CHRISTIAN DENTAL COLLEGE, LUDHIANA
The Christian Medical College, Ludhiana Society (Regd.) is an Educational and
Research Institution established, maintained and administered by the minority Christian
community as an institution of an all India character with health professionals committed to
the highest standards, in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, for the healing ministry in India.
The Christian Dental College, Ludhiana is an educational institution of an all India
character established and run by the minority Christian community. Primarily concerned with
Christian students who have a mandate to go and serve the people especially in the
unreached areas, training is also offered to students from all religions and regions.
The Dental Department has been providing dental health care services in the Hospital and the
community at large since 1966.
In 1968 a missionary - Dr J.J Fason, Dental Surgeon came from USA to join the
faculty of Christian Medical College with a vision to start a modern dental clinic in this part of
North India took the dental department to new heights. In January 1972 he left India after
giving the responsibility of the Dental Department to Dr. J.L. Joshi who joined Christian
Medical College in January 1971.
The Christian Dental College, Ludhiana was established in 1992 with the pioneer
batch admitted to the BDS course. The College is affiliated to Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences, Faridkot. The MDS course was started in 2002-2003 in the subject
Pedodontia & Preventive Dentistry and subsequently, in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery &
Prosthodontia in 2014.
Each year 9 students are admitted to the Postgraduate course of the college.
All admissions are made on merit.

Vacancies arising in any category will be filled from the other categories. Vacancy in NRI
Category will be filled first from the Christian Minority Category and then from the Open
Category
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT ALL ADMISSIONS SHALL BE BASED ON THE ELIGIBILITY AS PER THE NATIONAL
ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (NEET-MDS-2018).
Service Obligation
The primary aim of the Christian Dental College, Ludhiana is to make a significant
contribution to the health standards of all communities of our nation with a special emphasis
on health care in the rural underserved and unreached areas/communities in India. This
mandate is fulfilled by graduates who fulfill their sponsorship obligation by serving in such
areas, understanding the needs of the society. A sponsored applicant, who has completed
service agreement with regard to his/her BDS sponsorship obligation, should submit a
certificate to this effect from the sponsoring body/church or the authority concerned.
Certificate should state the period and place(s) of service. Applicant should have completed
service obligation by 31st March 2018. Non fulfillment of service obligation violates the spirit
of sponsorship.
*Candidates who have not completed their service obligation for any reason will not
be eligible to apply for post graduation in CDC Ludhiana.
*Candidates who have not completed satisfactory service obligation, as per rules, by 31st
March 2018 will not be eligible for admission.
1. Category A: Open General category:
All such candidates are to apply to Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences Faridkot and submit a copy of the application to CMC Ludhiana.
2. Category B: Christian Minority Category:
All such candidates are to apply to Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences Faridkot and send a copy of the application to CMC Ludhiana.

In addition, they are required to apply to CMC Ludhiana as per details
given below. This category is for the Christian Minority. Candidates, in this
category, are required to submit photocopies of church membership certificate,
baptism certificate, confirmation certificate (if applicable) along with the printed
application form to be considered in this category, by the due date 15th March 2018.
3. Category C: NRI Category:
NON-RESIDENT INDIAN (NRI)
An Indian Citizen who stays abroad for employment/carrying on business, to pursue a vocation
outside India or under circumstances indicating an intention for an uncertain duration of stay abroad
is a non-resident. (Persons posted in U.N. organizations and officials deputed abroad by
Central/State Governments and Public Sector undertakings on temporary assignments are also
treated as non-residents). Non-resident foreign citizens of Indian Origin are treated on par with non-
resident Indian citizens (NRIs) for the purpose of certain facilities.
- PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN (PIO)
For the purposes of availing of the facilities of opening and maintenance of bank
accounts and investments in shares/securities in India, Person of Indian Origin
means a citizen of any country other than Pakistan or Bangladesh if,
1) at any time, held an Indian passport
2) either parent or any of the grandparents was a citizen of India by virtue of the
Constitution of India or Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1995)
3) The person is a spouse of an Indian citizen
4) For investments in immovable properties, Person of Indian Origin means an
individual (not being a citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh or Afghanistan or Bhutan or
Sri Lanka or Nepal or China or Iran)
a) Who at any time, held an Indian passport
b) Who or either of whose father or whose grandfather was a citizen of India by
virtue of the Constitution of India or the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955)
- Proof of NRI (as given below and as may be applicable) must be submitted:
a. Passport with appropriate Visa
b. PIO card
c. Certificate from Employer proving NRI status of Parent
d. Certificate attesting the NRI status from Indian Embassy / Consulate
e. Citizenship of another country with proof of origin in India for parents
All such candidates are to apply to Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences Faridkot and send a copy of the application to CMC
Ludhiana.

