by Individual exhibitor will not be accepted by Superintendent. 8. Educational Poster Exhibits

Open to all 4-H members. 1. Poster must be constructed on poster board or tri-fold board. 2. They may be horizontal or vertical. 3. Poster may be produced by any medium: watercolor, ink, crayon,

acrylic, charcoal, collage, etc. Posters must be flat. 4. DO NOT USE three-dimensional pieces on posters. 5. Posters will be judged on (1) educational idea portrayed, (2) public

appeal, and (3) creative and original ability presented. 6. Posters must include 4-H clover or mention 4-H, copyrighted or trade-

FFA / JTED NON-ANIMAL PROJECT SILENT AUCTION

1. The FFA Non-Animal Project Silent Auction will be held during the Yavapai County Fair on Saturday, 11th, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.

2. Exhibitors MUST declare on ENTRY FORM whether he/she will enter their project in the Silent Auction. 3. Entry forms must be completed properly, or the project will be ineligible for auction and will only be judged and project

displayed for the duration of the fair. 4. Exhibitor is limited to one (1) exhibit sold through the silent auction. 5. All Classes are eligible for the FFA Silent Auction, with the exception of Non-Consumable Exhibits. 6. Students are committed to keep their project up for Silent Auction once it is declared. 7. Only blue and purple awards may be auctioned. 8. The total cost invested will be the opening bid for each project. 9. If an exhibitor chooses NOT to enter his/her project in the Silent Auction, he/she will take it home for personal/private use. 10. There will be no “for sale” signs posted on projects. 11. There will be no private treaty sales of projects while on display at the fair. 12. Exhibitors not complying with these requirements may be barred from participation in future Silent Auctions. 13. Exhibitor Qualifications • Residence of Yavapai County

Exhibitor Divisions • Junior: 8-13 (Age by January 1) – Eligible to Show & Sell

ALL Species • Senior: 14-18 (Age by January 1) – Eligible to Show & Sell

ALL Species Note: It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to know the rules of their respective youth livestock organization. Special Accommodations: Persons with a disability may request reasonable accommodation by contacting the Yavapai County Fair. Requests should be made as early as possible to allow time to arrange for the accommodation. Exhibitor Dress: All exhibitors must present themselves in the official dress of the youth livestock organization they enter with. If the organization does not have an official dress then a long sleeve button down western style shirt, pants or skirt, and closed toe shoes. NOTE: The youth livestock committee may dismiss or restrict an exhibitor from the class or sale for inappropriate attire including, but not limited to, any wording promoting drugs, alcohol, & profanity. Check with your superintendent in advance if you have any questions regarding your attire.

Entry Requirements 1. Entries are to be submitted online with ShoWorks at

www.yavapaifair.com prior to tagging. These are to be used for each department and/or species in which the exhibitor participates. Go to www.yavapaifair.com for specific information. No entries will be accepted without Entry Fees and Supporting Paperwork Submitted ENTIRELY online.

2. Seasonal Passes / Premise I.D.’s - All exhibitors are required to be in full compliance with the Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) regulations regarding Seasonal Passes. https://agriculture.az.gov/seasonal-pass-application - Seasonal Pass Numbers will be required at time of entry and will be verified prior to check-in. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be in compliance with the rules and regulations of the department of agriculture.

3. Photo’s – Photos need to have a visible picture of the animal markings. Photos must be submitted with entry.

General Rules & Information 1. The Yavapai Fair assumes no responsibility for loss or damage.

All animals must be free of infectious diseases and its signs. Show management has the right to ask for any animal showing signs of ill health or behavioral problems to leave the premises.

2. All exhibits not claimed by 7:00pm on Sunday will be disposed of by the Yavapai County Youth Livestock Committee and Yavapai County Fair.

3. Exhibitor will be responsible for feeding and watering his/her animals, cleaning their stalls, and keeping their portion of the aisles clean at all times during the fair for the safely of all exhibitors and general public.

4. Animals should be fit, cared, and handled by the exhibitor. Parents or Leaders can assist, NOT DO! The Fair Committee will ask parents doing too much to stop if they are doing, if they do not stop, the exhibitor can be disqualified.

5. All exhibits are to be owned by the exhibitor or under a lease agreement.

6. Exhibitor must show animal both in conformation and showmanship to be eligible to sell.

7. Exhibitors must provide their own bedding, as well as feed and water containers.

8. Animals will be placed according to the weight of the official scale.

9. All animals will be checked by the official show vet, if there are health concerns it will be address by the show vet and can result in disqualification.

10. The USDA Wholesome Meat Act applies to all animals.

11. Animals do not need to be pure bred to enter the Yavapai County Fair.

12. All fitting of animals can only enhance to natural color and nature of the animal.

13. Drenching is allowed for the hydration and nutrition of the animal. Drenching for medication can only be done with the show veterinarian present.

14. ALL Medication can only be given to the animal under the supervision of the fair veterinarian.

Judging:

1. All Conformation judging of animals will be done in the manner of the Danish Award System. The decision is the decision of the judge and all judge’s decisions are final. If there is a case of fraud or misrepresentation the award will be removed, and the exhibitor will be disqualified.

