Throughout my years teaching, I’ve had the

opportunity to work with players of all ages, but

helping juniors to be their best has always been

uniquely rewarding.

In 1992, The David Leadbetter Junior Golf

Academy was born, attracting young players from

all over the world whether college or professional

golf was their aim. Many world-class players came

out of the program, including the likes of Paula

Creamer, Jessica Korda, Julieta Granada, Sean

O’Hair, Chen Tsung Pan, and Emiliano Grillo. In

fact, many of today’s junior golf academies took

direct inspiration from our original model, with a

vast number of the world’s top junior golf coaches

graduating through the Leadbetter Teaching

Certification Program.

By reason of popular demand and my desire to

once again revolutionize the junior golf program

space, I was excited to officially re-launch the David Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy at our state-

of-the-art facility at ChampionsGate in Orlando,

Florida in Fall 2017. With our years of experience,

I along with my team have designed a holistic

program to guarantee that young players reach

their full potential in golf as in life.

The David Leadbetter name has been synonymous

with instructional excellence for over three

decades. We have helped professionals win

dozens of PGA and LPGA tournaments, including

23 major championships, along with helping

thousands of amateurs enjoy the game.

We have always focused a lot of our attention on

helping young golfers to achieve their dreams.

We look forward to utilizing our unparalleled

knowledge and expertise to help your child do the

The David Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy (LJGA) provides the most individualized full-

time junior golf program available anywhere in the world. Located at David Leadbetter’s

Global Headquarters at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Florida, every detail has been

meticulously designed to deliver the optimum environment for personal development.

David Leadbetter will personally be involved with each student, providing his vast

coaching knowledge and experience to ensure they reach their potential. David’s

team of highly qualified Certified Leadbetter Instructors and industry-leading experts in fitness and mental coaching are on hand to provide the very highest level of coaching typically reserved for our Tour players.

Full-time Program Overview

Every student attending LJGA will undergo a full week of screening and assessments to allow David and his

team of coaches to create a personal development plan and goal setting. Daily, weekly and monthly reports will

be generated to track progress and keep parents and future college recruiters involved.

LJGA will offer a minimum of 27 hours of instruction and monitored practice each week, combining technical

instruction in groups of 2 plus group training, on-course play, tournament preparation, mental coaching, and a

personal fitness program. LJGA coaches will coordinate and accompany students to the top junior tournaments as well as arranging college visits and placements.

A typical week will consist of academic work in the morning at Windermere Preparatory School, lunch and

transport to the Academy. Following David’s athletic approach every session will begin with a dynamic warm

up followed by either individual instruction or group training. Students will spend several hours on-course

each week playing and simulating tournament situations on the two championship golf courses on property at

ChampionsGate. LJGA has a team of sport psychologists, mental coaches, and fitness and performance experts who will be offering regular assessments and support. David will provide his personal input and coaching to each

student during the program.

In addition to holistic golf instruction, LJGA will provide a weekly ‘Life Skills’ session with guest speakers including

professional Tour players, social media training, college recruiters, as well as Game On Nation - an industry-

leading communication company, who will help students to hone their inter-personal communication skills.

Towards the end of each week, coaches will tailor the program specifically to tournament preparation, including strategy sessions and equipment checks. In the evenings and spare time, students will be encouraged to

maintain a balanced life with team outings to local PGA Tour and LPGA Tour events, visit Orlando’s famous

theme parks, as well as the pools, spa, and leisure facilities at the Omni ChampionsGate Resort.

Junior Golf Training Camps

Junior Golf Training Camps offer weeklong or multi-week programs specifically focused on game improvement. David’s team of Certified coaches will deliver valuable insights into the technical, mental, physical, and on-course skills of the game, allowing each junior golfer to take their game to the next level. Small group sizes also

ensure each participant receives plenty of individual attention throughout the camp.

Each camp finishes with a friendly but competitive tournament on one of the ChampionsGate golf courses with specialized strategy and on-course coaching.

LJGA will have a limited intake to ensure each student receives maximum time with coaching staff. This small

intimate group will allow for personal instruction and a focus on the individual but still offering the benefits of team training and high-level competition.

Grounded in David’s holistic golf philosophy, Leadbetter students will develop the skills to own every aspect of

their game. Built from a fundamental understanding of swing techniques with the aid of technology and how the

body works in synchronization with the arms and club. Layered onto these foundations are mental conditioning,

the art of scoring, course strategy, communication skills and personal development. As long as the student has

the correct attitude, all these elements combined will guarantee success.

Whatever the ultimate goal of LJGA students, whether it’s a Tour professional or gaining entry to a US college,

the personal attention offered by David’s coaching staff and Windermere Preparatory teachers will ensure they

are suitably prepared.

LJGA Performance CycleAt the David Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy, we plan for success with each of our juniors

by custom-designing a holistic training and performance plan for each of our players based

upon elite level periodization and planning.

This approach allows our players to effectively manage their skill development (mental

Located on the grounds of the luxurious Omni ChampionsGate Resort in Orlando, Florida, LJGA offers year

round practice at world-class facilities. Designed personally by David Leadbetter, the academy facilities are

regularly used by top Tour players as well as elite players from around the world. The facility includes 4-acres of

custom designed short-game areas, putting greens, bunkers, covered and open grass range, par-3 course and

two 18-hole championship golf courses. The Academy building itself is equipped with the latest technology as

well as video analysis rooms, simulator and equipment services.

