ORDER OFPROCEEDINGS

TO OUR GRADUATING STUDENTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS

WELCOME

As the University confers degrees on students who have satisfied the requirements for graduation, we would have loved to host all our graduating students in face-to-face Congregation ceremonies to afford them the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in-person with their colleagues, and in the presence of friends and family.

However, the University, mindful of the need to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and given the large numbers of graduating students, is able to accommodate only graduate students physically during the January 2022 Congregation ceremonies. Rigorous efforts have been made to ensure that the virtual congregation ceremonies for undergraduate students encapsulate all the activities that usually take place during face-to-face ceremonies, and we trust that our undergraduate students will be able to participate in the virtual ceremonies, with their friends and families.

We salute all our students who have worked so hard through the uncertainties of this pandemic period to complete their studies successfully.

We invite all friends and families of our graduating students from all over the world to join in the virtual sessions, to celebrate the achievements of these students.

As you step out into the next phase of your lives, we encourage you, our graduating students, to always be guided by the motto of this University: Integri Procedamus: Proceed with Integrity. Ensure that every action you undertake is grounded in ethically sound convictions and expressed in service to society.

We wish you every success in your future endeavours, as you step out in confidence to distinguish yourselves as alumni of the Premier University.

Once again, hearty congratulations, and all the best.

Aanyekoo!

JANUARY 2022 CONGREGATION | COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

On behalf of management, faculty and staff of the College of Education, I welcome you all to today’s virtual Congregation Ceremony, a memorable occasion that comes with a strong sense of achievement. This ceremony marks the end of an all-important phase of your lives—the conferment of degrees, which you have worked so hard to merit, and the beginning of yet another phase of your lives. No doubt, you have worked hard throughout the period of your study, and you feel ready to launch out into working life.

As a College, we are committed to the removal of barriers that restrict access to and success in university-level studies, through excellence in teaching, research to and scholarship. This commitment has enabled the majority of students graduating today to combine their studies with work, family and social responsibilities. Although making such a combination may have come with considerable obstacles, you did not relent in your efforts and have been able to make it to the finish line.

I would like to congratulate all graduating students on this momentous occasion. Allow me to place on record, the contributions of faculty, tutors and administrators who have worked tirelessly on the main campus, our Regional Learning Centres, and our innovative e-learning platforms for providing the necessary support for you to successfully complete your studies. I would also like to acknowledge the immeasurable contributions of parents and guardians who made the intellectual journeys of our graduating students possible.

Let me use this opportunity to encourage you all to continue to work diligently and excel wherever you find yourselves. We are always told that the marketplace is full of unemployed graduates, but I believe you can be different. Believe in yourselves, be creative and entrepreneurial, forge partnerships, and aspire to become an employer and not an employee. Some of you should also aim at pursuing graduate studies.

I urge you to be good ambassadors of your alma

In addition, I call on you, in this period of COVID-19, to continue to keep yourselves and others safe by observing the safety protocols.

We wish you all well in your future endeavors and trust that as you move on to the next stage of your lives, you will carry along the values and life lessons you have learned during your stay at the College of Education, University of Ghana.
