WELCOMEWelcome to Desert Stages Theatre, and thank you for joining us at this performance of CLUE ON STAGE!

As producers, we are lucky because we get to see every DST pro-duction several times: usually once at the designer run and at least twice during tech week. If we miss anything the first time, we have multiple opportunities to catch that nuance, that sight gag, or some subtle humor. If you are able to see CLUE: ON STAGE more than once, we guarantee you’ll find yourself chuckling or even guffaw-ing at jokes you might have missed the first time around. Double your pleasure!

Thanks to this funny cast and this fearless crew for bringing a bit of board game (and 80’s movie) nostalgia to our stage! Enjoy the show!

DST still has COVID-19 safety protocols in place to keep you, our actors, and our staff safe. In return, we ask that you kindly wear your mask the entire time you are in the theatre. If you wish to meet with your friends or cast members after the show, please arrange to do so in the food court area of the mall so the lobby doesn't get congested. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Thank you again for your support of live theatre and for your attendance at this production. Whether you are seeing your 100th show or your first at DST, you are a valued member of the Desert Stages Theatre community, and we appreciate you more than youcould ever know!

DIRECTOR'S LETTERWelcome back to the theater and Boddy Manor!! It's been a long wait but so happy you are here to support live theater!

Fun Facts:• The game board, Cluedo, was created in 1943 by Anthony E.

Pratt, an English musician and factory worker, based on popular detective fiction, most notably Agatha Christie.

• It was then patented in 1947 and licensed to Parker Brothers in the United States, where it was renamed Clue.

• Clue was made into a movie and released in 1985• In 1993, the screenplay was adapted into Clue, The Musical that

ran off-broadway• And in 2018, the movie's production team wrote the play version,

Clue On Stage

I'm sure we all have fond memories of our childhood playing this board game or seeing the movie in 1985! I remember seeing this movie back then and thinking it would make a great stage play. And 75 years after the game was created, the stage play was born.

What a challenge to stage this play, given the many rooms and doors of Boddy Manor, but we invite you to use your imagination as you did with the gameboard and play along as audience members!

With the music underscore, this play read to me as a radio play so hence the live sound effects by a foley technician versus sound bites, which I feel adds to the ambiance that the script intended.

I hope this show brings back fond memories of playing the game board, seeing the movie, musical or another performance of Clue! Please enjoy this very talented cast as they portray these characters that we are all so fond of.

Thank you Emmi, Christina, Cat, Josh, Jennifer, Ali, Brad, Carson, Nathan, Mallory, Carlos and Dierk for making the past 7 weeks such a wonderful journey through laughter, collaboration and friendship! We share this special moment of our journey back to the theater with all of you!

Enjoy the Show!Mark-Alan C. ClementeDirector, Clue On Stage