2. Showmanship is a judging of the exhibitor’s ability to show, fit, and handle the project. Questions can be answered as part of the judging process.

Auction Rules 1. All ribbon awards blue, red, and white will sell in the livestock

auction. 2. No private treaty sales will be allowed on the fair premises, the

fair has a consignment sale process for all exhibitors to sell animals and projects outside the livestock auction.

3. An exhibitor may sell one large livestock, one small stock and/or one indoor exhibit in the live auction.

4. The sale order will be Grand Champions, Reserve Champions, then all blue, red, white ribbons.

5. An exhibitor must notify the sale secretary in writing by 4:00pm Friday Night prior to the Auction if they are pulling from the auction. No Grand or Reserve Champion animal will be allowed to pull from the auction, All Grand & Reserve Champion Animals are required to sell.

6. The Yavapai County Fair, Yavapai Fair Foundation, Inc. does not guarantee the sale of any animal or project. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to promote the auction to prospective buyers.

7. NO costumes or decorations in any way will be allowed in the sale ring.

8. 7% commission will be deducted from the total proceeds, including add-ons, of each item sold in the auction. The auction proceeds are held in a scholarship and sponsorship fund to help grow youth livestock in Yavapai County.

9. The exhibitor that enters the animal must show their own animal in the auction.

10. Auction order will be Indoor followed by (Pig, Lamb, Goat, Beef, Small Stock) this order will rotate each year. (2022 will be Lamb, Goat, Beef, Pig, Catch a Calf)

It takes approximately 8 weeks to raise a Meat Pen. Entries cannot be more than ten weeks old. All three rabbits should look as much alike as possible. General disqualifications apply in this class. Rabbits must have a permanent tattoo mark. Tattoo must be recorded on the entry form. Class Description 1 Breeds maturing - less than 8 lbs.:

three live rabbits per pen - any sex - uniform in size. Top weight for each rabbit is 6 lbs.

The primary objective of the Carcass Contest is to promote production of beef, goats, lambs, swine and which will yield superior carcasses. The Carcass Contest is an educational program which promotes approved practices in selecting, feeding and finishing a market animal on the basis of carcass merit. All carcasses will be judged and placed on current market standards Exhibitors pictures with the animals as well as the carcass will be on display at the fair for all carcass entered and judged. An exhibitor can enter the same animals in Market as well as Carcass. All Carcass Animals are NOT part of Rate of Gain

Timeline: • Carcass Animal Tagged at Market Tag Date ( June 5 th for Sheep, Swine, & Goat, Cattle) • Exhibitor delivers Carcass Animal to Designated processor on August 30st • Carcasses will be evaluated and videoed on Sept 4th • All Exhibitors as well as any spectators can attend the Carcass Banquet on Sept th time and location TBD.

Rules: 1. Exhibitor will accept processing cost by designated processing location selected by the fair board 2. Carcass animals will be received approximately 10 Days prior to the start of fair. 3. Class/Breed Divisions will be developed and may be combined according to entries received. Animals must be in place in pens/stalls starting at 9:00am Thursday the 13th. Weigh in begins on Thursday at 8:00 am. Each exhibitor is entitled to one fair entry pass regardless of how many entries the person has.

INFORMATION QUALIFICATIONS/CATEGORIES Arizona State residents of any age may exhibit. No fighting game birds will be accepted. Cock, hen, and old trio are birds hatched last year. Cockerel, pullet, and young trio are birds hatched this year. A trio consists of one male and two female birds of the same class, variety, and lot, and of the same approximate age in classes A and B only. All birds should be at least 6 months old at the time of the show to be properly judged CAGE & IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION Due to limited cages, the Fair reserves the right to double-coop an owner’s small same variety female birds if necessary. Substitutions are only by permission. Space does not permit a complete listing of poultry breeds; therefore, if you are unsure of your bird’s class, lot, breed, or variety, call the Superintendent for help.

All exhibits must be cooped Wednesday, September 13, 2020 between 1pm and 7:00 p.m. All birds must wear a numbered leg band and the number must appear on the entry form. Leg bands can be purchased at Olsen’s Grain stores.

INFORMATION QUALIFICATIONS/CATEGORIES Yavapai County residents of any age may exhibit

All exhibits must be cooped Wednesday, September 8, 2020 between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. All animals must be checked in prior to being cooped. Rabbits or cavies showing evidence of poor health or condition, parasites, illness or disease, as well as does in advanced stages of pregnancy as determined by the Superintendent or other appointed official, will not be admitted to the show room. All rabbits should be permanently tattooed in the left ear, and all cavies should be tagged in the left ear.

PASS INFORMATION Each exhibitor will be entitled to ONE fair entry pass regardless of how many entries the person has.

JUDGING AND PREMIUMS/VOUCHERS Awards: 1st – Blue Ribbon $3.00 2nd – Red Ribbon $2.00 3rd – White Ribbon $1.00