ADMISSION PROGRAMME
APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO READ THIS INFORMATION BULLETIN IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND
UNDERSTAND ALL THE REQUIREMENTS WHILE FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM. ANY
DEFICIENCY IN FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM AND INCOMPLETE SUPPORTING
DOCUMENTS WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.
All NEET qualified candidates applying in any category are required to apply to Baba
Farid university of Health Sciences (State Counselling Authority), as per the details
given on their website, by the due date.
In addition, candidates applying in the Christian Minority Category are further advised
to also apply to CMC Ludhiana and submit a copy of their submitted application of
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, to the Registrar, CMC Ludhiana along with
their Church Membership Certificate, Baptism Certificate and Service Obligation
completion certificate/Proof of completion of 2 years Service Commitment – if
applicable.
NRI candidates are advised to submit to CMC Ludhiana a copy of their application to
BFUHS along with proof of NRI and eligibility certificate.
Please monitor the websites of Baba Farid University and CMC Ludhiana regularly for
updates.
1. The Information Bulletin can be accessed only online from www.cmcludhiana.in
and will be available from 1st March 2018 till 15th March 2018.
2. The registration form (only for candidates applying in „Christian Minority
Category only), duly completed, should be submitted along with payment,
latest by 5:00pm, 15th March 2018. The Application form should subsequently
be printed and sent along with other enclosures.
3. Candidates, for Category B, have to submit the fee of Rs.2000/-, for the admission
process (inclusive of Information Bulletin fee and application fee).
4. Print out of Completed Application form along with enclosures are to be sent to „The
Registrar‟, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141008. This should be
received latest by 15th March 2018.
HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION (Only For Candidates in Category B)
1. Log on to www.cmcludhiana.in and navigate to ‘Admissions‟ – ‘Admissions 2018‟ -
and click on the link “MDS 2018” and follow the instructions given.
2. Take a print out of the application form, fill and send the same along with relevant
enclosures to the office of the Registrar, Christian Medical College Ludhiana by 15th March
2018.

3. Send the following documents along with printed application form:
a. Completed Application form.
b. Two passport size photographs stapled to application form with name written on
the back of the Photograph. The photographs should not be trimmed or cut down
from a larger photo to the size of a standard passport photo
c. Copies of the following:
• High School/Higher Secondary certificate as proof of date of birth
• All BDS University Professional examination marks certificates
• BDS Degree Certificate
• Internship Completion Certificate
• Registration Certificate with State Dental Council /Dental Council of India
• Conduct certificate from the Principal of Dental College last attended
• No objection certificate from the appointing authority where presently working (if
applicable)
• Church membership certificate, Baptism certificate
• Service Obligation completion certificate / No Objection Certificate from the
relevant authority, as applicable.
• For NRI applicants only - Proof of NRI and Eligibility Certificate from Baba Farid
University of Health Sciences (if this has been obtained before application; has to
be submitted before the Online Admission Test).
f. Demand draft for application fee - Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only),
favouring ‘Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society’, payable at Ludhiana
Changes to the application form once submitted will not be entertained.
ONLY PHOTOCOPIES ARE TO BE SENT WITH APPLICATION FORMS. ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN ORIGINAL, ARE NEEDED AT THE TIME OF
COUNSELLING.
APPLICATION FEE ONCE PAID IS NOT REFUNDABLE
Declaration Form
Declaration form will be signed by all applicants who have been selected
for the course. This declaration form will be signed at the time of scrutiny of
documents.
All P.G students will abide by the Institutional Service Rules and
Regulations.