Brett Meyer is an LGA Certified Instructor who regularly coaches top-level Tour Players and elite juniors, along with overseeing all club fitting operations for the Academy. Brett was recently selected by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America

for 2016-2017 in recognition of outstanding achievement among golf instructors under

age 40. Brett also holds a Trackman Master Certified status, one of few instructors nationwide with this credential.

Michael Sanabria is a Certified instructor who has assisted David with various students including many PGA, LPGA, and European Tour players. Along with delivering LGA

junior golf programs in Asia, Mike is also responsible for the training and certification of the global network of over 60 Leadbetter Certified Instructors. Mike has dedicated his life to coaching junior golfers. He was a member of the First Tee in Tampa and more

recently led curriculum development for the revolutionary new grassroots golf program,

Leadbetter Kids.

David Leadbetter has coached players to 22 Major Championship titles and over 100 individual

worldwide tournament victories. Seven of these players have even held first place in the Official World Golf Ranking. David continues to be a revered voice in elite junior golf instruction, is a

longstanding board member of the AJGA, and is currently coaching several top PGA, LPGA, and

European Tour players.

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Sean Hogan has over 20 years experience coaching alongside

David Leadbetter. Sean has overseen instruction at Leadbetter Golf Academy locations in

Portugal, New Jersey, and now ChampionsGate. A Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor, Sean

has assisted David Leadbetter with several top Tour players including women’s World No.

1 Lydia Ko, 2008 Masters Champion Trevor Immelman, Ian Poulter, Ben Curtis, Suzanne

Petterson, and Charles Howell III. He currently coaches a number of PGA and LPGA Tour

players, although his main focus is on elite up-and-coming juniors.

Txema currently coaches elite college and junior players, including World Top 50 ranked

Jorge Garcia, Maria Fassi, and Karl Vilips. He also currently coaches and supports

PGA Tour and Web.com Tour players Carlos Ortiz, Juan Sebastian Muñoz, and 2016

Olympian Rodolfo Cazaubon. Along with being recognized as an AJGA Junior Advisor

for Latin America, Sánchez is involved in Tournament organization for the AJGA Sergio

Garcia Foundation Championship and is a member of the PGA of Spain.

MitchFarrer,LGACertifiedInstructor

Mitch, originally from England, was mentored by David throughout a successful amateur

and college career including the 2012 NCAA Championships. Mitch turned to coaching

and now personally assists David with his Tour players and elite amateurs. Mitch was

an integral part of the team that tested and researched the A-Swing as well as helping

to set up Leadbetter’s Online Coaching Platform. Mitch has an in-depth knowledge of

the game and caddied for top-level players in LPGA, European Tour, and AJGA events

including the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews.

AaronShultz,MS.,LeadbetterGolfPerformanceSpecialist

Aaron began his Sports Performance career in 2011 at an elite training facility in Indiana,

with an emphasis in linear speed and multidirectional movement training where he

gained valuable experience working with athletes in a variety of sports and ability levels.

After completing his Masters Degree in Kinesiology and Applied Sport Science from the

University of Indiana, Aaron continued to coach elite conference-winning collegiate track

and field athletes, as well as serving as a high-school soccer coach. Aaron now trains elite junior golfers at the Leadbetter Golf Academy in Orlando through their partnership

with the Florida Institute of Performance, under the guidance of renowned Fitness and

Performance expert David Donatucci.

Dr.RobertWinters,SportsPsychologistandPerformanceConsultant

Dr. Winters is internationally renowned and brings 30 years of consulting experience

to top-level golfers around the world. Having been involved with perceptual and

optometric science, he led sports vision research working with Olympic, collegiate,

and junior athletes. Dr. Winters is also one of the four original Golf School Directors

for NIKE Golf Schools and US Sports Camps and has been a Director of Golf for NIKE

Junior Golf Schools since 1994.

StevenYellin,MentalCoachandFounderofTheFluidMotionFactor

Steven Yellin is the founder and co-creator of The Fluid Motion Factor, a revolutionary

training program that allows athletes to access a higher and more consistent level of

performance. His program is currently implemented in multiple professional sports,

including MLB, NHL, NBA and the NFL. He also currently coaches PGA, LPGA, and

Asian Tour players along with young elite juniors from all over the world.

Since 1997, Game On Nation has become one of the most respected firms in leadership, communication, athlete-coach interaction, and teambuilding. Game On’s innovative

taken in providing a safe, nurturing boarding

environment and it is consistently expressed

from residential families just how much the

school feels like home.

House Parents

Our house parents oversee the health and

wellbeing of each student within the Boarding

Program.

The houses are under the care of full-time House

Parents and part-time Residential Assistants

who ensure the health, safety and happiness

of the students. They closely monitor proper

behavior, study habits, and help to create a

sense of community. House Parents also work

closely with parents, teachers and tutors to

ensure each student is comfortable in class and

feels happy and engaged at school.

Activities & Weekends

Although the majority of students’ spare time will be spent playing

golf, they also have access to a varied program that incorporates

fun, rest, activities, household chores and homework. House

Parents also coordinate trips after golf practice to the grocery store,

convenience store, bank, post office and local cafes and eateries. Additional local attractions include: Walt Disney World, Sea World,

Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, water parks, the Kennedy Space

Center, Daytona International Speedway, local beaches, Orlando

Magic Basketball Games, Orlando’s Downtown Arts District and