MDS ADMISSIONS
ALL ADMISSIONS SHALL BE BASED ON THE MERIT OF THE NATIONAL
ELIGBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (NEET–MDS-2018). APPEARANCE IN NEET–MDS-
2018 ALONE DOES NOT CONFER ANY AUTOMATIC RIGHT TO SECURE ADMISSION.
ONLY CANDIDATES WHO HAVE QUALIFIED IN THE NEET - MDS -2018 AND FULFILL
THE ADMISSION AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF BABA FARID UNIVERSITY OF
HEALTH SCIENCES & CMC LUDHIANA WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION.
A candidate will be required to qualify in NEET-MDS-2018 and should have applied,
and submitted NEET Scores, to BFUHS, Faridkot (For all categories) by the last
date.
RANK LIST:
The merit list will be displayed on the website of Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences. www.bfuhs.ac.in.in. No separate information regarding the result will be
sent to the candidates.
COUNSELLING
Counselling is done in Baba Farid University of Health Sciences as per information on
their website. Schedule of counselling, admission and start of classes shall be in
conformity with the schedule laid down by Dental Council of India/Hon’ble Supreme
Court of India/State Government and will be intimated on the websites –
www.bfuhs.ac.in and www.cmcludiana.in.
For all candidates, the following must be submitted at the time of reporting for
admission:
Original certificates and Testimonials etc. required for scrutiny at the
Office of the Registrar:
• Hall Ticket and Score Card of the NEET-MDS-2018
• Matriculation or equivalent certif icate for proof of date of birth
• BDS marks certif icates – all university professional examinations.
• BDS Degree
• Internship completion certif icate.
• Registration certif icate with State Dental Council.
• Conduct certif icate from the Principal of Dental College last attended.
• No objection certif icate from the appointing authority where presently
working (if applicable).
• Service obligation completion certif icate from the sponsoring body/church
or the authority concerned (if applicable).
• Copy of BFUHS Application form.

• Eligibility certif icate from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences,
Faridkot (applicable to applicants passing qualifying BDS examination
from a University not recognized by BFUHS, Punjab Dental Council and
Dental Council of India)
• Migration certif icate for applicants from any other university other than
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab.
• For Christian Applicants- Church Membership certif icate and Baptism
certif icate,
Applicants will have to bear traveling and other expenses e.g. boarding
and lodging etc, on their own, for this purpose.
Submission of College Fees:
The fees – Tuition, Accommodation and Staff and Students Health Services
Fees for the 2018-2019 session must be submitted following scrutiny of relevant original
certificates and testimonials and allotment of seat, as per schedule given above, for the
particular category opted for. No delay in payment is permitted.
On or after the last date of admission, no candidate will be allowed to take their
original certificates, for any reason, as the same have to be submitted to the Baba
Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot for registration. If for some purpose the
applicant insists on taking the original certificates after the last date, for a period, they
need to pay the remaining year’s tuition fees in advance.
If any candidate fails to complete the training program and/or fails to appear in the final
examination at the end of the stipulated period of the training for the course, he/she will have
to pay college fees as tuition fee for the additional period as may be applicable.
Candidates, who, for any reason are unable to complete their PG study and desire to
discontinue their study, will be liable to pay the fees of the remaining period of the course.
The Security deposit is refundable only on completion of the course and if claimed within one
year of completion of the course.
The management reserves the right to revise the college fees from time to time and these
will be effective from the date as may be decided.
Annual fee for subsequent years must be paid by February 15th.
COLLEGE FEES FOR - ACADEMIC SESSION 2018-19: will be as per
information in the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences prospectus.
CATEGORY TUITION FEE
Open and Christian Minority Category Rs.5,85,000/-
NRI Category* $ 60,000/-
* NRI Category: In addition to the course fee, Registration Fee, 15% of Course fee, as
prescribed by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for NRI Candidates, will apply

to candidates selected under this category and has to be deposited at the time of
counselling.
Accommodation and Fees:
1. Partially furnished, institutional accommodation is provided to P.G. Residents, on request.
However those who elect not to avail of institutional accommodation should inform the Office
of the Registrar on admission so that the fee is not charged.
2. The fee paid will not be refunded even if the candidate does not stay in the room or
occupies it only for a short period.
3. Subsidized food is available in the hospital cafeteria. All residents are advised to avail of
the facility using the cards available through the Dietary department.

Registration:
Following admission, a candidate should register with Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot within the limit permitted by University, through the Principal of this
college.
All Admitted MDS students must have a registration with the Punjab Dental Council.
ALL ADMISSIONS ARE PROVISIONAL, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL &
CONFIRMATION OF BABA FARID UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND DENTAL
COUNCIL OF INDIA.
In compliance to Dental Council of India time schedule for various courses, no
admission will be made to this college after 31st May 2018 for the session starting
May 2018.
Medical Examination:
Following admission, the Staff & Students Health Services of Christian Medical College,
Ludhiana, will examine all the candidates. A candidate will not be allowed to continue his/her
studies in the college if found medically unfit.
Staff & Students Health Services: Total amount Rs.6,000/- per year, which includes
Immunization against Hepatitis-B (All admitted candidates have to get immunized against
Hepatitis - B within the first week of admission). Medical services for subsequent years are
covered under rules of Staff & Students Health Services for which insurance cover is sought
which is included in the SSHS fees.

TRAINING PROGRAMME
Orientation
All MDS students admitted in the institution will undergo an orientation program.
Postgraduate Training:
All MDS students are expected to register themselves with Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences. They must present a thesis research plan within 6 months of registration.
The thesis work must be adequately supervised and a half yearly report submitted to the
principal’s office. The final thesis submission must be completed at least 6 months before
the final examination. The postgraduate training is structured to rotate through all subject
related specialties. The students must maintain a logbook of their training and submit it to
the principal’s office. The academic training should include adequate participation in
seminars, conferences, journal clubs and other academic fora.
All training courses are in service training and all candidates once admitted will have
to abide by the rules of this institution as would be explained to them on admission. Failure
to do so will draw necessary action which may include discontinuation of training for a period
of time as may be deemed fit by the administration.
The appointments are done as follows:
MDS Students are appointed by the Principal, Dental College. They are required to
submit the documents needed, duly signed, before proceeding to the departments.
Leave:
It is expected that all MDS Students take their entitled leaves in that calendar year.
Accumulation of leave will not be permitted.
MDS Students will be entitled to following leaves, per year:
Annual Leave : 14 days
Casual Leave : 10 days
Sick Leave : 10 days
Conference Leave : 14 days during the full course
Maternity leave or any other prolonged absence beyond the entitled leave, during the
training period of the MDS course, will prolong the period of training by a minimum of six
months.
Identity Card:
All MDS Students once appointed must get Identity card made through the office of
the Principal within 10 days of appointment. Identity cards must be displayed at all times
within hospital premises.

THE ASSOCIATION OF DENTAL ALUMNI
The Alumni association of graduates, post graduates and faculty of the Christian
Dental College, Ludhiana was formed on 24 th March 2008. The annual meeting of the alumni
is held on 24th March every year or on the convocation day.

Applicants are warned against possible cheating by agencies/persons that advertize
in newspapers or by other means, promising seats for various courses by extracting
money from candidates/parents. The Christian Medical College, Ludhiana
categorically states that all the courses offered can only be secured by merit. We have
no agents for admissions. There are no payment seats of any kind.
